@@miragetheultra as far as i'm aware, none of the other flashes were hosted on newgrounds. in fact, the main reason it was hosted on newgrounds was because hussie, very aware the immense hype for the flash, knew that mspa would for sure crash had he hosted it there (i think, don't quote me on that). newgrounds, having a much larger server, would be a better fit... only for it to crash anyway... and then mspa crashed... and then the flash was uploaded to megaupload... which also crashed.
Seeing Jack show up in the post-apocalyptic earth timeline was so horrifying on first watch. Like you grow to really like these weird, funny looking guys who are guiding the main characters and it’s so removed from the rest of the story, to have Jack just show up is like having a horror movie villain suddenly show up in a Pixar movie. 3:15
Recently re-read up to this point with a few friends and man it had me emotional... I mean watching this with the proper context fresh in your brain is just the single coolest experience I think you can have with a piece of fiction. Nothing has topped this comic man
If you show someone this out of context they'll just be like "ah yeah, neat animations" they just wouldn't get all the thousands of pages of setup to get to this point. So many story arcs converge upon this flash, from The Scratch beginning, to Bec Noir's journey through the Frog Temple and Lotus Time Capsule, and eventual rampage in the Troll's session, The Tumor getting ready to detonate due to Spades Slick's showdown with Snowman/Bec Noir destroying the Genesis Frog, *The Reckoning beginning, with God Tier Jade coming in at the last moment to save Skaia, and the entire session OH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE THAT I'M STILL SPEECHLESS* PM, putting on the White Queen's Ring and beginning her journey (anyone who says the comic fell off after this clearly wasn't paying attention) Doc Scratch's final, smug message, Sollux sending the trolls on their way, and finally Rose and Dave god tiering and FINALLY meeting the trolls. It's all just too much to explain.
One of my favourite little touches: 10:18 , when you see the Beat Mesa flying towards Skaia, there’s a spinning time and space symbol over it, showing the massive spacial and temporal force waiting to be released.

With Jade being my favorite character, seeing her finally ascend to god tier beyond even the reach of the others was something else. Reborn powerful enough to shrink entire planets and teleport anywhere, and finally escaping the scratch by hurtling herself and everyone else through the fourth wall... It was satisfying to no end.
Synced this vid for the midnight of new years eve, where the green sun is born right at midnight. Happy new year 2022 everybody! EDIT: 2023 and 2024 and 2025 too!!! Love you all!
Never hear of homestuck before today, never was a part of Tumblr. The only things I can say is that the music is pretty cool, and I'd definetly wanna watch this either super high or drunk without context

@@vitani16 all of the flashes have been replaced by youtube videos. which is fine, sorta misses the old charm of it, but it mostly works. except for certain pages where the ==> was part of the flash. those you now have to manually skip to the next page using the url.

Yeah up to Cascade it's genuinely such a good story. I don't think the rest of it is bad, just not as good in comparison. Even after the comic is over Hussie doesn't seem to know when to let a good thing end.

@@Urakross I mean, sure, but the timeline we see in hiveswap so far is pretty consistent with what we know about the histories of the characters and of earth b1 and alternia. It's probably we're in the exact same alpha timeline as homestuck.
