The snow on the scamp roof adds insulation...I think they need a bigger camper to reinsulate/restore, then park it under the carport....or build a tiny house out of a shipping container or 2 so the rats can't get it!!
I’m going to guess either a workspace or a kitchen. You could space it far enough from the other one to create a space to park the Scamp between them and put a roof over it.
I thought the same; a covered breezeway between the container and a cozy studio. Then utilize the breezeway to protect the camp kitchen and put solar panels on the roof of it.
Many years ago I had a stomach ulcer, when I would get hungry i would hurt and when I ate I felt better. (Classic ulcer symptoms) My dr wanted to scrape my stomach to see if it was the type of ulcer that they could cure with antibiotics. I asked why not just give me the antibiotic to see if it goes away and he said he couldn't do that. Well of course not, that would keep them from getting a paying procedure right? Anyway my wifes parents lived 10 minuets from the Mexico border so when we went to visit we went across to a Mexican pharmacy and I asked the girl what antibiotic they gave for stomach ulcers and she showed me two pills and told me how to take them. It was like a two week process and cost me $25 I think it was. This was like 1994 or so. It went away within those two weeks and to this day has never come back.
No your doctor wanted to check whether antibiotics would help you before prescribing them. You Americans want antibiotics for everything even when it probably wont help, which means you breed resistent bacteria which means a lot of antibiotics dont work anymore

Get a large bag of pure silica cat litter. N look up how to make damp absorbers. Cold air running under your van. Try block n cover ground with sheepskin rugs. Stay healthy n safe. Love dogs hat! Xxx
An indoor kitchen would be great use for the storage container, at least for the winter. Hope you have a good winter. One of my favorite things in your videos is watching you cook.
My mice and rats like eating Irish spring. I have found something none of them do like and that is CAMPHOR. I put inside my cars fuse box, inside air filter, all places they were living. How it is a mystery to me. I put camphor balls inside and under the storage compartments. Under frige and under the bath tub especially around wires. Camphor is healthier then moth balls and they don't mind moth balls as much as camphor. Worth a try. U could make hanging bags for under the shower pallets. No matter how many you kill there will be more of them. I have discovered that. Also by accident I discovered a good rat trap is a tall garbage can put food on bottom and they get in but can't jump out. U can dispatch as u see fit. Camphor is my new friend and it reminds me of when I was a child, mom would give us all camphor pouches to put under our pillows to breath better.
You could build a car port type structure over the scamp running the stove pipe up thru it. Would be sturdier than your canopy and offer some protection from the harsh weather while cooking.
I was thinking that when watching the last vlog. Could they not build another lean-to off the container and put scamp under or in front of it to help have extra cover in the winter. Or maybe use the one they already built. X
So amazing how these guys have been able to survive and thrive in this world and managing to do it THEIR way. Love this channel it will be a sad day when they move out of the Scamp lol

Have you considered a baited live trap for the pack rats? Living in rural British Columbia, I set them (2) outside my house & they work great. Sorry to add we shoot them with a .22 as relocating they will return.

just an idea here! (long time subscriber few years now!) A lot of people who have homesteads that suffer from racoons/rabbits/small-medium sized pests can buy dehydrated blood sprinkles and shake them around the property therefore scaring off most pests and rodents! You can also try buying wolf/mountain lion/big predator urine and spray that around your property like the blood sprinkles i mentioned and it also will deter most pests as well as smaller-medium sized predators like coyotes! Hopefully this can at least protect your garden, maybe your structures as well from those pesky pack rats!

I had field mice get into my bass boat and chew up the wiring. I put moth balls in small cloth pouches and put them all over and that ran them off and has kept them away. Not sure about a Pack Rat but it's worth a shot. Put that storage container next to the other one and put a Pop-up tent on top! I've always heard Antelope is nasty. I was surprised! Good vlog.
Don't know if you were able to read my comment on rats etc. But get a solar motion detector lite. It helps keep them at bay. Scare them away everytime it detects them and light goes on. Got mine at Home Depot mine is so bright when it goes on! So far so good!!
Rodent tip: My dad lives on 30ish acres in CO and he parks his automobiles on sheets of metal lathe that he got from home depot. Rodents have a hard time getting across it to nest in your cars. Worth looking into at least!
Try peppermint to keep rats away, it worked with my raccoon problem. May work for the rats too??? You may have to get a container to park the subaru in too haha

once when we took the Motorhome after the winter (we had no time to use it during the winter that time), we found out (yet on the way), that there must have been mice into it. My husband said they long gone now. But i was not so sure. We discovered many nests! And I took 1 Mouse in a trap and let it go somewhere in a forest. So... mice-free. realy?... no, there was some more mice. When we came home from our week-end-Trip, we opend the storage-room of the Motorhome, and 1 mouse felt out. uh? strange. must be some more then. I put out mouse-traps with good Gruyère cheese and all in all I took 7 mice! After that I cleaned all, desinfectet all. (of course on our way to that week-end-trip, we had to put out all the beddings and buy some new ones) However, as I didn't wanted another adventure like this, I put out Irish spring soap in the Motorhome, right at the front, where they probably went in. Fortunately it worked. :) Hope it will work also in future.
Maybe you could put up a tent style garage like Trent and Allie did to get you through this first winter. We all want you to be warm and safe. You would also have room for firewood and cooking since the scamp is so small.
Hmmm, maybe just a covered storage shed for things like pantry items and food, though I'd probably make it a bathroom because it would be more comfortable in the cold.

Thank you for watching! We experienced winter here last year, but not on our land! It gets brutally cold. The insulation improvements we made last fall made a huge difference!
I've also started probiotics, have helped alot. I've got out caffeine and sugar and gluten to see if I would feel better as well. I've bought the bone broth just haven't got there yet.

I BELIEVE it's to "extend" ur living space. Many of us did this when we lived off grid as well :) attached to our RVs or campers with a wood stove :)

Sos brillo pads are great tore apart and shoved into tiny places...they do not like chewing on the soapy metal.

They don’t have solar mounted to the top of the scamp. They have extra long cords in their current set up.
As a matter of fact, they could mount solar on the roof of the car port.

Take the soap n shred it in a grader. Then sprinkle the soap around where you want. The container is for a new bathroom bcuz winter will be cold.

If you can find moth balls put them in a small mesh bag and hang them in your engine compartment.

Technically pronghorns aren't antelope, even though I've always called them that. Maybe that's why they taste good.

Maybe you could put up a tent style garage like Trent and Allie did to get you through this first winter. We all want you to be warm and safe. You would also have room for firewood and cooking since the scamp is so small.
And the packrats would love the shelter too! :0D
Hmmm, maybe just a covered storage shed for things like pantry items and food, though I'd probably make it a bathroom because it would be more comfortable in the cold.
