Then it cuts to several years later, he's married the new girl, and that's when he runs into his former so-called friend, who's been sad, alone and miserable since he left. When she tries begging him to give her another chance, he tells her he's married and even if he wasn't, he wouldn't give her that chance. He then wishes her luck and walks away, leaving her broken with the knowledge that this is all her own fault for treating him that way all those years ago.

@@demochris1786 For me it's not so much that I'm taking it literally it's that it's bad story telling because it's ignoring how humans actually think and behave under certain stressors. In this instance Kanae has been doing textbook emotional and psychological abuse which has irrevocably damaged Keiichi's psyche to an extent. That being the case he should have a more visceral dislike, or hate, for Kanae, but because the writer didn't think about that they wrote characters that are less than 1 dimensional and are beyond retarded leading to bad story telling that adds disappointment to my viewing of this genre of materials. So basically I want them to either do better or not dub blatantly bad stories like this one.

Normally I try to have some sort of leeway with these stories even though I do not like the Tsundere trope. But goodness me, I cannot really get myself to like this FMC. Yes, she may have apologised, but the way she acted really infuriated me. Personally, I would've not dated her, but I would let her think about what she's done and reflect on it, that way, there is a redeemable quality. But that's just me. Other than that, great story

We saw this in anime like "Golden Time," when Linda wasn't honest with her feelings for Banri until it was too late. Now she regrets not being honest, wishing she could go back in time to fix her mistake. Sadly, this isn't like "Orange," where you can do that. That's why she implored Banri to chase after Koko when she dumped him, so he wouldn't live with the regret like she has to.
We also saw it in "Zutto Mae Kara Suki Deshita," when Natsuki Enomoto kept doing "practice confessions" to her childhood friend, Yu Setoguchi. The confessions were real, but out of embarrassment, she brushes them off as practice confessions. "tsundere" style that comes off super condescending, and honestly her demanding he just listens to whatever she says reminds me of a late grand mother.

Additionally, it's an episode when Kanae is the heroine, not the usual Yui, Noa or Nagisa. I think Kanae has a flexible place in roles. She can be a gold/status digging antagonist, she can be a cute little girl, she can be a 'cool, understanding boss girlfriend', she can also be the tsundere heroine.
And... no, I don't always have problems with a tsundere heroine who wins. I guess I just have A LOT of patience and believing in second chances, as well as seeing how genuine they are in being sorry. Because really, these tsunderes are genuine in trying to turn over new leaves compared to the gold diggers or jerk jocks.
