Actually, I think that Noa was flattered at first that she was the center of attention, but then things got out of hand and that she was tired of people treating her like she was an object or a prize rather than as an actual human being with feelings and emotions in her life, hence her plan to get Keiichi into being her fake boyfriend, and, if that is indeed the case, then she honestly did right in asking for his help in getting those other boys to leave her alone.
This is why I hate high school. Students don't even take a second to think about rumors, they just instantly believe whatever they're told like mindless sheep

And the good part: she wasn't jealous when saw the MC in the library with another girl. "The jealous" of story was the popular guy and like other stories, his word is more truly than the MC for some reason. (This judgement is really dangerous,guys. NEVER acuse anyone without proves because you can to make a terrible injustice with an innocent and when you realized it, it's too late) The FMC is smart enough to get who Popular Guy started all the rumors but she needed to confirm that. In the end, she saves the MC and he started to like her. Everything happened naturally here. Thank you for the Romcom. I like it! ❤
It's fkn scary how easy it is as well. Mate had a girlfriend that accused him of r- (not gonna say the full word) because he touched her leg... It was fully consensual and he had the text messages to prove it. Police got involved and saw all the evidence. He was proven innocent. Then people just jumped on the bandwagon and he was labelled a pedo (the girl was older than him. Don't ask me how that one works) and a ra-ist (once again, won't say full word). That doesn't just apply to high school. For example, a single mother moves to a new home after running away from her abusive husband. The local housewives may start gossiping about her behind her back, making all kinds of assumptions about her and her situation.
High school is tough enough to begin with, but when rumors and innuendo, such as what Kaiichi went through, start to go around, it can be totally devastating...especially if a nickname gets added, which almost happened if not for Noa. Things did work out, and she fell for him in a very big way.
Even though Keiichi rejected Noa in the beginning she still saved him from Hiro and Mika who spread those awful rumors about him and instead of falling for her she fell head over heels for him and vice versa after she saved him and now a new set of rumors have begun to spread that the two of them are dating but I don't think they'd mind at all.🥰
