*The New Testament does NOT demonstrate that 'the Evidence' of the Holy Spirit is Tongues. The New Testament demonstrates that Tongues are a 1. Sign of the INITIA BAPTISM of the SPIRIT 2. They are a SIGN to the UnBeliever. The 2nd one I find to be a Mystery as you are an UnBeliever & yet you are not even being given a Sign.*
If you want to know if a seed has been planted then look for the fruit. The fruit of the Holy Spirit not the gifts. Beside Paul even tells us not everyone will receive every gift.

The fruits of the spirit are not natural love,joy,peace etc. The church as a whole does not express the fruits of the spirit. Have a look at acts4,,5 the church culture in these 2 chapters is a direct result of the fruit of love. The fruits and the gifts are from the same Spirit and both are supernatural

It is also written you are the Body of Christ, and that the Body is made up of many members. Better to have each of us doing something different than everyone doing the same thing, don't you think?
The English word " tongues" in the original Greek that the N.T. was written in means " another language" and a language" meaning one single spiritual language.
The gift of the Spirit Paul speaks of pertaining to speaking in " tongues" always works together with a believer who has the gift of interpretation for the edification of a church body.
As Paul states in 1Cor. 12: 6 that there " diversities of operation" pertaining to the gifts. This is particularly true of the gift of speaking in " tongues". Paul says in 1Cor.14:4 "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifyeth himself.."
Paul said in 1Cor. 14:2 there is a different " operation" of "tongues". For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto man but unto God: for NO MAN UNDERSTANDETH Him
howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries"
1Cor.14:14 "For if I pray in an unknown tongue my Spirit prayer but my understanding is unfruitful".
Most importantly, in the book of Acts three times it is written that believers recieved the Holy Spirit. In all three instances the first thing that happened was that they spoke in " tongues".
Imagine standing before the throne of Christ, looking Him in the eye and saying to Him that you saw no evidence in His Word that when a believer recieved the Holy Spirit that the first thing that happened was that they spoke in " tongues".

I was sceptical about tongues myself and even thought it was crazy until one day I had a fever so bad I knew I needed to go to the hospital but it was so bad I couldn't get out of bed... I was falling asleep but also felt like I was about to die and then I called on Jesus Please help me and something phenomenal happened. I felt something feel up my lungs like a fresh air and then something powerfull took over me and I began speaking a language loud and fiercely, it sounded middle eastern possibly Aramaic and every second that went by I felt my fever breaking , I knew this was the Holy Spirit Of God, from that on I've had the gift ever since and it breaks depression and sickness I far as I know , this is only the one spiritual gift God gave me praise His name Yesheah

I heard an evangelist share his experience as a young boy in a Pentecostal church. He talked about him and his sister sitting next to their mother as she prayed in church. A man there used to like walking around the church praying and once in a while they heard him speaking in tongues and it sounded like hick-a-ma ba-ba. So as children they would reference the man as brother hick-a-ma ba-ba. Many years later when this same boy grew up and went into ministry, and travelled all over the world. During one of his overseas trips to Indonesia (? I think) at a town where he was preaching the gospel of Jesus death,burial, and resurrection he heard a man praying and he kept saying periodically hick-a-ma ba-ba and wondered if he was speaking in tongues or was it his language. Using an interpreter he approached the man and asked him if he was speaking in tongues and the man replied that sometimes he was and sometimes if he praying in his own language. So through the interpreter he asked him about "hick-a-ma ba-ba". The man replied that it was his own language from the area he was from. He asked him what it meant. He said well ba-ba means father and hick-a-ma means literally I am holding on to your feet, but together it means Father I am holding on to you or Father I am trusting in you. Just because we do not understand or have not experienced the speaking in tongues like what happened to the disciples in the upper room or like what happened to Cornelious and his household in Acts 10 does not make it demonic and we should be careful of what we say because we may be in danger of blaspheming the Spirit of God. It is wisdom to say nothing but give it to ?God in prayer or better still ask
God to fill you full of the Holy Spirit like the early church. But there is an "initial" evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit that happens right away because when Simon the sorcerer converted to Christianity through Philip's preaching. When Peter and John came there to Samaria because people were converting and getting baptized. Simon the "sorcerer" SAW with his own eyes that people received the Holy Spirit when Peter and John prayed for them (Acts 8:14-18), he then offered money to them to give him the same power so that he could do the same and Peter rebuked him. WHAT did he see happen when they laid hands and prayed? What was so powerful that he wanted to pay money for the power? May Heavenly Father forgive those of you that may condemn your own soul with blasphemy.
It was pointed out to me many years ago that every time someone received the Holy Ghost in Acts it specifically says they knew it because they spoke in tongues, except for the one time you mentioned. However like you said, there had to be some kind of physical manifestation otherwise Simon the sorcerer wouldn’t have offered money for the power to do the same.
Truth
Well, I'm Pentecostal and the evidence of speaking in tongues is Biblical. This man is also right to say that the showing of the fruits are also evidence of the Holy Spirit living inside the person. There is not one sect of Christianity that will be saved but the person who has the true relationship with Jesus and does His will, will be saved. Follow the Bible for it tells you everything that you need in order to have your name in the Book of Life.
If you are in the US and hear someone speaking in "tongues", no way should you have to go halfway around the world to get a translation of what you heard! This is not Scriptural.
I agree. How can all speak in tongues when Paul already said not everyone will speak in tongues? 1 Corinthians 12:10 ESV "...,to another various kinds of tongues,...". And how would we know it is a sign if we don't understand what they are saying? 1 Corinthians 14:28 ESV: "28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.".
You know when you have received the Holy Spirit when your old self die. Your sufferings, addictions gone. Your heart filled with peace, love for people and God's creations, and have burning desire to preach the gospel. For me, that's how you know that you are really saved. Cos it happened to me. And i was never the same since.

What people seem to forget is that the miracle was not in speaking tongues but in hearing it and the words unfold to them in their own language. Back then it was imperative as to spread the Gospel very urgently. What the churches are doing today with repetitive words to me personally is not tongues. We will receive the second rain of dreams and prophecies proclaiming the judgment of God. We don't all have to agree on this subject, just love your brother and be kind.

My church has put so much emphasis on tongues that it’s become “the haves and the have not’s”. I was even advised by a member in our small group to begin practicing making sounds that the Holy Spirit can use. I’m afraid all of that has turned me to believing most of the tongues I encounter is man-made babbling.
I have a friend who does that and no matter what I say, she says oh no this is not an evil spirit. It feels so warm and loving. Good grief 🤦🏼♀️
But why is she doing it? Does it have a purpose? You should tell her, scripture says, even Satan and his demon's, will (appear) as Angel's of light! That was written, as a warning for us!

@@sweetaududette Demons are experts at deception! Which is why the scriptures give us warnings, the tactics of the Demons. Second, some are taught that demons do not enter the church, that is a false statement as well. Even Satan disrupted a meeting which was called in Heaven, by God himself, with all the other Angels present, and challenged God, right then and there! Which takes us into the story of Job. Maybe once people realize,... That Satan and his demons will enter into any church, then maybe they'll understand, how they can deceive many in the congregation. I don't know if you already have,... But if not, go over the very origin, when did disciples first spoke in tongues and also noticed the reason why and the results. I would stress, that the foreigners that,... they were speaking to,... didn't hear gibberish,.. but they heard and understood language! For many churches, nobody,.. nor the one speaking,.. understands anything,... And it is therefore, pointless! Which God does not operate in that Manor!

I've been on a 5 year journey, searching for the truth, at the beginning I did not know what the truth was. I just knew I want it.
Research, doubt, joy, doubt, fall, pain, joy, pain, research, love, suffering, disappointment, failure, stumbling, doubt, joy...just like our children learns to walk...In my case, I was puffed up and had learned to walk so why would I need to learn to walk again?
I now humbly walk again, but in the right direction.
That is my journey (in very short), and I believe it is not unique for me in any sense. That is life.
I am just so happy and joyful that the Lord has guided me thru all these years, and it is my sincere hope that I will be worthy in the end, and the same goes for you my beloved!

And you skipped the entire book of Acts. Which is where Pentecostal believers base doctrine. Throughout the book people are being baptized in the Spirit and then speak in tongues. The idea of false signs and wonders is they are a counterfeit, which means that they are imitating something real. I like that you clear matters of vocabulary, but you need to better in discussing issues and doctrine that you don't agree with or understand.

It's all over the Bible the ability to speak in tongues. Idk what this video or the people in the comments are talking about. They are clearly deceived.

Many go around claiming if you dont speak in tongues you haven't been baptized in the Holy Spirit and yet most who say this are clearly over weight, So were supposed to believe they have great power and yet cant even lose weight, Most are Phonies.

I wonder why people try to change God's word, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of pentecost and people began to speak in tongues.. we pray in tongues ... he is trusting the word. So sad
That was heartbreaking to find out about false religions practicing tongues. Great report. I'm going to be praying for discernment on this subject as I do believe that speaking in tongues can be a spiritual gift as laid out in 1Corinthians 12. Hopefully we can make some headway on uniting the body of Christ as we get away from organized religion and back to just the Word of God.

Chris Simpson I have seen speaking in tongues that glorified Yah, and I have seen some that didn't. I have never believed it to be the only proof of the Holy Spirit. Any fruit of the Spirit is the evidence. My opinion overall, is that people with similar gifts have congregated together. This has unbalanced churches. We also are not walking in the ways of YHVH, partially because we were blinded as a punishment for sin, and partly because we have been mislead. Right now truth is being revealed in preparation for further fulfillment of prophecy. The American church is slipping more and more away from the ways of God, yet a remnant is rising being called back to truth. At some point, most of us are going to have to wake up to the fact that the protestant church is being wrangled back under mother Rome. They weren't that far from it anyway. It was a hard pill for me personally to swallow. We have lost the gifts of the spirit in the most part because we are not walking in the upright ways of the Torah. Just like a parent wouldn't hand a disobedient child a loaded gun, so too has Abba not handed over the spiritual weapons of war. When we ask for the gifts, we must learn obedience first, for our own safety. This doesn't mean He has left us complely helpless, but we aren't walking in the full power of the Holy Spirit. I'm probably going to get slammed for saying all this, but the truth is what it is. We have to start there to get back to where we need to be.

Yes he did, and the he said that the gift of profecy is better than tongues. This, actually must be accounted in a wider context of algo beign able to speak in foreign languages, which is rarely seen nowadays. Tongues as glossolalia, is a phenomenom that can come together with the touch of holy spirit, but is not the only sign, neither the most important.

They don't know any better. It's the Pastors that mislead them.
For example, the UPCI organization is a “fellowship of ministers” NOT of churches, meaning if you aren’t licensed (i.e. paying them money and officially selling your soul to them) through them then you really don’t get any say and aren’t considered a “member,” meaning the ministers are ultra-protected while the congregants who get taken advantage of have no protections and even get excommunicated if they speak up or attempt to blow the whistle on an abusive minister (for example the one who the UPCI helped get away with raping at least one girl, and allowed him to remain as a licensed minister.) The people are shielded from the truth and threatened if they dare step out of line. Their services are done in such a way as to induce a trance-like state where the congregants brain waves show a similar pattern to epilepsy, allowing them to be more open to suggestion and unable to use their frontal lobe for critical examination and true logical reasoning. The UPCI is run like a cult, and even “nice ministers” tend to all buy into the same crap. If a minister is truly seeking God, don’t expect them to remain attached to the UPCI. Eventually they will get confronted with truth and if they choose to stay anyway... there’s your sign. The UPCI is the way it is because they WANT it to be so and do their best to edge God out so they can continue to not be confronted with the horrible things they do to people. The general people congregating under them don’t really know what’s happening, yet are manipulated into helping move the sinful system forward to further victimize others. It’s horrible and some of the most egregious sin I’ve seen when it comes to directly victimizing people.

Sadly it's the protestant pastors and catholic priests that are misleading people.
The catholics teach a salvation by works and the protestant, in their zeal to escape catholic beliefs, went too far the other way and teach a salvation without obedience to the gospel plan of salvation in Acts 2:38. These are those Paul said," Obey not the gospel".

My pastor recently claimed that the gift of the baptism of the holy spirit is the manifestation of speaking in tongues and this is the only way to know that you are baptised in the spirit, I felt so uneasy about this, I have been trying to find the truth here, I used to talk in "tongues" it never felt right or natural to me, I stopped doing it because I felt I was forcing it,

I knew pentalcostal people in Juneau, AK. They told me that since I did not speak in tongues that I did not have the holy spirit. There was a member there that had a bad headache and I asked could I pray for you. I laid hands on his head and asked the Lord to release the cause of the headache and heal this man. He was healed and the members there asked the Pastor's wife. How did Dave pray that the thing that was causing the headache to be released and it was. She said he only feels better because of the attention he is getting. The headache will come back once he knows he was not healed. The man stood up and said, I do not accept the lie or the curse you want to put on my because of all the deal of you saying he does not have the Holy Spirit because he does not speak in other languages. ( I taught them the truth) The Members wanted me to teach them about the gifts of languages and I simply read what the Bible had in it so that my opinion would not cloud the issues. The Pastor's wife said, I know what God wants and he wants us to speak in tounges I do not care what Dave says because he only uses the Bible to teach. The members said and what do you use? They realized that she was upset with the truth that we needed an interpreture for any message language gift. The Pastor's wife said you do not ned an interpretation. The Bible says we do. She was mad and got up and left.

Question you said in Corinthians, that if tongues was to be used only 2 or 3 can speak in tongues and you must have an interpreter. The contradicts the day of pentecost many spoke in tongues to the point they was called drunk please explain ty ty.

Hey Lex another awesome and truth seeking video. One thing I was asked by a fellow brother was to find out if we should not eat of certain animals and certain fish, but Should we also not cut or trim our faces and head as mentioned in Leviticus chapter 19 verse 27? If so what are we supposed to do with the rest of Leviticus in its entirety which states killing a bunch of animals as a sacrifice down in involving priests and so forth and so forth? And if cutting hair is something in the eyes of God that we ought not to do then why are you still cutting and trimming your hair brother? Thank you for teaching all of us the truth.
Mom tells me about getting left behind or going to hell because I love to play games that are dark or evolve magic I have no obsession with those kinds of games, I'm just a gamer I play lots of different games and I love video games as a whole but it's something I grew up with so I feel unhappy trying to deviate from something I love. I haven't read the Bible recently but months ago I was on a craze for biblical knowledge and now I'm kinda on a break I'm still open to learning but I just haven't been doing as much as far as my reading and studying goes.

Those fruits mentioned in Galatians "love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" could also be exhibited by a non-believer. So we're back at square one in trying to determine if someone has the Holy Spirit.
Rodney Allen you are right on that. Also The SIGN that a person received the Holy Spirit is speaking in an Unknown tongue as the bible states AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM THE UTTERANCE. The evidence is a changed lifestyle. To as many as received Yeshua ( Jesus) to them gave he power to become sons of God. The spirit empowers us to put away the sin in our lives. As well as those that are led by his spirit are the sons of God.
also, false Holy Spirit has all that, just that it's false, but those that did receive the true Holy Spirit have discernment to set the two apart.

Thanks for enlightening about the holy spirit because I used to believe that whoever speaks in tongues had a holy spirit and I attended one church and in that Church they emphasized all members to pray or speak in tongues and that's the how they could know that you have a holy spirit. For sure this was strange for me because I never prayed in other new languages and I got depression and also inside my heart I started doubting. God bless you to set free other people like me who were in that bondage thinking that when you don't speak in tongues holy spirit is not living in you and begin doubting.

This doesn't clarify what do we usually mean with this evidence of Holy Spirit? Do we mean that we have Holy Spirit when we speak with tongues? Or what is the evidence for the baptism in the Holy Spirit. These things are two distinct evidences concerning the Holy Spirit.. Then it relates to salvation in a sense like is person going to heaven or hell. Because Holy Spirit is comes to person when he or she gets saved. Romans 8:9 9 But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His. So when person repents and receives Jesus Christ as personal saviour. Then Holy Spirit comes in Him.. So in that sense also inner wittness can show that he is child of God and then he has the spirit.. So belonging to Jesus shows and it is one of the evidences that he is child of God.
Yeah. You can have holy spirit altough you would not speak with tongues if you're God's child.

I was told by a Pentecostal minister that I had to speak in tongues to prove that the "Holy Spirit" lived inside me. That is NOT Scriptural and is a false doctrine derived from mishandling of 1 Corinthians 14: 22. "Tongues are a sign ...to those who do not believe."
Speaking in tongues is a sign to unbelievers, but it is also the first evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and the born again believers private prayer language.

I'm afraid that the speaker , in this video, is mistaken. Three times in the book of Acts we have instances of believers recieving the Holy Spirit, Acts chs, 2, 10, and 19.
In each instance the first thing that happened was that they spoke in " tongues". " Tongues" in the New Testaments original Koine Greek, means " a language". This is one spiritual language, that three examples are given, that specifically said happened when people recieved the Holy Spirit.
Could anyone stand before God and say that they saw no proof in the scripures that when one recieved the Holy Spirit that the first thing that happened was that they spoke in " tongues"?

One thing I’ve learned is wether it’s tongues or any other outward manifestation/ phenomena experienced it carry’s with it no validity if not found scripture. the experience one has may be a real display of some phenomenon but we cannot and should never allow our experience to dictate how we interpret scripture. If by an outward experience we believe than we are not believing the way Christ commands.

Please go study 1corinthians 14 :2 very well, and ask the Holy spirit the meaning. For he who speaks in a tongue doesn't speak to men but to God,for no one understands him,however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. Study 1corinthians 13:1 says though I speak with the tongues of men and of Angels but have not love, i have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. Could you see there's tongues of men and of Angels?

Hi, I have a view, we as people cannot produce spiritual fruit, it's impossible because of our weaknesses. The spirit does this and somehow we become fruitful. My experience is that we are just vessels and the holy spirit just does what he wants and hardly ever what we want

You pointed out a key issue among church pew fillers. Sometimes we have to read the whole chapter or a few chapters to understand the point. So many churches base doctrine from a half verse here and a verse there. It's good for me to see that others actually study too
We had an INCREDIBLE spirit led service this past week and although we practice tongues, very little of it was present. I believe tongues are abused but genuine, and I agree...put spirits to the test!

I agree with this guy on what hell actually means, God is a loving And mercifully God and eternal torment isn't his character, .. but Spiritual tongues is VERY REAL , saved my life the first time I spoke it, I had a fatal fever , my head burned so bad I wanted to die I begged Yeshua for help then something inside me out up and I spoke a Arabic sounding language uncontrollably and my fever broke within seconds, Holy Ghost filled me that night. and i will also add that scripture being important to those that are seeking God but after understanding it clearly Yeshua says u need the ADVOCATE His Spirit, without it you need pastors, books and ECT. So what do you think about the gifts of the Spirit? Specifically things such as prophecy, healing, visions and things of the sort? Regarding tongues, I do believe that there is a personal prayer language and tongues of angels which, if you do not have an interpreter, you keep between you and God - and many people can fake it as well as Pentecostals. This is what 1 Corinthians teaches. However, I don't think every Pentecostal has it wrong. I do believe there is sincerity in many of them and that their manifestations are true - being God working through them. I do not believe in the "Baptism of the Spirit" which makes you a 1st class Christian and the rest 2nd class Christains, if you will, but I believe that we are all, upon conversion, baptized by Him into the kingdom. But I am very interested in what your view is of the gifts of the Spirit being for today or not.
I believe that millions of seekers have been decieved into thinking that because they have believed the gospel message and decided to turn from their sinful lives that they automatically have recieved the Holy Spirit.I was aware of the Lords' presence before He filled me with His Spirit.I found out that recieving the Holy Spirit IS the Spirit baptism.We only recieve "the anointing that abideth" when we are filled with the Spirit to overflowing.That is what makes it being " born of the Spirit".Any "birth" involves a coming forth out of.That coming forth out of is initiated by surrendering our tongue to the Spirit.Once the Spirit takes control of our tongue, the overflow is verbally testified to by Him, through, in what is ,speaking in the heavenly language(tongues).At the same time this occurs the Spirit joins with our spirit becoming "One".This is recieving the Holy Spirit.Satan is well aware of the Lords' words in John ch.3,"You must be born of water and of the Spirit or he cannot enter into heaven".The Word says that God gives the Holy Spirit to those that " obey" and to those that " ask".Repentance is completed by obeying the command to be water baptized.Baptism is completed by Spirit baptism.Protestants have relegated obedience to the gospel to being a "work".And why ask for the Spirit if you're told you already have the Spirit.

Wow, back up. Read 1 cor 14 specifically v4 and jude 20. The church as a whole has gotten very good at learning the bible but very bad at actually living it. If u speak in tongues regularly it does actually build your spirit man and also enables us to move in the gifts of the spirit and u will see signs wonders and miracles. I have seen an atheist become a Christian and Angel's hold hands with a sick girl and the angel left oil on her right hand. Why, I dont know but the point is that if we the church collectively started to see these things happen then what would the that ook like to a sick and dying world

Jesus didnt heal everyone in Israel,,its about his will be done on earth and not our own. We are called by Christ as we are, but then if we truly follow and believe in him we are changed by the spirit. We dont just stay the same as when he found us because of the holy spirit.
A great example of this transformative power is the life of Peter. This is a man whom walked with Christ while he was in the flesh. A man who saw all the miracles that Jesus performed. A man who heard all the teachings of Christ in person. A man who shared meals with Christ. A man who was taught directly and counseled by Christ. A man who by many of todays standards would lead us to believe he was saved. Yet he was not truly transformed, although he believed he was, like so many people believe about themselves today. He professed to follow Christ. He would never deny him. He would die for him. He would die with him. Yet we know that he did not. He denied Christ three times. The man who actually walked with him denied him. Peter was the same man as he was when Christ found him, blinded by his own pride on what he viewed as righteousness. He never was changed, until the spirit came upon him. Then he became a different man. A man who no matter the circumstances refused to deny Christ.
The holy spirit transformed Peter. He was no longer the Peter Christ found, but a new Peter. He was unrecognizable to the old Peter. So the main evidence of the holy spirit working in you is not speaking in tongues, healing, ect. Do not let anyone tell you any different. Those are evidences used to show unbelievers the power of the spirit, but not the main evidence. The main evidence of the holy spirit is that you are not the same as when Christ found you. You are a new creature. As long as you are transformed you have the spirit. Do not let any man, woman, preacher, or teacher tell you differently. The transformative power of the holy spirit is the evidence, the others are just gifts the spirit gives to further the gospel, which are not for all believers as paul states in scripture.

I agree. There is a guideline for speaking in tongues given by Paul. Coming from a pentecostal background, I can tell you it was often misused. This isn't to say they had demons in them though. I've also seen it used correctly too, with people interpreting.

Maybe because it is real and we are told explicitly in scripture Not to forbid speaking in tongues. Paul even says he desired all to speak in tongues but that it should be done decently and in order in a public setting
