    I can't believe there isn't a cure for this. Surely there's some compound that can break the chemical bonds that cause lens stiffness.

      That is simply crazy, you must learn the physical properties of presbyopia. The lens is growing a layer on top of itself.

      @@DonaldGloveruieie8511 If it's crazy why is there research into eye drops that make the lens more pliable through the exact mechanism I mentioned?

    There’s lens replacement surgery, where the lens in your eyeball is replaced with a synthetic lens. It’s a permanent fix with great success rate, but very pricey at around $10K.

      @GoodOptometryMorning  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes this is called cataract surgery. Now if you have it done when you don't have a cloudy crystalline lens it is called clear lens exchange.

      @ yeah, I’m saving for refractive lens replacement surgery. It’s around $10k here and I wanna pay cash instead of using a their payment plan with interest.

    This is not treating presbyopia, is about using crutches (glasses and eyeglasses) to see. To treat means to CURE, reverse a disease.

    Keep in mind that if you get the refractive surgery for good long distance vision in one eye and the other eye for good close up vision, you won’t be able to pass the DMV eye test and get a driving license. You need to pass the test with each eye individually.

    Glasses don’t fix the cause of the problem!! Only make it worse!! When I was younger I used glasses for myopia and by not using them (for laziness, not for other reason) my eyes improved!! What a waste of my time! I want exercises! (I imagine you are trying to help, but you know glasses won’t fix the problem and actually you become dependent on those)

    Is there a entry level panoptix much like like entry level progressive?
    Most people don't know rather never privileged to have been explained by any optometrist out there.
    The whole time you're paying for expensive progressive prescription but in reality you're Only getting the entry or poor quality progressive 🙄

    • @GoodOptometryMorning
      @GoodOptometryMorning  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Panoptix lens is a cataract lens implant, they work on a completely different technology than the progressive lenses in eye glasses. WRT progressive eye glass lenses I agree that the options in qualities of progressive lenses is oftern poorly explained, if at all. There are dozens and dozens of options and price points of progressives can range from $250 to over $1000...you do get what you pay for.
