I'm still not sold on the looks of the new C class. How does the acceleration of this new C300 compare to the previous gen V6 C300?

Such a gorgeous vehicle! I'd either get the coupé or cabriolet'

To clarify - The C300 is a ‘regular’ Mercedes-Benz which is the last in the line before you reach Mercedes -AMG. (Note the difference between Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes- AMG)
The C class is a compact executive in a line of luxury cars. Mercedes produce the A, B, CLA etc which are lower in the range than the C Class. All are luxurious in their own right as Mercedes is the original luxury car manufacturer.
The C class shares lines and features from the best car in the world...
As to the engine of this generation (W205) c300, ...we can complain that it is a it’s a 4 cyl, but in its defence, it’s an award winning 4 cyl with a lot of torque that has more torque than the previous generation 3.0 V6 Mercedes C350! And that’s the point. This car can achieve 0-60 in 5.6 seconds.
Infiniti use this engine in their cars so some of you have NO IDEA what you’re talking about.
Mercedes-Benz produce less powerful variations of the C class to the rest of the world so the Americas actually have the higher performance variants and not entry level’. For example In the UK, Europe and beyond there is a C180, a C220d, a c200 , ....all are c class just less powerful than the C300.
TAKE NOTE- What is consistent world wide is that moving up from the Mercedes-Benz C300 is the Mercedes-AMG c43 and C63. So for a regular Mercedes-Benz the C300 is the last in range before you get to Mercedes-AMG.

120 feet to stop from 60...I've been watching old motorweek vids where '80's Lincoln town cars stop in less

David C cheap brakes these days

They only did 55 miles per hour during brake tests in those days. That makes a lot more difference than you think.

Ronald de Rooij true but a good few motorweek tests were from 60 too. You've got to wonder, given the massive advances in tyre, brake, and ABS systems that we'd be stopping in less than 100 feet, especially in cars that aren't exactly cheap.

It is an abandoned race course, not theirs. They just use it.

sorry BENZ... INFINITI and BMW know how to make coupes look better and for $43k... 0-60 needs to be under 6secs, the GLA 45 should be the base engine for the coupe

Looks similar to a Honda Accord Coupe from the side. (Just my opinion)

and then the current Audi A4 2.0 crushes you with a 5.8 sec. 0-60.. 14.3 @ 99mph.. with an 104ft. 60-O ... and way more tune-able.. another Merc failure to best a VW right? lol

Who the hell wants to hear a buzzy 4cyl. engine in a luxury car? That's so wrong.

    • @sst5688
      @sst5688 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

palebeachbum I have the c300 with the 2.0. It’s actually not buzzy or harsh at all. It’s very quiet and very smooth like a much larger engine is. You wouldn’t guess at all it’s a 4. The only drawback is that it lacks the grunt and growl of a V6. That is what makes a luxury car feel substantial and I miss that growl from my previous C class W204. But again, this is no average 4 cylinder. She’s smooth and peppy and the turbo whistle is exciting!
