    Hi Squad, IMPORTANT: FOR WEIGHT LOSS when calculating your goal lower your daily maintenance calories by between 100 and 500
    FOR WEIGHT GAIN/MUSCLE GROWTH increase your daily maintenance calories by between 100 and 500
    I accidentally left out a clip explaining this part in the final edit 💔 Sorry squad for the editing mistake.

      I've been using myfitnesspal for a few months, not bad so far. Thanks to that I realized that I was eating less than I should before.

      As much as I didn't want to...I thought I could eat intuitively, I started tracking about a year ago and realized I was woefully under-eating! So I immediately but gradually started eating more.
      I have a question about your calculation for weight loss, you didn't put yourself in a deficit before calculating your macros? Are we supposed to do that or is the 50c, 35p, 15f really sufficient for fat loss? No need for a deficit with this ratio?

    Great video!! So important to get a base understanding but I also advocate intuitive eating when you need to :)

      Thank you 🤩 Yes it's so true about intuitive eating! Honestly, it's the best way especially mentally and it is so powerful when combined with a basic understanding of macros.

    I never track, because I’m one of those types that might do a deep dive and start counting every little thing. That being said, my REE is only 1052 calories per day. That is like one burger and fries combo. YIKES! 😫 (And that’s why I exercise.)

  • @frnie

    When I subtract the calories by the percentages it gets higher? I even tried doing the same numbers as you and they aren’t coming out the same?

  • @saraharnold7862

    This is great 😊 I’ve always become stuck on macros because online calculators are never accurate. I use my fitnesspal and my Fitbit to calculate my macros. I wanted to try this method out to see how much a difference it’ll make, but I’ve become a bit stuck on the activity factor. Do you just mean exercise in general or physical activity too? I have a 7 hour job with 2 days off a week and I do at least an hour to hour 30 mins of exercise a day, cardio one day and weights the other days alternating between the two.. so what activity level would you say I’m at?

    You calculated the number of calories to MAINTAIN your weight and then you allocated those calories among the macros. So where does the weight loss come in? I mean, shouldn’t you determine the calorie deficit, subtract, and then allocate the calories among the macros?

    • @anydae
      @anydae 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch the video over. He spoke of calculating the calories for weight loss and calculating the calories for body building. It's all there

    • @bberenson001
      @bberenson001 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anydae He calculated calories to maintain weight but didn’t calculate a deficit. He allocated total calories to maintain weight to each of the macros. Just because he allocated to macros using the suggested ratios for weight loss doesn’t mean he would lose weight if he’s still eating all the calories to *maintain* weight.

      😂 it's just the way that the equation is written. But definitely convert your weight into kg so you can get a feel for what you are currently eating and how it compares to the base macros we set for weight loss or muscle growth 😁
