I'm sad to hear that the pink Tombow is being discontinued. I will re-watch your adhesive video for other alternatives. This product has too much plastic being tossed into the landfills for my liking. Thank you for sharing all that you do and know.
I also used this product several years ago and then found it wasn't available. I was so sad because it is the very best of all the tape runner adhesives out there. I'm so glad it's back and easily attainable! yay!!!

I'm so glad I found this "old" video! I've just thrown away a glue runner and the two refills that I bought with it because it stopped working, the tape broke, and there was no way to easily fix it. (I checked TH-cam and the US manufacturer's website and there was no info on how to fix it - obviously their glue runner never breaks!) So, I'm in the market for a new glue runner and I do a search and VOILA! I do enjoy watching your videos and have learned a lot from you (and a couple of other TH-camrs) so I value you judgement and will give these a try. Both types and refills added to my Amazon shopping list. (one of twenty shopping lists I have - I really need to win the lotto!) Thanks for the info! Mark

I agree Tobyee Ashe, I just got mine and was searching for refills and nobody was carrying them. Manufactures should have said something when people were buying this tape runner that there would not be any refills after a certain. Thanks Jennifer for the information.

I highly recommend Tombow dot adhesive in the pink holder for all the reasons you like about your dot adhesive.It is widely available and with store coupons is very reasonable. If you have not tried it, please do.....
I remember back when the Kokuyo was first discontinued here in the US; I was working at an "Archiv-ally safe" store, and found out about the discontinuation from Ali Edwards' blog. I bought all I could get a hold of! Since then I've been using the Scotch 3M dot runner, and the Kokuyo from Amazon when I can get a good deal on quantities. The Scotch is an excellent substitute for the Kokuyo-the only difference I have noticed is that the 'dots' on the 3M are a teensy bit larger.
I’m having NO GOOD LUCK with the “new” 3M runners. Since the cassette doesn’t track correctly in the case, glue gets scrubbed off inside the leading edge, prohibiting the tape from dispensing the glue!!
for German crafters: the adhesive at DM (it's blue) is very similar. You can easily rub it off, it's acid free and cheap (1,95€ I think) for about 15-20m.
I had heard they were going to discontinue it, so I stocked up. When I run out, which will be awhile I will give this one a try. Thank you for the information.
Thank you all for the clarity. I too love Tombow I use all the products. I am the type of person who doesn't like clutter and a multitude of "stuff", so this causes me to be picky in my selections and a longer time to pick the products that will best suit my needs. It's just a big bummer that's all. So now my dilemma is do I purchase all the refills I can find and use them all up or just call it a loss. I immediately tossed the packaging and the receipt lol. I have been using this for a year and I really like it, because the adhesive is just so strong. It also means that you don't have to place so much adhesive in order for things to stick together. However, I still find it hard to reposition once I've placed adhesive as the paper tears more often than not, so I only place it down when I'm absolutely sure. I do agree on it being very easily refillable, as I pop mine interchangeably with the non permanent version all the time. I don't think it's wise to use the non permanent version of this tape though, because it doesn't really stay put long enough as the adhesive is too weak.

Adhesive is definitely a girls best friend in card making, without a quality glue/adhesive things just don't stick like they should. Thanks for sharing this and I will be checking it out. A girl can never have enough adhesive. LOL

I JUST purchased the Tombow Stamp Runner, and I like it so much! Well, that's me....a day late, a dollar short, and late to the party. Golly. But, I have had ALOT of trouble getting the tape to feed properly through it, and I'm having trouble finding refills, so maybe it's ok in the long run. I do hope Tombow will continue its manufacturing of the smaller pink dot runner and the blue tape runner, because being arthritic, I use those a lot! Jennifer: HOW can we crafters keep up on all the latest news that affects what we do? If it were not for your video, I would not have known about the Stamp Runner. Thanks for the info. Best regards.
The way the new one refills is a bonus. That is what killed me about the Stamp Runner. I loved it as an adhesive but trying to refill it was a nightmare (no matter how many times I watched the tutorial). It's why I stopped using it as my primary and switched to ATG. But this looks much less complicated. I'll have to give it a try. I like my Stamp Runner for my planner so I'll need a replacement.

I never know that adhesive to use for different projects. I've tried a few types and I recently purchased My Stick tape runner, which I like so far, except putting in a replacement refill. A while back I bought a Scotch Advanced Tape Glider, which I find a lot harder to use than the tape runners. My problem is I don't know what to use it for. I purchased it on special and I did use it a couple of times. but found it tricky. Dows anyone know when or what I should use it? Thanks.
I'm so bummed! I just used mine for the first time about a week ago. I loved how it worked! I have arthritis so the size and shape were great and made it much easier to handle. I have found that if you huff on the two pieces of paper where they're being pulled apart and if you pull slowly they will come apart fairly easily. I've not done that on some that's been stuck together a long time but as I am working on a card and I stuck the wrong paper like maybe 30 minutes later I can pull them apart. I really don't know what kind of adhesive to tell you I use because I use lots of different brands - just whatever is nearby!
Debbie Stejskal I use the other Tombow tape runners. The pink mono dots runner is the same adhesive as the stamp runner, but just different packaging. The blue is permanent and the green is repositionable. I use the pink and the blue all the time. Hope that helps!

does it work well on thin paper e.g. simple A4 printer paper? I use a length of an A4 laser printer for addresses and printing return labels and want to stick that paper to cardboard or simple boxes, e.g. to return Amazon items. Will this work well for simple paper?

QUESTION, Jennifer … It’s been 5 years since you gave us this recommendation, but I went for it (in 2023). First couple of swipes all went well, but before I got all the way around the card edge, the thing (large, “long”, runner) bound up on me. SOOOO … I’m asking … Are you using something else?? My GO- TO for FOUR YEARS was the “slant nose” SCOTCH brand hand sized tape runners … ALL LEVELS of stickiness … but NOW the fools at 3M have given in to the bean-counters and NOW we have to deal with their lil stub-nosed, straight feed, dispensers, that CONSTANTLY BIND, WON’T TRACK STRAIGHT (which contributes to the binding, ‘cuz the adhesive gets wiped off into the edge of the opening … AND - ADDING TO MY IRE - E V E R Y Offering on A’Zon that LOOKS like my old favorite Scotch item arrives only to have been substituted with the UNACCEPTABLE VERSION. Your help in this matter would be MOST APPRECIATED!!!
I would love to know too. I have been using this for a long time and stocked up on refills. I just went to refill it and it won't work. It will lay down the adhesive for an inch or two and then the used tape won't roll in and it just keeps coming out of the runner. I tried three different refills as the ones I order last look a little different. I am so bummed as it seems to have been a big waste of money.

My GO- TO for FOUR YEARS was the “slant nose” SCOTCH brand hand sized tape runners … ALL LEVELS of stickiness … but NOW the fools at 3M have given in to the bean-counters and NOW we have to deal with their lil stub-nosed, straight feed, dispensers, that CONSTANTLY BIND, WON’T TRACK STRAIGHT (which contributes to the binding, ‘cuz the adhesive gets wiped off into the edge of the opening … AND - ADDING TO MY IRE - E V E R Y Offering on A’Zon that LOOKS like my old favorite Scotch item arrives only to have been substituted with the UNACCEPTABLE VERSION. Your help in this matter would be MOST APPRECIATED!!!
I would love to know too. I have been using this for a long time and stocked up on refills. I just went to refill it and it won't work. It will lay down the adhesive for an inch or two and then the used tape won't roll in and it just keeps coming out of the runner. I tried three different refills as the ones I order last look a little different. I am so bummed as it seems to have been a big waste of money.

(As I said…the 3M BEAN-COUNTERS have gotten their fingers into the pie, and so WE - THEIR L O Y A L CUSTOMERS!! - are left wondering where next we go to find c o o p e r a t i v e double-sided adhesive dispensers!!). If you’re telling me that the BRAND JENNIFER McGUIRE RECOMMENDED in this video is ALSO a crappy product, where does that leave us?!? We live in an extreme climate...very hot and very cold...will this work? We are finding out tapes fail and our cards are falling apart.
You might try “red line tape”. It’s not handy to use, but I think it might be trustworthy enough for your clime.
