This video is exactly what I needed. I've been using MacBook for 8 years but only recently got iPad from my employer. And frankly, using gestures in iPad was way less intuitive than I expected. I wish there was smth similar on iPad to the videos/animations which you see in MacBook preferences when you configure a touchpad.
Hi Olivia! Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but yes, you can do that. I use a four-finger swipe from left to right to go back, but you can also slide your finger from left to right on the bottom of the screen (you'll see a little bar there). Hope that helps! EDIT: I just realized that you are asking about going back WITHIN apps. Yes, but the way you do that will be app-specific. Like in Safari, there is a little arrow pointing to the left on the upper-right part of the screen.
@ethanwasme4307 A year later and I'm using my client's iPad, I'm very used to PC and Android, and there's still no easy "go back a page" button like in Dropbox. Just use android or windows. Heading a simple back button is magic compared to these gestures that don't do anything useful.
Thanks for compilation. Great help. Otherwise Its little difficult for Android user planning to buy ipad. Navigation in Android is no brainer. With dedicated buttons for Back within App, Home & recent apps.
On my android, when I play ML, I can change the volume of the game and the mic/speaker both at the same time but using the iPad, it's just one volume for both. How do I fix this?
Sorry for the late reply, but if you go to the Sound section of Settings, you'll see a toggle near the top that says, "Change with Buttons". Give that a try.
I use the four finger swipe for that to get back to a previous app I was using. You can also just swipe one finger horizontally along the bottom of the screen, from left to right to go back to a previous app (you should see a little white bar that you would put your finger on to swipe like that).
Oh I meant actually on a keyboard if connected to iPad then I came to know those are same buttons as alt tab as in cmd+tab. Thanks though your video was helpful.😊
I think its better *not* having a home button. Those home buttons wear over time. I upgraded from a super old iPad Air from 2016 not just because ios was unable to update further, but also because the home button was starting to stick. Even back then, there were ways to use the tablet still without the use of the home button and I resorted to having to do that. I think losing the home button is for the better. Just takes a little getting used to.
Thanks for this information! Trying to get around on the iPad was driving me crazy (just got it). All the swipes I’m used to weren’t working so glad to see how to navigate.
I disagree about not having the home button. Way easier to double tap the home button than the stupid screen not reading my gestures correctly and having to perform the gestures over and over again until frustrated. Absolutely the worst “upgrade!!!” Hate it!😖
How about simple back gesture?
Who needs that when you have 50 ways to switch between apps 😭
Do you mean going back within your web browser? Or do you mean going back to a previous app?
@@EverydayApple1984yaaah
Yes please tell me how to go back
@@EverydayApple1984 going back within the app like from viewing the images to going back to the album
Excellent video for a low functioning user. Thank you.

I just got a new ipad, but still love android gesture and multi windows app floating,
We all have our preferences! Sometimes it's just a matter of what you are used to.
Thank you sir, you’ve made an old man very happy😊
Is there a way to go back within apps like you can in Android or does the back button have to be programmed into the app?

@@EverydayApple1984 that's the dumbest thing all these fancy gestures and they don't have one for dedicated back within app

Watching on my new iPad…
Great for people like me from android ecosystem

windows android and ipad is a good combo
these gestures really seem to play a major part in an ipad's productivity power. thank you for an easy-to-understand guide! 💌
i think you swipe more to the right to get the notification shade within any app, great vid man... day-2 for me with my first apple product
Any volume up / down gestures while play yt for example or other videos?
Just put in volume settings on your assistive touch
Great start for my new iPad. Thanks!

Please share an explainer video on how to make videos and short films using ordinary captures and stills
Thank for the suggestion! I actually have this on my idea list.
Easy to understand. Didn’t know a lot of those
This is the best video l have come across!
how to hand gestures for auto camera shot?
Exactly what I needed. Will save for later.
thanks
another gestures ,,, if you do copy gesture twice , it will make cut
Thank you. I can’t stand the fact that apple will highlight the lens on a camera all day and highlight these fundamentals

Learned some new stuff. Nice, clean tutorial.
Do we have any gesture like alt +tab as we have on windows ?

That one guy at apple who said we might need a way to go back within an app… Android the next day: you’re hired!
Wow! Quite useful. Great thanks.

Yeah, it’s one of those personal preference things and if you love the home button, you will have a slight learning curve.
Too long to explain very easy simple things oh god😭

These iPads are so annoying
What do you find annoying? Just curious... Some people just prefer a laptop or desktop computing experience, I know.
If I am using Instagram and I have opened someone profile how will I get back from there to surf instagram
Just look for a back arrow at the top left of the Instagram screen. Tap it.
