  • The Marlin Model 336 is a lever-action rifle and carbine made by Marlin Firearms. Since its introduction in 1948, it has been offered in a number of different calibers and barrel lengths, but is commonly chambered in .30-30 Winchester or .35 Remington, using a 20- or 24-inch barrel. Currently, the model with a 24-inch barrel is only available in .30-30 Winchester. The Model 336 is currently produced by Remington Arms.

Wonderful,, occasionally check screws with proper fit driver to keep from any loosening.
Clean and oil, will last forever.

Great Vid..could you tell me what exactly is forcing the 'loader" upwards allowing the bolt to carry it into the chamber? My loader isnt loading..its not coming high enough for the bolt to catch it and carry it into the chamber. it hits below the chamber hole. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help

To me, it looks like the lever has a little 'spike' that, as you start pushing it back in, kicks up the 'v'-shaped tang on the bottom of the carrier. That lifts it for a brief moment, for the bolt to catch, and bring it the rest of the way forward.

i still can't understand how the ramp can fed up the rounds

The lifter looks like it's improperly animated.
Look at 0:36 where you see the blunt point of the "lifter" (i.e. the ramp) is intersecting with the front edge of the lever piece.
I think the lever piece is supposed to catch behind that point on the lifter arm (ramp) and when the lever is brought back up it would catch it and force the lifter arm up.
Pause the video at exactly 0:37 then press the "." or "," key on your keyboard to go forward and back one frame at a time. You can see the lifter arm barely raises the cartridge in time to be caught by the bolt to be fed into the chamber and the only way it could be lifted is if the edge of the lever piece was riding on that protrusion under the lifter.
