Cybertruck did much better than I would have expected. Actually, both trucks did considering neither were lifted and had only what looked like All Terrain tires.
Hi, thanks for comment. Yes they were both stock cars. I knew Rubicon could do it because Rocky Gap is a "Jeep Road", but very pleasantly surprised with the Cybertruck!
😢 You lost me in the first 15 seconds. Turned off the video at :56. I get the boxing announcer voice, but do it for just a couple seconds then go into a normal voice. It is wildly obnoxious and grating.
That was great! I generally park at 5800' and walk the rest of the way -- much faster! 10.8" clearance is stock for a Rubicon -- lots of folks get them lifted, but the mpg takes a hit.
@@Celessence I wonder how low you can go according to the manufacturer because it looked like you could go lower. Also the wrangler tire thread "looked" more aggressive.
Pretty cool video. Not really "Rock Crawling" more like washed out road crawling. Great match-up 4cyl Jeep open front and rear vs AWD Tesla. Tesla has independent front & rear suspension, much better ride then the strait axle Jeep. Thanks for the cool video!
Look at how squishy... yes a very technichal term for clearance, gear ratio, shocks, etc... The tesla just looks like it needs way more clearance to be out there.
@@waynehartlerode8936 actually the cybertruck has way more clearance than the jeep. It’s just so large. And Jeep’s wheelbase and rocker arms are especially designed for rock crawling. Squishy…. Well I mean… look at it lol
And the winner is.... Bronco! Lol I kinda left it open ended. Rubicon is def a boss of a rock crawler! Roads like Rocky Gap is what it's built for. IMO Cybertruck is def awesome on longer distance drives but with the battery mileage capacity, def have to really plan out with the charge stations when making really long drives cross states or going in more remote places. It does also monitor where you are looking at when it's performing self-drive, and will pull over if you "aren't paying attention" lol. Of course that may all change in the future.
@@PranksOnPranks ooooooh~~~ I wonder about the legality of pimping out your car when you are at work and then it brings you money driving people around…
Cibertruck at the very limit of it's capabilities vs a Jeep Rubicon that has swapped out street tires and even then barely makes an effort. If you want pure off-road capability, it is a no contest in favor of the Jeep. If you have no intentions on going on those trails, then it is not as relevant. I guess if you can burn 100k in a Cibertruck to compare to a Rubicon, then common sense is not very high on your skillset. Would love to see it out on the actual Rubicon trail. Bet they would lose a little more than some plastic parts.
@@Ecat429 Rocky Gap is our popular Jeep trail. The point is to see if Cybertruck could make it 🙂. We know Rubicon could. But making it into a contest just makes it more fun imo. Plus, I’ve been seeing debates whether Cybertruck could offer road… so we figure we gitter done!
What was the date of the ride? Cybertruck has had some updates since then. I'd take cybertruck over the rest hands-down. It has so much more interior room and comfort, it's so much quieter to ride in, especially in nature, and it has front cameras and some pretty amazing off road options that can be switched at the touch of a button. One thing that would have been fun to try would be to get out of the vehicle and use summon to have the cybertruck just follow you as you walk the most difficult sections. The European version of the cybertruck will have a shorter wheelbase, and one day there should be a jeep version I hope as that would be super cool. It's really interesting to see - as a 53 year old - a lot of initial hate for something new and innovative and different... But old geezers thought the same when cars went from traditional to modern back in the 50s. I live in Flagstaff, a college town, and most of my friends are in their 20s and 30s... With cybertrucks everywhere now these young adults are loving them and now thinking anything else just looks super outdated. And other trucks just look dated now. Elon isn't the greatest personality but he really does do what he said he'd do.
