    Even Sherwood’s more affordable sticks (for example the Code III I have which I spent a little bit more than $100 US for) are fantastic. I’m a Sherwood fan because I appreciate the quality of their stuff at a price I’m more willing to spend. For contrast, I’ve been disappointed by Bauer sticks in the $100-150 range. Don’t buy into the hype of Bauer or CCM, just get something that’s going to work without any BS or a high price tag!

      Canadian Tire bought out Sherwood in 2018. Their goal is for everyone to afford hockey. I have a couple Sherwood sticks myself (Rekker M60 and Code IV). I love them! Best bang for your hard-earned buck! Even my daughter's sticks are Sherwood. Heck, half of the players on my daughter's team sport Sherwood sticks. 👌🏼

      @Pepperton found the guy who works for bauer 🤣.
      Sherwood rekker 365 was awesome when I got a couple on wicked sale a few years ago. Both blades broke after a couple years

      My daughter couldn't find another 80 dollar stick that beats the Vapor 3.7. The Sherwoods just felt heavy with no pop at this price point. I also heard from an equipment manager in the AJHL that since they switched to Sherwood, they go through about 4 times as many sticks on average. I had a Rekker back in 2020, and I bought a new stick after two games because the blade felt mooshy, and the stick had the least amount of pop I've felt on a composite. Maybe the higher end models are better, but in the under 150 category, they seem to be lacking.

    Used to love Easton sticks, but switched to Sherwood. Can't beat the value.

    I picked both of these babies up after Tommy's review. They are absolute monsters. Such quick release!

    Do a stick by Hoapa. Super light custom stick that's suspiciously cheap - would love to know if they're any good

    I have both of these. Both are excellent. Even as a D man, I slightly prefer the rekker, I don't take slapshots though, mostly snapshots.

    sherwood 5030 is my go to, never let me down yet

  • @celticstephenhill

    I played with Sherwoods since I was a kid (started with the ol PMP 5030) and 2 of my last 3 were the EK60 and the project 9. I still think these twigs are the most reasonably priced, but since I got my CCM Ribcore Reckoner, I'm SO much more impressed with their quality than my Sherwoods. Not saying they're bad, but even their highest rated stick each year is as good as the third best from Bauer/CCM/Warrior/True.

    I have the code V and it is a great stick, very light and i honestly think its a better stick than a lot of top spec sticks like the ultrasonic or trigger 7.

    I used to be sherwood all day but for me what changed was when the diameter from intermediate to adult sticks didn't change. It made me leave their line. I have small hands and just handle the puck better with that slightly smaller shaft diameter. If sherwood goes back to giving me that option I'm back in a heartbeat.

    I love the code feel, but mine broke too quickly compared to other sticks. If it was just 1 that broke quickly I would figure it was just that stick, but 3 of them did, so I am moving on.

    My 75 lbs son broke no less than 3 Jr 45 flex Code TMP PRO sticks, 1st time taking them on the ice. They all cracked on the same spot, right above the heel. Ended up getting a full refund but I don't think I'll risk buying a Sherwood product again and have it shatter right after the 30 day warranty.

  • @seanlong9049

    Give me a 30 flex P28 rekker and I'd buy one for my squirt/peewee player today. They don't make them in a smallish 30 or 20 flex stick. My 10U player is starting to get good enough to benefit from the "right stick", but the don't make one small enough for him. Same problem with Bauer and CCM. They assume small and light players don't need anything but a basic intro stick and don't make any serious sticks with a 20 or 30 flex. I'm not going to spend $200-$300 on a too-stiff stick that I have to cut down for my little guy so we're stuck with a variety of generic $70 sticks that weigh twice as much as the sticks his teammates who are taller are using.

    This is the problem with hockey. A $260 stick is seen as a value.
    The price to play hockey is outrageous.

    • @martyvenida
      @martyvenida ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are two of their top of the line or elite sticks. Sherwood have outstanding offerings in the mid level and entry level price point.

    • @yellowsnowman9157
      @yellowsnowman9157 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@martyvenida you missed the point. When a value stick is $260 then the sport is broke. Especially for equipment that needs to be replaced regularly.
      Prices like this restricts access to many people.

    • @larrygrogan4408
      @larrygrogan4408 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yellowsnowman9157 , that’s brand new and by new I mean new release. I was looking at last years rekkers m90(?) and they were $150 or so. I didn’t get one because I already have four $300+ sticks that I bought as team stock leftovers. Two of these were LX pro’s for $150 each. Point is you can wait and buy last years or or older if you need a new ribcor 7 right now because a 6 isn’t good enough then yeah it’s going to cost you.

    hockey players are smoking straight fent if they think a 260$ hockey stick isn't ridiculously priced. i wince paying like 70$ knowing some dickhead is probably just going to step on the blade anyways. people think slashing or face washing is gritty, but i'll take that all day over having several hundred dollars wasted.
