Drying alcohols have solvent purposes in formulas, help keep a formula together and also help repel humidity in a product. And the amount is typically so low that it takes no negative affect to your hair at all. Sometimes even evaporates during the manufacturing process. Chemist used drying alcohols and other things for a reason and it’s definitely not to hurt your hair. “All things are poison, and nothing is without poison; the dosage alone makes it so a thing is not a poison.”
I have commented on a couple of you TH-camr curly channels over the last couple of years. I had been doing the CGM for about 7-8 years. Watching my hair go from thick beautiful curls, to thin stringy curls. Stopped the CGM and went back to what I call the Basics, stuff I was doing 30 years ago: wash, condition, put in a towel, gel, and fluff. I never knew 30 years ago it was called scrunch out the crunch. My hair has been slowly "healing". It took me a while to realized the CGM was ruining my hair. I like your videos btw.
Thats me right now, when i started the curly hair method, my hair was becoming more voluminous and had so much definition but now lots of hair loss, my hair is thinning out, breaks a lot and is all dry 😢
As a Millennial, I can’t do a middle part either lol. Off center/side part is my go to I was on the CGM for one week😂 too much moisture and my scalp immediately became itchy af from all the cowashing
when I was transitioning from heat-damaged hair, the CGM was heaven-sent along with the brand that shall not be named until it wasn't. my hair retracts ten times better when I break the CGM rules lol. LOVE your hair!
I'm so glad you mentioned the side / middle parts‼I used to do the middle part when I straightened my hair, but I think my hair looks better in a side part now that I wear it wavy/curly. 🥰
You made me realize that I don’t fully do the CGM anymore! 🤣 I do a lot of the same things you do. I’m a mom of 3 and I don’t have time to take 3 hours to do my hair 🤣 but I still don’t use things with silicones.. but now I want to try!
Felt you on the side part! I’m 20 and my hair just looks better with a side part. Also you can pull my black skinny jeans off of my cold, dead body. Love you India!
Drying alcohols aren’t always bad too, especially based on how much is present in any given product. Oftentimes they’re used so little that they’ll evaporate before we use meaning there isn’t any actually going into/on our hair😊
I have a short bob and if i don't soak my hair in conditioner or hair mask from roots till ends, I see minimum curls and lots LOTS of friz. And when i say soak, I mean SOAK! With the CGM my hair is simply wavy. No coils at all! Not everything works for everyone.
Curl primer. This was the first wash day I've ever used curl primer (and I used deep conditioner and the LOC method as well) and I got the biggest, juiciest curls I've _ever_ had. The curl primer I used was: TWIST Primed & Co 2-in-1 Conditioner & Primer from Amazon. I put it on my hair immediately after rinsing out my conditioner and then I put on my turban twist microfiber towel and then styled as usual. I saw a video from Curly Tay about curl primer which is why I did it and she got fantastic curls from it as well.
Your hair looks fantastic. I break some of the curly girl method rules because it works for my hair. I'm not a big cowash fan and find they don't remove the buildup from all the stylers I use in my hair during the week. I will have to try the DP hue acv rinse and the gloss. Hope you are well!
Girl I´ve been watching your videos through my own hair journey trying to revive my waves and I really need to thank you because the tips that you are sharing have been a game changer
I am a curly girl and the CGM caused me great issues. I need my creams….Blueberry Bliss leave in and EVA NYC Rock A Wave or AG Re-Coil depending on the season. I have to try the Ouidad, but love all my stylers. I am now going gray and that has its own challenges.
Beautiful results! I love the air dry cream too, I love that it's a one and done product for me. I'm intrigued by the hair gloss, but it's out of my price range for now, so I'll just have to admite your results!
I always love how beautiful your curls look, but sadly so many of your recommendations have fragrance in them which is an endocrine disruptor and really my only HARD RULE I won't break as someone struggling with fertility and also is just naturally extremely sensitive to fragrance (migraines, nausea, breakouts etc). Would love to see some more fragrance free recs that actually work from someone who I've been following for years and whose opinions and recommendations I really value. Anyways, love your videos and an glad to see rules being broken as not all CGM rules work for everyone's hair 😂
Many of us have been CGM.. I was for almost ten years but I broke rules! It helped hair health but then wrecked it that health. I have been watching your videos more of late. I wish I could find a week of curls & coils only found a week of waves so far. You do great refreshes for waves. So easy!! You have led me me this week to incorporate frizz! Lol! I'm fine, low density, low or medium porosity. Not sure & my hair stylist did not know what porosity even meant.. But, I made some frizz todsy. My hair looked thicker!! Woohoo!! I have frizz but it you do it deliberately & right..damn love it! 😁 x
First of all, thank you endlessly for the list of good and bad alcohols. Secondly, we have very similar hair. I too use heat and do it exactly the way you described. When I first started my wavy hair journey I did not use any heat. Now, it's been over a year and I don't have 37 hours to dry my hair. So, heat is necessary for MY hair. I just wish mine would wave or curl at the root more. I use the pulse method because my hair is so very similar to yours. Except it's red. Like a red head, not like a crayon. I use henna to dye mine. Pure henna, it's the only ingredient.
After trying and hating CG for years, I use a drugstore clarifying shampoo (suave daily clean) 3x a week and a silicone heavy conditioner, leave in conditioner, and gel. Never ever been happier with my hair!
I love the eyebrows !!! They are perfect for your beautiful face. Thanks for sharing !!! God Bless ps I have been doing the extra Squishing and it does make a difference.I mean Pulsing :)
I used to do the cgm but with the cgm shampoos or cowashes I had to wash my hair every day or every other day because of how greasy it was by then while before I washed it 2 times a week. Since a few months I started using sulfates again and my scalp and hair is much better now. I also dyed my hair again and with this hair color I'm feeling more like myself again
Hi! First of all, love your videos & I will definitely check out the Gloss! I'd prefer if you wrote the disclaimer that it's sponsored further above. It's just a little more obvious then! ❤️
Thank you India for your videos. I have spent sooo much money and time on the CGM. Hits and misses. I just have learned to embrace what I have, frizz and all. 3 products, JVN has a fantastic shampoo, shea moisture con, and pureology 21 leave in. Not in the CGC anymore. Will try that gloss. Thank you!
I break all the CGM all the time! I need to brush my hair dry…my hair loves sulfates and silicones And i apply a conditioner on my scalp to but it’s meant for the scalp..I think it’s derma E
Never felt a phrase more than cold diffusing and questioning your LIFE 🤣🤣🤣 GIRL, SERIOUSLY! And a fun little tell- I purchased the Conair Infiniti Pro during the 2020 quarantine. I bought 1, only billed for 1, and they sent me 3 THREE!! 🤣 I'm set for a long time and yes, I agree, it's a great dryer!
Loved these results! Honestly breaking the CGM allows me to have WAY more good hair days. Also, if you want to have another recommendation for affordable, great hair dryers, I've been using the Laifen for over a year and it's so good--it feels fancy and lightweight like the Dyson but it's so much cheaper
I just found your channel and love your videos. Absolutely love your hair! I wish I could get my type 2C hair to look as good and have as much volume. I'm curious, how often to wash your hair? I try and make it 3 days before washing mine but end up on day 3 with lots of frizz which drives me nuts (I hate frizz!). I'm 57 years old and up until a year ago I've always straightened my hair so I'm still learning. And yes, side part is the only way to go for me.
Love how well you take care of your hair. II would like to know if your hair is layered. Doesn’t look like it’s layered. How do you get your hair to curl, if it’s not layered.
In one video you used bumble and bumble hair bonding. That stuff is fabulous. You used curlsmith gel and curl talk crème. All of it is great including eve nyc 10 in one primer. My hair responded with lots of curls. I want to grow my hair out as long as yours. If you can get your hair to curl that long, maybe I can as well.
Great video but I'm not seeing all the products listed. What styling cream are you using? What gel? And I'd like to see the hair dryers you suggested as well. Thank you! 😊
I attempted to follow some of the rules at the beginning but who really has time to follow all of those ridiculous rules? I use sulfates sometimes, silicones all the time, use high heat on my dryer and guess what? My hair is still here and looks fine! I will have a middle part until the day I die. 😅
I tried doing the soaking wet thing and it did not work for my fine curly hair. I used to follow CGM and then decided I just couldn't. So now I mix it all up. I'm Gen X so agree with the side part.
I too dry brush my hair with my DIY homemade Ayurvedic hair oil and leave it overnight. I've been following this ritual since 2017 and till now I've had no regrets.
I’m Gen Z and I do a side part. I don’t want to see myself with a middle part 😖 like I don’t understand the hype I think side parts are more flattering.
Unrelated to this video but does someone know why India's video on books disappeared? Now that I've read some of her recommendations, I wanted to watch it again.
are you telling me that you can afford 4 hours daily, just doing your hear? i mean, your hair IS AMAZING. like mine used to be. but girl, i work like...50h a week, have a child and a dog, all alone, no family around me...I can't wait to go to bed. i have no time for this. imagine standing in front of the mirror...forever. i need a quick tip on how to at least...made it shiny? a bit more "alive" if not curly anymore and with that beautiful volume (i have the same hair color). nevertheless, i find your channel cute. ✌️
So basically, the CGM doesn't do anything for your hair, you just have great hair! I dumped CGM a long time ago after 5 years of faithful use. It actually might have been detrimental because now I can't my hair back to the state it was in before I started, and I liked it a lot better then.

I’m obsessed with the JVN brand. The air dry cream and the scalp oil especially. Can’t wait to wash my hair tomorrow and use these tips!
Felt you on the side part! I’m 20 and my hair just looks better with a side part. Also you can pull my black skinny jeans off of my cold, dead body. Love you India!
omg you are 20 but I’m naming you an honorary millennial 🩷 welcome to the best generation (;

Wow the shine 😍 I love your easy routines. Looks healthy and beautiful.

I also alternate hot and cold heats, so I’m not killing my hair. Also, I use Eva NYC 10 in 1 spray for heat protection.

Awww thank you for the eyebrow compliment 🥹🩷 & YESSSSS the pulsing is magic !!!!!!!!
I love you how your curls look 😍 so voluminous, shiny and wild.
Girl, you’re hair is gorgeous!

I love Lorraine’s curly world products. To me they are what Devacurl was before she left that company.
I agree 💯 dry brushing curly hair in the right way does more benefit than damage ❤
Hi speed, hi heat hover diffusing for the win. Ain’t nobody got time for anything else

It's just too hot of a summer to diffuse. I've been drying my hair standing / sitting next to my electric fan and it's actually working for me
I just found your channel and love your videos. Absolutely love your hair! I wish I could get my type 2C hair to look as good and have as much volume. I'm curious, how often to wash your hair? Your hair is so beautiful💕
When your hair is wet, it looks about as dense as mine, but I NEVER get volume like that except for bedhead 😅
love your videos! you had mentioned that you would put down prices for the hair dryers. I am so sorry, I don't see them, am I missing them?
Literally hate the middle part so much because my forehead is way too long. In about 5 years the side part will come back lol
Gorgeous!!!!

Curly girl Barbie. You’re so pretty. This is much more realistic. CGM is too strict.
Not only does your hair look fabulous, but so do your EYEBROWS! ♨
Hi India! You're gorgeous!!!
So are you 😍🩷
I attempted to follow some of the rules at the beginning but who really has time to follow all of those ridiculous rules? I use sulfates sometimes, silicones all the time, use high heat on my dryer and guess what? My hair is still here and looks fine!
I will have a middle part until the day I die. 😅
I haaaattttteeeee middle parts on me!!! I tried and I feel like the queen of hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Straight apple head. Nope!
I tried doing the soaking wet thing and it did not work for my fine curly hair. I used to follow CGM and then decided I just couldn't. So now I mix it all up. I'm Gen X so agree with the side part.

Can you recommend a good conditioner or mask for low porosity easily weighed down wavy hair
Wow! Amazing. What about flax seed gel as a natural gel?
Rules were meant for crushing >:))
Yassssss exactly 🫶
Have you done a seasonal color analysis? Would like to know what season you are
I LOVE BREAKING RULES❤😂
Excellents products. Hair is beautiful
Eu espero meu cabelo secar quase completo e uso pouco creme ou gel. Acho bem melhor e seca bem rápido
Love your videos and your swim top in this video! ❤ where is it from?
Happy weekend!❤❤
I’m Gen Z and I do a side part. I don’t want to see myself with a middle part 😖 like I don’t understand the hype I think side parts are more flattering.
wow.beautiful hair...
I don’t like being told what to do…I’ll do what I want, when I want. If something works for me, I’ll do it.
So, why are you watching how to videos? Lol😮
@@Harleyrider1976 I mean I don’t like being told what to do in the curly girl method and it being so restrictive. I like to do what suits my hair.
Happy Friday, India!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙💙🌷💖💖💖💖💖💖🎇👍.
Did u hear about jvn mold issue on that oil? Is that true?
Unrelated to this video but does someone know why India's video on books disappeared? Now that I've read some of her recommendations, I wanted to watch it again.
Another Millennial here, born in 1987, doing my side part everyday hating the middle part. 😁
Does it work on wavy hair too😭
Gen X side part!
Bought the air dry cream because of you and I LOVE it
Ahhhh I’m so glad you love it too !! It’s so stinkin good !!!
We didn't spend our whole childhood being against butt parts to swap to middle parts now. Side parter for life!!
I don’t know when all chemicals became just plain bad. Water is H2O - a chemical in its liquid form.
Btw ilysm
I searched indian curly hair and this video come of
Hello India 🙋
are you telling me that you can afford 4 hours daily, just doing your hear?
i mean, your hair IS AMAZING. like mine used to be.
but girl, i work like...50h a week, have a child and a dog, all alone, no family around me...I can't wait to go to bed. i have no time for this.
imagine standing in front of the mirror...forever.
i need a quick tip on how to at least...made it shiny? a bit more "alive" if not curly anymore and with that beautiful volume (i have the same hair color).
nevertheless, i find your channel cute. ✌️
I wash my hair once a week 🩷 and it takes 2.5 hours
So basically, the CGM doesn't do anything for your hair, you just have great hair! I dumped CGM a long time ago after 5 years of faithful use. It actually might have been detrimental because now I can't my hair back to the state it was in before I started, and I liked it a lot better then.
CGM is whack adoodle
First
Even though it’s none of my business, I think your procedure has aged your face. Sorry, hon.
Nobody is waiting for a comment like this. Please just don’t.
@Reginacrosco see she doesnt follow it either
