Your pond is just awesome! And your filtration room is insanely organized 😮❤❤

Super video Dave👍. Great explanation what you’ve done with the dosers 👍😊. Definitely going to do something similar so thank you for sharing this😊👍

      Thanks mate 👍
Hours of fun for those of us into gadgets and love testing thier water params everyday 😄
I'm probably going to upgrade to a wifi version after i've done my RO upgrade, as it's easier to alter the KH dosing via an app on your phone.
As feeding increases over summer so will KH demand.

      Thanks 🙂
You'll know all about it the good and bad points then 😊
It's probably most suitable to koi keepers who have used it in a reef tank enviroment, as that is much less forgiving.👍

Really good content, had the same issues with metals, used sodium thiosulphate going to try that API

      Cheers mate 👍
Just remember that EDTA has a much lower toxicity threshold than sodium thiosulfate.
Thats why most dechlorinator manufacturers don't use it.🙂

      Thanks Mareck, 🙂
As you already know as a reef keeper,
easiest way to dose bicarb for alkalinity is dialing in based on monitored KH levels 👍

      Cheers, 👍
I do have a proclivity for gadgets, and tinkering with a pond.
Worse now there's no black knight brushes to clean...
The drum filter does all the hard work, and i'm left twiddling my thumbs lol 😄

Do you think this could be used without the big blue?

    • @DavesKoiPond
      @DavesKoiPond  ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@johntasker9145 You can dose small amounts for trickle in, rather than chucking dechlorinator in once a week.
But there are some metals dechlorinators don't remove very well, even EDTA and Sodium Thiosufate,
And other chemicals and poisons that dechlorinators don't remove, arsenic, pesticides ect...
But Activated Carbon by sorbtion, and Bonechar especially by Ion swapping and binding them into the Hydroxyapatite matrix.
can remove a lot of different metal ions and flouride and chlorine.
So a dechlorinator alone is better than nothing, but not as good as using both to reduce metals , chlorine, and other contaminants too 🙂

@@DavesKoiPond Thanks for the information, it’s very helpful I was looking at getting a big blue but it all starts to get expensive especially if you go down the bone char route as well, I guess you can only do the best that you can afford.
      Thanks again Dave
P.S I also like tinkering I’am in the process of making a drum filter at the moment,
