Radar obtained exclusive body camera footage from the Melbourne Beach police officers that questioned Chastain, 33, in her home on June 13. Her friend Will was staying with her at the time, and can be seen in the video.

For everyone's information, since radar didnt fill it in. Kate was attacked and was defending herself, but because the other woman had more marks on her, Kate was arrested. Radar also got it wrong as this happened in Florida not Australia. I'm guessing that this sucks for any victim to be victimized even more by being arrested then having it posted on u tube without an explanation. Kate, you were so gracious, just as you always are. I can't watch this.. I called the cops on my ex who showed up drunk at my house. I had a sliding glass door that I thought he was going to break because he was hitting it so hard. When I opened the door i had unknowingly fucked myself. He had me in a head lock choking me and had a bat but I went to jail. Absolute bullshit. Protect and serve who? However they can make money
I had a similar situation happen to me years ago where I called the cops on an ex who was drunk and being threatening and abusive towards me, yet somehow I was the one who ended up in jail (for an entire weekend). I think that a lot of this is just spitefulness because of the false arrests men claim to have had made on them. Either way, it's total BS and a waste of tax dollars misdirected at the wrong person. Oh some of the Pricks do that, I live in Titusville Fl. and that happeded to my son and his fiance, they were fighting and someone called in on them and said that they had marijuana in their car, which they did , and they were disturbing the peace, but pot was in the trunk and they're not allowed to come and just pull someone over without reason and search their trunk they kept them there for an hour tearing her car up and still didn't find it the case got thrown out!

She is a consistently mean person AND a liar... when she spoke to Captain Lee about Caroline, she LIED by omission... we saw what happened and she only told him the part that made Caroline look bad and made her look innocent of any 'bad' (department head) management and behaviour.
SHE played a significant part in the way Caroline felt AND a GOOD manager would NEVER bully their subordinate, NO MATTER WHAT the issues were.

This whole situation sucks. However, I must say that these police officers appear much nicer & more polite than ive seen, or experienced, from other officers. It was nice of them to take the time to explain court, pretrail, bond release, everything to her. Let her have time to take her jewelry off & have time to talk to her friend & give him instructions. Typically officers WILL explain but they will treat ppl how they are being treated. If an arrestee starts getting belligerent by swearing, screaming, resisting arrest, making personal attacks on officers rather than acknowledging the officers are just "doing their job", the officers will be out of patience rather quickly. The more cooperative and calm the arrestee or suspect is, generally, the officers will do their best to be civil in kind. It's the old adage of the Golden Rule.

As an African American woman. I can attest to having been arrested several times for driving infractions. (Never DUI) I just got to the point where I do not speak. I tell them to do what they need to do. I call my husband to meet me either at the scene or the police dept. I record. They've never been that nice, and I'm not a bad looking woman. They've just NEVER EVER been that nice. I got my shit together now. I still get pulled over (racially profiled) but not arrested.

Hi Kate. Serving a warrant arrest we really never Mirandize. Miranda goes hand and hand with interrogation. We will also be recording on our person and in our vehicle and anything the suspect talks about regarding the crime will be admissible as long as it is not prompted by a question or inquiry by the arresting officer. Also I don't agree with it being poor practice not to do it because I believe good cops (most cops) only do things when they are necessary. And reading Miranda to a warrant arrest is almost never necessary. Respectfully.
