@@vicepresidentmikepence889 Actually I did. Very cold tough conditions but not as cold and tough as the Ice Bowl. Due to the underground pipes breaking and flooding the field, the Ice Bowl was played on solid ice. Try getting slammed to the ground by Bob Lilly on a rock solid icy field. And, back then the players didn't have the warming technologies in regards to clothing, equipment, heaters, etc that the players of today do. Read a couple of books on the Ice Bowl and get back to me.

They call Elway and the Broncos 'the drive'. No, this was The Drive. 64 yards across Siberian tundra, with the clock ticking down. And a teams legend on the line.

I live in Cleveland, and we had the 3ed coldest game ever. Behind Green Bay, and believe it or not Cincinnati. I am 26, so I wasn't around for the game. Green Bay started at -15, in Cleveland the game started at 0, and easily had 20-30 mph wind. Also it got much colder as the game went on. Those above numbers are why you play out doors. So chill to go back in time with this vid. Thank you to whomever put this vid together. As an asside: hello to the good people of Green Bay.

The GREATEST DRIVE in NFL History, to win the GREATEST GAME Of NFL History. As the Offense was going on the field for that epic drive, Hall Of Fame Linebacker Ray Nitschke Screamed hoarsely, "DON'T LET ME DOWN! DON'T LET ME DOWN!" A powerful moment. The huddle was even more powerful, as it was a place where everyone in the knew the deal. They knew they had to get it done. And did. Lombardi had pushed, prodded and screamed at them, all for that moment. They were basically perfect that drive. How they got it done is beyond comprehension, especially since the offense did absolutely NOTHING in the second half.

I won't romanticize about those earlier years of the NFL ... it would be too easy for me to do ... I know more of those old players by name and position (than the current players) because I collected cards as a kid back then. I laugh when I hear people try to make generalizations about players then, and now that might diminish or embellish one generation over another. It was fantastic entertainment then ... it is great entertainment now (in my not always so humble opinion). I feel blessed to live and to have lived in a country where I've been afforded such a "game" to share with friends and family.

The thing I always wondered about this game is how many people that attended in the stands went to their cars after it was over and had their cars not start, and since many of those lived 10 or more miles away, how did they get home being stuck in a small town parking lot at 4 PM when it's -20 degrees, windy, getting dark, and I'm assuming that even with every taxi driver working that day, it would have taken hours to get one to pick them up? Any hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, etc. that had working heat and/or fireplaces must have gotten a lot of business that night.

I believe the Sixties Packers could have played Football against a team comprised of Grizzlies and Polar Bears. AND STILL WON!! At the end of the game there would have been Bear carcasses littering the field. Listening to the comments, all you hear is the old Cowboys bitching about the weather. EVEN FIFTY PLUS YEARS LATER!! Not one negative word from the Packers. Of course, the Packers were more acclimated to cold weather. BUT, NOT FIFTY BELOW ZERO!! Lombardis coaching methods were so exacting and brutal, that any player who could withstand his regimen could outlast anything. That is what whipped the Cowboys. It is what brought down every opponent they ever encountered, in any game that ever mattered. The Packers lost their first championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Then never lost again in the Post Season!! Unrivaled to this day. Just as Vincent Thomas Lombardi remains Unrivaled as a coach.

A friend of mine named Carroll Dale played in this ballgame, and told me that. He also told me other aspects of this game that, obviously, you wouldn't know about, but the grid was on all night.
