    Can you do a video on the cross armed defense aka the lock, archie Moore George foreman style.
    It's a blocking style I haven't seen none of my coaches teach but seem very effective on the inside and allows you to attack from a parallel stance.
    Great video by the way

    The drop step is a very good technique to create angles to hit without getting hit. I would work on the body shot like a right hook to the body connected with a hook to the head, in order for him to drop those hands. There are very few chances in the amateur level that the opponent counters after the drop. He will probably stay in a defensive stance with his hands up.

    At 1:17 could this also been considered a drop shift into a squared Southpaw? Using the left lead (now the left rear) to drive a strike right into his gut appropriately, being that Nate is covering up the face.

      watch out for their power hand, shoot yours with your chin down shoulder up aiming a little under theirs aiming at their chin or chest to connect faster (if you happen to be shorter) this is what I would do although im no pro or trainer.

    • @zurxer1257
      @zurxer1257 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and yes it would be a very good counter for their jab, so bait them to throw it prior either by fainting your power hand, lowering your guard, or jabbing at their power hand.

      it's still effective and creates an angle but it's easier to see and react to for both sides when it's ortho vs SP.

  • @ozwaltreacts4709
    @ozwaltreacts4709 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm guessing this doesn't work if you are southpaw fighting an orthodox fighter? It seems like dropping into the angle would take you across the plane of attack for a one or two he's throwing. Am I seeing that remotely right?

    • @PrecisionBoxing

    Fan of your stuff, but i do have an issue with some of it. Nothing personal as so many others do the same but anyway... When you're breaking these moves down, your oppo is frozen. It's like the whole demo is there to show how awesome the move is. Well maybe, but IRL Nate's not going to be standing there like a statue, giving you time to drop and throw a right like that...
    Ideally i always think these moves should be demo'd in sparring after. So you do the run thru like this, then spar with someone who's unaware that you're going to do whatever move it is, and see you use it in real time, in a real spar situation... i guess that may not always be practical, but it'd really take these vids to another level.... LIke i say, pretty much everyone in combat sports does this frozen oppo stuff, so nothing personal and keep on with the vids!

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should ask your coach to employ this teaching method with you in your next lesson.

    • @danielpatrick3761
      @danielpatrick3761 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrecisionBoxing haha yeah maybe, but he's late fifties and let himself go massively since quitting, so cant see that happening anytime soon... Think is my point remains - and again it's not personal to you - that in these vids you show the 2nd punch, while the oppo is unreactive and frozen. It's like you've jumped a beat on him in time...

    Yo Brother JT, ayo, offa EACH of those dropsteps? TRUE, definitely are in a position to truly DAMAGE the opponent's face, either eyes, or nose, you could try to steal a mouthpiece it's whatever, but I notice in each of those motions, you're in a VERY CLOSE position to pack SERIOUS POWER in whatever punch/punches you choose, but I see that your opponent is TOTALLY GUARDING his head/jaw/face, but in doing so, you're in a position to use your proximity to pack some power in and basically STEAL your opponent's AIR with a NICE BODY BLOW, especially since his guard is UP, (he's trying ta be too pretty, LOLZ; I LIKES, I likes, hope MY opponents wanna keep their beauty TOO, because their AIR? Once stolen COULD basically end their opposition feel me?) since his guard is UP? Type of guy EYE am, Body, Body, HEAD would open that up all night for a cat like me. Just an observation. Continue on, by all means, I'm paying attention, instructor.
