I Saw the movie in theaters. If it was me at that house that shot the two teens, I'd take molotovs and burn the house down. Such savages don't deserve to live if they attack anyone outside.
I remember watching this in the cinema as a teen when it was released in 08', god, it was over the top but I did remember being scared of trees for a while...
I don't know if anyone else has already suggested it, but an alternative protective measure could be scuba gear. The full body suit could act as an extra protective layer for your skin and oxygen tanks may be easier to find than gas masks and air tight bunkers, especially in areas near the water.

watching this in a diff language makes it hit different, scenes that were funny because of bad acting became 600% better with our VA's taking it seriously that being said, what a trainwreck if i remember it right, in the script, the reason for them not being killed by the happening was because power of love, straight up.

hello i noticed you may have been confused by the "fake house" you talked about in the movie, here in america suburbs are built in large tracts and to help quickly sell them many will set aside "model houses" there are usually 2 or 3 of these and they all follow the same house layout of the overall suburbs, these are only used to help sell the houses to potential homeowners and would furnish them with fake items as the goal was to just show what a fully furnished house would look like, generally after most houses in the tract are sold these houses would be sold as well, just without all the fake furniture.
7:00 a lot of your criticisms around the middle of the video can be explained by the toxin's in-movie explanation: first it shuts off your will to survive (hence why he didn't cover the hole in the car roof, and why other people seem to be so mild about avoiding the toxin that they know will result in their deaths), and then it does some nonsense to completely reverse your survival instinct.
Actually he is not hitting on him he was saying that the 15 year old kid will not look like that forever he was insulting his looks which is another can of worms
Him talked about Canada me a thinking "buddy going to be a lot harder than you think actually get used to it" I am a Canadian born citizen the highest temperature I've ever felt is + 21 i think
The movie really never made sense, I thought it was going to be a zombie movie. If your allowing a plant to make you commit suicide something is wrong here. At the end you go out there and everything goes back to normal automatically, nearly the whole population of New York killed themselves, there is no way it’ll go back to normal. I’ve dodged many bullets and it’s ironic that plants are making people commit suicide because of neurotoxin. Everyone is built differently and I know for sure if I’m not going to die because of a plant tells me too.
