From my experience i can tell you that with strong subwoofer this metal shelf part will be still vibrating even if you put literally few kilograms of butyl mat.

Yes, I know, I experienced it too!
In the meantime, I made other changes and everything is much more fixed now, and I also installed a more powerful subwoofer!
By building that support, I automatically strengthened the metal structure of the car, which is very thin!
I insulated both above and below with vibroactive, and with that absorbing phono sponge, I replaced the screws with long waves that pass on the other side, and again with phono sponge on the bottom, everything is much better now!
But yes, it is not a very stable structure, you should modify more to strengthen that thin metal of the car well, but for me it is perfect!

@ElektroGamer30 nice ! Did you do any measurements?

    • @ElektroGamer30
      @ElektroGamer30  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@Jake-kb2le I made some measurements, it seems that the base frequency is 40Hz, which can go down to 26hz, and it still resonates well for a freeair subwoofer!
I need a DSP with at least 4 channels + one subwoofer to make everything sound perfect, but for all the changes I made to this car, the sound is now amazing compared to how it was before!
400w rms subwoofer + 4 speakers of 80w rms + 2 of 40w rms as if, and another 2 of 50w rms as if!

@ElektroGamer30 your subwoofer goes all the way to 26 hz without major drop ? If so thats very nice. Can you share the name of the sub ? What about distortion? I have similar setup but distortion is noticable, it gets better if i put bricks under the shelf and lift it with car jack so it pushes and stiffens it.

      I use a pioneer subwoofer
TS-A300S4, was bought only for testing, to see if it sounds better with a subwoofer that knows how much freeair, look at the video with the subwoofer:
      th-cam.com/video/HDdWZ0QUCno/w-d-xo.html
I have no distortions, I use a quite ok amplifier for this subwoofer, and as I said before, I reinforced the board with that layer of insulator, both above and below!
The vibrations disappeared considerably after their installation, but what made the most difference was the support I created!
I have a friend who mounted a 25cm subwoofer without a support, it was mounted directly in the hole in the metal part and he had problems with the distortions caused by the vibration of the metal on which the subwoofer sits.
In my case, the support is quite large, made for a 30cm subwoofer, and fixed very firmly to the metal part, it actually sits quite well, that is, it considerably stiffened the metal part of the car!
Look here video with the design of that support!

can you show where you got the wires to hook up the 2x 2ways speakers on the sides of the rear deck

Hi, I made a video with all the redone connections for this car, but I didn't have the time to edit the video and post it!
I connected a 4-channel amplifier to the rear door speakers, and the normal radio outputs were put to the 2 front door media speakers, and the other 2 were to the rear speakers, the ones in this video!

this foam doesnt look like butyl mat, so its probably bad for vibration, screwing your speakers to this extremely soft plywood aint great idea as well.

    • @ElektroGamer30
      @ElektroGamer30  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Hello, in the meantime other changes were made, the screws were replaced with long ones that go on the other side, everything was fixed better, another vibroactive layer was installed, and a row of sponge, sound absorbent, is not harmful, it is even a very good antiphon!
And it was an experiment, which showed how a pretty good upgrade can be done!
There will always be things to do better and better, but all with time and experience!

What was the size of the original speaker ? Great video!

    • @ElektroGamer30
      @ElektroGamer30  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you very much!
As for the size of the original speaker, I'm not sure but I think it's 25 cm!
But the difference between the original subwoofer and the one installed by me, which is a cheap 30cm speaker (it cost 15 euros) is very big!!
The new subwoofer responds much better to low frequencies, the bass is much stronger and livelier, not just frequencies above 50hz as the original does!
In the meantime, I replaced that speaker with a slightly more powerful one, pioneer 500w rms, but it was a not very inspired choice!
I had to get a more expensive one, 130+ euros, of 1kw that can sing in free air!
But maybe with time I will change it again! :)
I recommend this change if you feel the need for more bass in your car without making too many investments!

With pleasure, I will also post with the new speakers with the whole part of pulling new wires for the speakers and connecting them to the amplifier!
In total, the air car has 4 tweeters, 5 speakers with integrated tweeters, 4 bass speakers, 2 of 20 cm and 2 of 16.5 cm, and the bass speaker of 30 cm!
The car is acoustically and thermally insulated!
All the procedures are posted on my youtube channel!
If you want to see them, here is a link with a playlist of all my videos!

@@1drbulpeter1 Hello, yes, I finished everything related to the audio of the Audi A6 C7.
I replaced all the speakers and tweeters, I added 4 new speakers that the car didn't have. I bought a 500w RMS subwoofer.
The sound is very clear and very strong.
I am now on vacation. But when I come back I will edit all the videos and post them.
Today the video will appear with (How to make a support to mount a 30cm subwoofer instead of the original subwoofer.

@@1drbulpeter1 The sound system on my car had the classic 5.1 system.
It was not a BOSE or B&O system.
I used an amplifier for the door speakers that were replaced with 80W rms ones and to amplify this subwoofer, which in the meantime was replaced with a 500w rms one.
You can use a small mono amplifier.
I assure you that the difference between the original subwoofer from Audi and a subwoofer of over 200w mrs, is a huge difference.
At least that's how it was in my case.
