Tips 1. Try and force 4:3, 3:2, or 16:10 black bars and use a custom resolution (I use CRU) as low as you need set at a 24hz refresh rate. In most games a squarer aspect ratio will lower the field of view and offer a tiny bit of extra performance, even in 3rd person games! Setting to 24hz refresh will act as a framerate cap so you don't have to cap the ingame framerate; if you manage to get a locked 24fps it will look more smooth than if you had your refresh at something else. 2.
