The old way of politics in Africa is destroying the continent, the corruption, tribalism, nepotism and mindsets must change. The African youth must rise and take their rightful positions.

Ignorant statement. Most thriving countries do not have youthful people seeking publicly funded offices. If anything, we should reduce political offices and the tax burden that comes with them. In western countries, politics is left for experienced older hands. The youth should be out there innovating and creating personal wealth!

@@Maweresistance The youth should be the one controlling the government instead of corrupt and greedy old people.

Can the old create wealth and innovation. Yes instead of clinging to power, stealing the public funds and depriving the youth of tomorrow the hope of tomorrow.

@@Maweresistance I totally second your sentiments. People expect the government to create jobs for them turning it into an enterprise as opposed to the government relying on the enterprises to take care of the its people the youth included. The government is forced to create shitty parastatals to accomodate their cronies and create an image of job creation in the end increasing the tax burden.

What I've learnt and put in to mindset over the years of growing up in Africa is never to depend on the government and find a way of making individual money cause the government will never remove you from poverty,Never!

I like the debate. However, I would like to talk about what African leaders tout out there of having one currency, one bank, and connectivity in terms of infrastructure in Africa like the EU. I want to submit that the problem in African countries is leadership, as long as that is not addressed, nothing serious will come out of the common market. Let them address the leadership debacle & everything else will fall into place!

politics is not agreement its just healthy disagreements even china communist party has factions based on iterests so does all political class allover the world..the problem u have is an inferiority complex saying only african politicians are making mistakes...they all make them n havent u noticed y a common market is better? coz u need numbers to call urself a powerhouse n population that trade among themselves not just a small country selling raw products..

Agree with Mr. Osiany. Trade time for value. Get employed based on value. What are are you bringing to the table? That's the mindset the youths shouls have. Second, leadership is visionary and not myopic. Unfortunately our leaders are blurred from this reality. Kenyan leaders are not utilizing the youthful workforce. Sadly, we only use them to chant our slogans and alutate violence and chaos during campaigns. We are losing brilliant minds to countries like Canada and Germany. Simply because we don't groom them to become leaders of tommorow. This can be done through succession planning. Lastly to the youth, leadership is a process not an event.

Am sorry but the payout has been to their direct pockets! Kenyans want to leave no matter what government is voted in!! We as Kenyans need to unite and choose leaders that will actually lead us out of this chaos!!!!

  • @Maweresistance

This is what stagnates Africa! Western countries leave politics for EXPERIENCED proven hands. The youth should be out there innovating and getting leadership experience. We cannot see taxpayer funded offices as a source of employment. If anything the youth should be advocating for a reduction on political offices and the pay that comes with it. We are staunting our productivity when everyone is seeking political office.

While I am delighted that such a forum exists, I am also disappointed that it takes a western median house to organise one. Kudos BBC 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. To the Kenyan media brigade, this is grossly underwhelming 👎🏽.

You need money, network and narrative , the panelist missed the point, I do not agree with it and i guess that is why he is saying leaders of tomorrow and laugh. You need a vision for the narrative , work on social capital not necessarily network and if it means the same that is okey. But the money thing , this is how you deny the young the chance. I admire Osiany , you must not just sit at the table , be remarkable, present your case not just seating and colluding to others , yes the thing is add value

What is the strategy expanding elsewhere in Africa today for the participation of politcs of their country with out involvement of experienced leaders of their own Country ?
The African investment of their own countries political,Economic and social situation is good thing but Without their own country experienced leaders the discussion my leads to easily brainwashing and even maybe causes systematic divisions among very young African adults with most experiences Society
Think critically before it is too late
