Why did Jay record this track solo?
“During this pandemic lockdown I got a request for this one solo acoustic so went down the road to Cobb’s and set my mics up outside and tossed the cable ends to into his studio doorway. The densely wooded holler was really reverberating my voice back to me on the louder parts of the song. You can hear the birds and the dog barking throughout. I left the cables, grabbed my mics and split after a couple passes. I think we had it on the first take but one of those old twin prop planes flew low overhead so that was that. I’d rolled up a sock over the guitar mic to block out the breeze but in the end my picking touch is just too light so I had to track some additional guitar back at my house which inevitably led to a couple quick backing vocal passes which led to percussion, etc. It’s definitely got that home recording vibe.” - Jay Buchanan to American Songwriter.

I haven't really connected with the music of my generation, early 90's blind melon,pearl jam, nirvana. Other than that all I listen to is real music from the 60's,70's. Until I came across Rival Sons, all you guys have without a doubt brought Rock N Roll back to the top exactly where it belongs. The music, and lyrics hit so close to home, and I can't thank y'all enough.God Bless Y'all, and everyone else who really cares.thanks again.

Jay Buchanan probably has one of the best voices nowadays. Its intensity and strenght is hard to beat. Everytime I listen to Rival Sons, their music touches my soul.

Really great acoustic song. I have yet to hear the original so I'm definitely going to check it out. This band is awesome I recommend people to check them out often because they are extremely talented. I could see them getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame one day. Had tickets to see them in May before the storm hit. This awesome version of the song will have to hold me over until Rival Sons rocks again.
