Brianne!! This is FANTASTIC!!! Your smile and energy is just contagious!! This is a great tutorial - and I really like how you walk us through learning to play this song - and you've put together a really good, easy arrangement! You and I approach music so much in the same way! That is awesome!! Congrats on an awesome tutorial of "The Entertainer"!
Girl!! I can't wait to I learn this piece just can't wait I'm in the alfreds music book about 5 more pcs to go before this song. Thank you so much for your patience on utube it's going to take me a little while before I learn it I started learning piano late In life, but I learn the pcs and again thanks for your patience great teacher you are😊
This is a little too 'easy' for me but as some of the others have mentioned - you have an infectious energy and an obvious love of music that bleeds through in your approach to teaching the basics. That charismatic charm I think in itself would help people absorb some of your love for the piano and make learning songs like this much less challenging. Scott Joplin and Rag-Time music in general is insanely challenging and not something in my personal wheel-house - the left hand chord and bass note jumping is a skill I doubt I will ever acquire. This arrangement gives people the melodic flavor of Joplin's classic but makes it a tune you can sit down and play without much effort. Keep up the good work. If you enjoy Rag-Time - one of my favorite artists is a Scottish chap from Canada named Gowan - he performs this lively piece in a lot of his live shows which is no doubt (despite the repeating motif) challenging to play! th-cam.com/video/RUNBfwI-Odo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the kind words Blair! Yes, my tutorials & videos are mostly focused on helping brand new beginners at the piano (I know "beginner" can be a bit of a relative term!) Yes, rag time has some crazy LH jumping! Sometimes I wish my hands were a bit larger to get those jumps haha!
@@ThePianoPath Haha you and me both!! My tiny nubs aren't quite genetically 'adequate' for piano playing. I often watch tutorials especially of some of the Jazz players and think to myself 'are they stretching a 14th or 15th?'.....an octave is about my limit - at least cleanly. Keep up the great work. Look forward to catching your future videos. All the best!
Thanks so much.
My daughter is very excited to learn from your resources.
