I don't care what anyone says or thinks, this song absolutely rocks in my eyes, and I adore it for existing. It is such a bold piece that is unapologetically creative! :D
IMO, the idea is really tight and gives a dope flow, especially in the intro, but am not a huge fan of the sound design or the dissonance in the drop. Its dope to see more people breaking the 4/4 signature of EDM
I think this is a great comment, but I would say that instead of "good", I would just say what the artist wants to make. Because even though I do this this is good, when talking about music, "good" is such a subjective term.
@O b s c u r e ? It really just sounds like you aren't adjusted to it. It does have structure even if it isn't obvious. It has different sections to the song, As and Bs and the like. It's kind of the point also to feel off.... if you didn't get that.

He was at this rave I went to not too long ago, and I remember him playing jazz and then he switched it up 💀 the transition was so smooth will never forget
As weird as this sounds, this song is HUGE for the dubstep community. Mostly the edm and production side of music have been heavily “anti-theory” and showcasing what is possible (although a bit of an acquired taste. (I like it tho)) has helped pull the genres and their respective sub genres out of stagnation. Although most will not do what is shown in this song, it will inspire people to be a little more curious about theory!
Polyriddim is a music theory masterpiece. It combines multiple meters, literally thousands of poly rhythms, and an impressive selection of sounds to make the music that you hear. The song first starts out in 4/4, with a piano sound; however, as it build into the 7/4 section, the piano sound becomes more detuned. Once the 7/4 section hits, another pluck sound is introduced to provide a sense of change in addition to the shifting time signature. A reese bass is added to create a sense of powerful low end. The 7/4 section is played for around 8 measures before going into a glitch break. Once 3 measures of glitch have played, a kick pattern leads into a vocal. Then, the true mastery of the piece is revealed. The main sound is a bass chord that is simply pitched up and done. At first, the rhythm remains the same, and very straight. After 4 measures however, it becomes incredibly polyrhythmic, adding in tuplets such as 7ths, 5ths, and nested tuplets. This continues for around another 16 measures. Within the drums, it takes a simple dubstep pattern, but shortens the last section down a quarter note. This continues for the duration of the drop. After the drop, the piano sound is reintroduced in a 4/4 pattern, with the same buildup to the 7/4 as before. The 7/4 repeats as normal, but the drop is changed. More polyrhythms, tuplets, and variation in the bass notes ensues, creating an ever-shifting chaotic mess of notes that renders the listener incapable of feeling the pulse without the drums. This continues in the same pattern as the first drop, but the outro switches to a 4/4 pattern to take the listener back to a comfortable place to listen. That is my music theory spiel on polyriddim.
@@Gengar-2it honestly what makes the song Lets be real, the off kilter vibe would be runined if it just outlines a c minor chord or whatever It would just be a different song
@@tacticalidiot175 it does, it just changes every other measure LOL 4/4 is the standard anyways it's funny watching ppl try to headbang to some fucked up beat whenever i spin riddim
I need more polyriddim, it is the most original and innovative thing that I have hated. If polyriddim really becomes a genre, I hope it stays with that characteristic sound and 7/4, music and especially dubsteo need to be renewed and this is the moment that people began to appreciate music in its different forms
First of all...There is not only 7/4 in polyrhythm music Making only 7/4 tracks would be boring and stressful to produce too It would sound like generic riddim but with a different pattern No That track was made to make dubstep more diverse, you know? You can make 5/4, 6/4, 9/8, 11/8, 10/8, 17/16 music It would still be Polyriddim
@@kalliboymusic no, no and no? Ndjdjdjdjd Ok that's your opinion and I respect it. At that time it was the first time I heard something like this within some derivative of dubstep and it really impressed me, my opinion doesn't change, it would be great more music like this and not necessarily in 7/4, because as you say and it is obvious there is more than just 7/4, that you find it boring or difficult to produce doesn't mean that the rest has to seem the same. That a lot of polyriddim in 7/4 would be monotonous? Well, dubstep in 4/4 itself is monotonous, I don't understand what the problem would be then. And obviously there can be riddim in 5/4, 6/4, 9/8, 11/8, 10/8, 17/16, I never said it wouldn't and I never said it wouldn't be polyriddim. But well, don't think that your opinion is absolute. Hey Phonon. Are you: 1) A jazz musician or someone who enjoys jazz? 2) A Berklee student/graduate? 3) Jacob Collier? 4) Any combination of A, B, and C?

I don't care what anyone says or thinks, this song absolutely rocks in my eyes, and I adore it for existing. It is such a bold piece that is unapologetically creative! :D
IMO, the idea is really tight and gives a dope flow, especially in the intro, but am not a huge fan of the sound design or the dissonance in the drop. Its dope to see more people breaking the 4/4 signature of EDM
check out THE ODD MOVEMENT on Facebook or the artist 6 Foot Signal on soundcloud. He mostly mixes and produces odd time of every genre.
same, like the idea of the song and execution was good but damn bruh, change up the sound on that synth or something
yeah I love the idea but the drop synth definitely feels empty... would be nice to hear some more riddim patches
And thus we reach the divide, where an artist must decide between making what is good and making what is popular. Don't let the haters get you down.

Pretty much
But the song is good tho
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Polyriddim. The layout is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical music theory most the the song will go over a typical viewers head. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this song to realize they are not just cool, but say something deep about life. As a consequence people who dislike Polyriddim are TRULY idiots, of course they wouldnt appreciate, for instance the genius in the ding sound of the song. Next level. Im smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion at the time change. What fools, I pity you. Only people within 5 IQ points of my own vat intellect can enjoy Polyriddim.

The lead in the drop sounds like the narrator singing as the krabby patty approaches in the krusty Krab training video
LMFAO YES

I need more polyriddim, it is the most original and innovative thing that I have hated. If polyriddim really becomes a genre, I hope it stays with that characteristic sound and 7/4, music and especially dubsteo need to be renewed and this is the moment that people began to appreciate music in its different forms
No...No and No
First of all...There is not only 7/4 in polyrhythm music
Making only 7/4 tracks would be boring and stressful to produce too
It would sound like generic riddim but with a different pattern
No
That track was made to make dubstep more diverse, you know?

It would still be Polyriddim
@@kalliboymusic no, no and no? Ndjdjdjdjd
Ok that's your opinion and I respect it.
