Oh wow what a question! I think I'd have to pick two, the one I use the most is a bent chisel with a flat end, it's very versatile. Then I think I'd pick a small-ish gouge with a high sweep, or more semi circular shape, as they're great for getting rid of waste.
This is incredible! I've always been a big fan of fantasy and dungeons & dragons. I have always been interested in carving at some point, but I think this video has finally given me the inspiration to actually try and get started this winter. Really awesome work, keep it up!!!!
Very nice work and very inspiring. I would like to make a gift for someone (wooden fountain pen), no deadline, so I have plenty of time. I am quite crafty, but I never did woodworking before. Most videos I looked at use a lot of electric tools and a lathe, which obviously I don't have. This video gives me a bit of my hope back, that I can wood carve something with more accessible tools that you also use😊 thanks!
@@ClintRoseCarving thank you for your encouragement, I appreciate it. I've watched multiple of your videos and I enjoy them very much. Can't wait to see more in the future!
Another master piece from you Clint and a cracking video production👌.I had the same problem with a coping saw blade cutting out a hole for a yarn bowl , I couldn't remember where I put them and by the time I found and fitted it in, it was time to pack up for the day Lol Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas ,take care Bram
What drawing group are you in? I was in a photography group that did weekly prompts and it really helped me improve. It would be nice to have a carving group with prompts as well!
Beautiful work 👏🏻 greetings from Lebanon.
Thanks very much!
Phenomenal!! If you could only recommend a single one-handed chisel for intermediate woodcarvers, what would it be?

What a brilliant vid. Thanks Clint, you just get better at this with every installment. And 'handy graph' - I see what you did there.

Great work. You make this look easy. I am just getting into wood carving figurines now.
Thanks! Well I hope you can have a lot of fun with it
Another good video.
I enjoy the touches of comedy in the videos. It's always great to see how these turn out as I only catch small snippets on twitch.
Hey thank you I appreciate that
Love the intro mate! Classy vid once more. Here's to a woody 2022!
Cheers John! And thank you for being in the video!

Saw dust in the keyboard…ahhhh!
Haha thankfully the keyboard is still alive and well!
Great video
Thanks very much
That's awesome!
Thank you Andy
This is so beautiful I want to cry. Really well done, hope I can find the resources and time to create carvings as good as yours.
Haha thank you that's so kind and I hope you can make whatever you wish
@@ClintRoseCarving can I ask what kind of wood you used and how you got it?
I'm using lime wood here which is basically the same as basswood. I bought it from a timber merchant here in the UK called Interesting Timbers I think
@@ClintRoseCarving Thank you for the answer. You've inspired me to use my old knife again, I'll try to carve a knight figure just like yours.
My pleasure, thank you for the interest I appreciate it. I hope you can carve something you're proud of
Beautiful
Thank you

It was called Knightober on Instagram, I think someone called Jane Winters made the prompt list
