    For touring long, I would also consider repeatability and the availability of parts.
    If I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken bike, I think the Himalayan would have a better chance of getting repared locally, if an RE service centre is far away.

    Same confusion I too had. When scrambler booking started, I had no doubt as to which bike to book and I booked one. Then when I got the news of Himalayan launch I started getting into double mind as to which one go for. My confusion aggravated because I I already have 2 street bikes; interceptor and Duke 390. I badly needed an off roader, which is good even on highways.
    But the moment I saw Itchy Boot riding Himalayan all my doubts were cleared and I decided to go with Himalayan for sure. That is how I booked Himalayan. Now both in my mind and heart only one choice is left. For now only Himalayan!

    5:05 regarding low end torque - they have published torque curve, it’s similar to old himalayan but producing more torque than the himalayan throughout the curve. So I think the low end torque will be better than the old himalayan eventhough it’s not long stroke. Will lose the sound though I guess.

    Bulu bhai. I’m from keonjhar.. thinking about triumph over RE. Triumph bbsr is about 160 kms away. But i think overall it is a good bike. I don’t have any existing vehicle. Otherwise i would have gone for the Himalayan. The off-roading heart wants the spokes and the mind settles on alloys…

      Don't Go for Triumph the Service quality and the overall behaviour of Bbsr people are not good. I have booked speed 400 and cancelled it and they are now playing with me and it will be a pathetic situation of service bcoz 160 km is more distance.. Personally l feel that I have CB 350 RS in my town no BigWing is here it's a great trouble for me... My openion please go for a bike which service centre near to you... I really want the himalayan for those ability. Service centre is near 6kms or so. But I don’t have a existing bike. If i have to choose a singe vehicle with some ability to wander the treks and roll the traffic , that me (5’10”) and my father (5’.7”) both can ride comfortably then i think Triumph is better.
      One of my friend has a BMW 310 RR . It’s a awesome bike to ride in highway. Off course even if the service quality is excellent , the serviceability is very less and pricey too.
      I’m all the way confused . Didn’t get the test ride yet . If i feel like riding that bike in oblivion then I will get it for sure . If not I’ll dump it over the quality and looks.

    SCRAMBLER 400X is overall a smarter choice.But small fuel tank size is a let down. Also its seat height is a big let down for short people. And no, "learn how to ride tall bikes" is not a solution. Himalayan 452 has optional 805mm seat too which is not the case with Scrambler 400x.

    Bulu bhai, what do you think about the low height of exhaust in Himalayan. They are claiming higher water wading capacity but has gone with short exhaust. I live in a flood prone area where water levels reach 2-3ft. Even cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, etc. are also facing floods these days with water levels going above 3ft. While riding a bike with short exhaust through flooded regions we need to be mindful to keep the engine running. If engine stalls then you are doomed. Many people in my region are buying X-pulse considering it's higher exhaust pipe level. Most of the ADVs I have seen are having exhaust pipe kept at a height. I wonder why RE has decided to keep such a short exhaust in the new Himalayan which is even a downgrade from the existing Himalayan.

    • @drury2d8
      @drury2d8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new air intake/filter is a lot higher. Better wading if you know how to ride lol, else, get a dinghy.

    • @TomAlexV
      @TomAlexV ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SrcTrustMeBro I live in a flood prone area where we experience floods every year for almost a month. I have used several motorcycles through flooded roads. One thing I have observed is that higher exhaust pipe is a must have feature for such conditions because if engine stops midway while passing through flooded regions then there are higher chances that it won't start until you drain water from exhaust. So you need to pull the bike through the water till you reach dry ground. I have seen similar issues in Bangalore also during floods. In case of KTMs you can see underbelly exhaust in Duke series for adventure series they have provided higher exhaust pipe. Why they have to do that if it was not an issue.

    In one line it can be told that Himalayan can do everything what scrambler can do but scrambler can't do all the things that can be done by Himalayan.

    For automobiles professionals standpoint, they might feel that these two bikes are of different segments and the comparison will not be fair. BUT,
    For a single vehicle garage mindspace of a regular Indian buyer, the things that you mentioned are the thoughts one will think to put the hard earned money for a buying decision.
    Interstingly, if we change the voice in this video with the same words, it will feel like 2 friends talking to each other on deciding which one to buy.
