- Todays budget brew is a staple of the Simic Syndicate, money laundering. Vhal paired with Raised by Giants brings us huge (pardon the pun) advantages and with just a few other cards in place turns into an infinite mana, card draw, and exiling machine. This deck is insanely fun and usually pops off around turn 5 or 6 sometimes sooner if the hand is perfect. We have redundancies for most of our pieces or ways to protect them making any combination of the pieces we can obtain along the way all upside. Not to mention this deck comes in at under 16$! An absolute banger to add to any deck collection, new players arsenal, or someone whose just looking to get into combo’s.

As soon as they were spoiled I designed a Vhal + Cultist of the Absolute deck intended on winning as fast as possible, maybe even for duel commander. Never got it out of paper since it was a one-trick pony and would get old fast, but it was a nice concept. This takes it one step further, think I'm gonna revisit it
This was by far one of my most powerful and favorite brews. The deck in testing was going crazy and the strategy is interesting and unique I felt 😅 glad it inspired you to take another look

i have this almost deck and almost same build, i did add walking ballista and some other mana dumps but love it !!!

Seems like it has a lot of potential for a hyper-budget and very straightforward staff of domination combo deck, in which case a lot if the creatures and spells would get replaced with artifact tutors and cantrips
Yeah but that’s just if you wanted to streamline the deck and tune it up even further. Staff of Domination should have been in the upgrades, thank you for reminding me of that card! 😁

Definitely gonna be making this deck and simply call it "Tax Evasion". Seriously though, this is an incredibly fun concept and i cant wait to make my table hate me for it 😂

My Vhal is not budget at all, but is really fun to play with. I dont like to play combo, so my deck is full of ways to cast cards from anywhere else but my hand, and it can explode in a lot of ways.

The deck is great! What would you consider as first cards to cut for upgrades?
Depends on what upgrades you’re trying to add first but retreat to kazandu, steady aim, ornamental courage, spring/mind, Gyre Engineer, ornithopter of paradise again just depending on what you are adding. Good places to start

Well, got this along with Urtet (and tekuthal and Hidetsu&Kairi for my friends).
Decided to change some of the less effective filler stuff for crashing drawbridge for haste, fungal sprouting and overwhelming stampede, for an alternate wincon once our girl is big enough

Nice video, could you make a video with Liliana being the commander? I don't know much about mtg and want to get started but I really liked the lore of Liliana, is she viable as a commander?
Definitely a viable commander 😁 unfortunately without a rule 0 discussion the only option for a Liliana commander is the flip Walker from origins I believe it’s the heretical healer one.

Been playing this deck for a while but focusing more on making Vahl unlockable and killing through commander damage. It is ridiculously effective even against much more expensive and powerful decks. The infinite draw mechanic seems a bit too clunky
It can be but for the most part usually you’re tapping Vhal for so much mana that even paying 2 in to make it a color to draw a card is nothing. Plus its one of the best ways to dig through the deck with infinite mana, I also should have included a staff of domination in the upgrade section but hindsight is 20/20 😅 Thank you for commenting though and you Vhal deck sounds sweet as well
This is a weird question but I was watching another one of your videos “become the problem” with Zara’s thief of heart beets and I was going to build but I was wondering what the win con is because I love the strategy because I couldn’t find a way.❤❤❤
A great question! Because Zagras is a control deck with great ways of keeping the board clear to get in for combat damage. Unfortunately without a budget upgrade there’s no combos in the deck as of right now but if something comes along to change that I’ll update the list and do a video on it 😁 thank you for asking

Great video. I love the background commanders as there is so much ability to take them in different directions. For suggestions on the next one, how about Halsin, emerald archdruid or Livaan, cultist of Tiamat?
