I agree that the traffic noise really shatters the illusion that the music is being played in the peaceful countryside, where it so belongs. It takes me back many years, to when I first moved to rural west Wales, staring out of an old farmhouse bedroom window, watching the sheep grazing in the wild landscape. Moments of peace and healing. I'm not surprised by the earlier comment that it calms children. As has already been said, keep playing please!
our cells and our bodies completely different after 10 years but the patterns that make up our consciousness gives us a sense of continuity. kinda like the patterns that make up music can trigger specific memories of a time you heard those sounds and arrangements before.
+Mason Yu From the Old Testament - inspired word of God from the Book of Daniel Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Inspired by Sue Kirkpatrick, I bought a Hammered Dulcimer back in the 80s. Never ever managed to get anywhere with it but it makes you appreciate the artistry Dizzi and Emily are displaying. The kids bought me Dulci Duo and Dulci Duo for my birthday - both brilliant. I prefer your compositions.
Great composition!! I just got a dulcimer (a little 12/11) for my birthday and was looking for some inspiration fighting through the learning process. I am a drummer vocalist so I believe this fusion of rhythm and melody will be very liberating for me. Thank you, and what can I say... Keep It Up, Dizzi! ~
Your smile at the end is radiant... I simply have to comment on that. As well, your music has a great deal of emotion in it, and the natural setting of your videos really adds to the atmosphere your songs cultivate. A wonderful performance. And, one more thing... the dress itself is stunning, but more importantly, blue suits you very well. A wonderful choice.
I happen to love the outdoor recordings more then the studio ones. Only reason is the ambient sounds in the back add to the authenticity of the music provided. I hope to hear more of your works.
This is the video that got me to be a fan of dizzi. This is also the video that introduced me to her music. The hammered dulcimer is one of my most favorite instruments. I'm usually listening to heavy metal music... but I also listen to some guitar and other stringed instruments.... DADGAD tuning... celtic guitar you know. She should do a tour in the United States of America. She always seems to have ideas for lovely tunes to play on the hammered dulcimer. Well done... Great skill...lovely tune.
I just want to say that this piece of music is absolutely beautiful, it literally bought tears to my eyes and i felt connected to something that felt familiar thank you 🙏
i was searching for medieval sounding music and fell upon your videos. I've never seen anything this instrument before. It's completely awesome and you rock at it!
Hear them run Watch them dance Their all around They’re in the moon light Down the stream Then past the wood They’re in the grove They sing the song of life Pure white Black as night Shimmering gold Their power shows Unicorns, dance around, all around you, you can’t believe them all I thought these would be good word for the song if it had words. should i try and finish?
Your outfits are as nice as your music. But I wish you had a band! Imagine this with a bass or cello behind it, a good vocalist, and some hand drums! Wow!!
Oh Dizzy thank you for that piece, it is exactly the kind of music I love, old harmonies on a modern rythm, played on old fashioned instrument, with that bright and stained sound. Thank you so much one more time (since I heard that music, I have been looking for a hammered dulcimer to buy, and I think I found the perfect one for me, thank you too for allowing me to discover hammered dulcimer)
Like I've commented before...(It does bear repeating)...This is the first video I've seen of Dizzi and this is the video that got me into her music as well as the video that got me excited about the hammered dulcimer.
Yeah, thanks ... thought I was losing it, actually. It's a very creative piece. I hadn't noticed but you're right, it switches timesig about halfway through. Nice catch!
Hermosa música siempre me acompaña a cada país que voy cuanto quisiera tmb poder tocar ese instrumento. Que maestra y que bella mujer parece un ada del bosque encantado. Que dios te bendiga donde estés
I absolutely love your music so much. So much that that I have grown a huge interest in the dulcimer I bought one. it is pretty old though, needs repair. Then I'll try and play it. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
So BEAUTIFUL-the music, the ambient sounds, the setting, and your gown and headpiece-WELL DONE : ) I enjoy listening to your music as I make pottery-I do historical reproduction, and your music is perfect. Thank you for sharing!
@Singollo i dont know where dizzi got that dress from but shes a native of the Glastonbury area i think and the town has many shops selling all sorts, google "Lillith of Avalon"

11 years ago? How has the time gone.... Are we all the same or different?
We are all Different in that we are all the Same, We Have Changed.

13 years now...
Sounds like heaven; 2:22 into this, it is pure magic; the world needs more
of this..... May God shine brightly on her endeavors ....

and then again, maybe there IS one, and he will. he notices even minimal effort, like yours.
