@@youngw1zeI was born in ‘98 but I have parents that lived their 20s in the 90s. And I’ve been hella grateful. Watching all those black classics with my parents when I was a child and then more black classics when I was growing up in the early to mid 2000s. I’m truly blessed I got to see this and shows like these.
This show and South Central…slept on black sitcoms.

This show was a great example of how we should care for each other in our communities.
Heavy D playing the father of Alexis in this series, and the boyfriend of her sister Kim in another one is wild irony
So good to see Heavy D
No matter what show Jamie Foxx is in he always has the same style of humor. How he was being silly & sarcastic with the “I’ll go home with you Roc , man!” could easily be interchangeable with a scene of him being goofy in the Jamie Foxx show.
God blessed this show with really great actors and great messages as well. We need more shows like this on the air. R. I. P. Heavy D my brother.😊😊😊😊😊😊

This show was too ahead of its time
Heavy D was one of my first crushes. I loved these episodes as a kid.
Calvin did what he did to shoot the Drug Dealer. He trying to keep the kids off the drugs and street. He do care about his daughter. He tried so hard to his wife into the program. Rest In Peace Heavy D 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
I used to watch this with my parents when i was a kid. And it still hits hard now like it did then.

Thank you for your view and your comment. Being a fan of the Roc Show, I believe that it was 75% of his motivation to shoot Andre. I believe the other 25% of the motivation came from his desire to help ROC in his moment of need.

7:52 brought tears to my eyes because i have a 14 year old daughter and i wouldn't want to put her through that type of pain. Im glad I'm a think first type of guy been like that my whole life. Now that im 36 without a record or having to go to jail even though my friends growing up Making bad decisions but i had my own mind and never went with them doing crazy stuff.
💯. As Fathers, our jobs are to try our best to keep our boys out of prison and to make sure they graduate, and to keep our girls from getting pregnant and also making sure they graduate. Like you said, you were not a follower but a leader, we need more leaders. It’s super important💯💯👍🏾👍🏾
