Fixing a wiring problem that would turn both the headlight and the fuel pump off. Ask any questions down below and I'll try to help! I'll answer quicker on my IG @bikedood
Dude! I was struggling for a week and my next step was supposed to be giving cbr to the mechanic, but then I found your video! Had exactly the same problem with the green wire as it turns out! You saved me some bucks mate. All the best for you! ;)))
Thx this just helped with about 3 months off and on chasing my tail for a friend's f4i which is now mine thx to the ol barter and trade system lmao. He had no prime on the fuel pump, and signals were controlling high beam/ lo beam and if you hit cancel on the signal the fuse would pop. Drove me nuts, I just went to check the ground wire and noticed he had the gray harnesses mixed up, apparently they plug right up in lieu of not fitting letting you kno its wrong. Once I saw the green on one side and orange w/ white tracer on the other side I bust out laughing. Thx!
I’ve been rebuilding a wrecked bike and have this exact same issue. I’ll give it a shot later this week. Fingers crossed that this is the fix and it’ll fire right up afterwards.
No, but it did lead me to the real issue. I chased the green wire down the main wiring harness where multiple wires were spliced together, poorly. No heat wrap was used, so the connection corroded as well. Ultimately, the green wire was the culprit, but I had to untangle the mess and repair each wire.
@@bikelifebill this was exactly the problem, still had to wait 3 hours to towed but found it the next day, after checking a few things. Except my wire harness connector kinda melted at that part and was a pain to separate. Apparently these harnesses are discontinued so i gotta swap out that connector with another. Thanks so much for this video, i was mins away from getting it towed to a shop.
Pretty sure it would crank but no start because it’s not getting any fuel at all. This was years ago though so I don’t remember exact symptoms besides what I show in the video. Your FI light would be on just like I get it to do in the video

Did it end up working?

Why is the fule gauge not working?
This just happened to me earlier tonight, lights and no prime. I really hope this is the problem. Thanks
