Hi guys! I called quickbooks & inquired about its courses & they walked me through how to sign up for their free course! Its a 12 hour self paced course, then there is a review test after each module & they told me after im done with the entire course, that i will get mock clients to practice with before I actually start bookkeeping. Im excited to learn something new. Wish me luck

Although I have an old laptop, I will need to get a laptop that has the number keypad for bookkeeping. I use a laptop with the number keypad at my bookkeeping job and it makes a world of difference having the number keypad. I intend to purchase one before I take any clients of my own.

Thank you very much. To the point and very informative. I would like to start doing bookkeeping but the technical side of it scares me greatly. I had financial accounting in college and it was my weakest class mainly because of the vocabulary and all the categories where things go. It is very overwhelming to me. I love numbers though. Is there a cheat sheet available so I could study how to categorize things? I am definitely going to take a class.

This is so helpful and generous. I want to start a tax business, but I’m worried about forming an LLC - did you get an attorney for that? I understand the process and all the tax implications, but I’m convinced I need to hire an attorney before I can get started. (I would love to be talked out of that, lol.) Anyway, will you please explain how you got through the LLC process without spending another $500 - $1,500? (or provide a link, if I missed your video about this) Thanks so much!

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping

The training is free, and it's free to do your OWN business's books in QBO. Then you have to pay for each client you have (ProAdvisors get a 50% off wholesale price... different depending on the version of QB. From $7/month to over $100). So over time QBO is typically more expensive.
