Went to Sturgis S.D. for the bike rally in 07' we had a great time, everywhere we went, everything we did was just an all out good time. Cops were cool, and everyone respected each other. If you ride, I highly recommend it.
I left the Lamphere Ranch on Tuesday the 6th at 3:15am stone cold sober. I was on my road glide towing my little camp trailer. As we rolled toward town on our way to the freeway I noticed a cop car near the hospital on my left sitting there with no lights on. There was a temporary traffic light at the intersection coming up and the light was green. I was doing the speed limit. I was at danger distance from the light and it changed with no cross traffic and i barely stoped before it turned red. I almost dumped the bike with the extra weight behind me and my fioncee on the back. I immediately understood what happened. That cop had control of that traffic light. If I ran it I get a ticket…. If drunk or no license….. fine, we all know cops do dirty to escalate bigger tickets but he dammed near caused me to go down. #lawtigers #suebadcops

I talked with several of the cops at Sturgis a couple years ago. All very friendly and professional. Overall, Sturgis is the most welcoming biker community.
He’s probably a very experienced cop who has the ability to handle/deal with drunks well. Seems to have a very good disposition.
