You can hardly be a next Keiser or Samuel or whatever if everytime you invade the safe area of a stricker you might cause a penalty.
That was not fair towards the rest of the teams. I think that if you have Baresi and Maldini in the same team, at least you should not be allowed having a goalkeeper. Too easy

Baresi's play at 5:02 makes me cry. No central defender at the top level of this sport ever made these runs, finished by such a great touch that Weah just had to put his head there. Whenever Baresi started one of these counterattacks it was absolute panic for the opponents.

? are you asking if i know strikers in the 90s or are you trying to say they scored less goals than strikers now. there are about 10 players today that play what was considered football in the 90, everybody else is a practice dummy.
i guess van Basten was the best striker but there were a ton of other good strikers... in the 90s, when a striker was alone with the gk, comentators would call that a 100% chance because the attacker would almost score 100% of the times. often the attacker would dribble past the gk and score.
now comentators never use that frase because attacker only score about 30% of the time in the same situation
Level of football has actually gone down a lot. These players used to be beast on the ground. Damn ❤
