Depends how you play the game and why u play it man. I'm sure you heard that 100 of times but you know.. Just having fun mass killing monsters, eventually buying out items. The hundred of hours of fun I had is absoulutely worth the 60€ I put in the game. If someone gave me a solo game with that archer gameplay for 10€, i would have called it a hidden gem. For me the 0.2% of up chance are for betting maniacs who are here for the adrenaline rush. And for pvp, I accepted i'm not the main character in bdo world lmao and well caped pvp do exist now so..
If you're the kinda player that wants to be the top of the top in gear at all times, then yeah. Personally, I get myself to a pvp ready state, since that's all I care about. I got bored and quit multiple times, and each time I come back and do the same thing. Top gear is unnecessary for most people, especially with capped pvp in the game. As for pve, there's no competition except the expectations you put on yourself.
i have full pen everything. I mortgaged my House and have played every second of the last 8 years I haven't been to sleep or taken a shit since The 3rd of March 2016
I have no issue with who p2w, the bad part is that is the same player with all that gear, that tries to kill you while grinding and you blow his ass up cuz he thought having all that gear would make him good at the game... Always love those ppl that show there gear and are around like a 720 GS asking where they can grind with that gear, and thats when i know most likely p2w most of your stuff. 700+ GS and dont know where to grind is a dead give away, but hey if someone wants to spend like 100k on the game, not sure how that effects anyone else, if anything alot of ppl gunna be getting those outfit preorders on the MP.
There are also pearl sales, when you get 2x more pearls for the same amount of money, and then wait for Costumes to be on sale for 50%. But I guess you didn't mention this since those pearl sales are only available few times a year, and you can only buy one deal of pearls.
Yeah exactly, the frequency of the pearl sales were so few compared to the costume sales so it would be difficult to factor in. Usually even when buying all the BOGO bundles it wouldn’t be enough to fund much of an average run of enhancing a big item..

True p2w players know that buying a fully loaded account is the way to go. Can get quad debos quad wailing armors with complete accessories for around 4kusd or less. Some of those account has trillions of silvers in them too. With the recent precision hammers, those accounts are even cheaper. Alternatively, you can hire a pilot for $2 an hour. Some are cheaper depending on your package. So if you live outside of those 3rd world countries and earns around $35+ an hour. You can technically hire pilots for 24/7. PA won't do anything about this as this is their top 5% of their player base. We're talking about alliance leaders and influential people in those servers. Arterris for example has hinted multiple times in his streams that PA doesn't really do anything about it and less likely will ever do.
I've got no problem in splashing into cosmetics and weight etc. But the P2W route in Black Desert is such an idiotic thing to do. Once in a while i become really tempted on splashing a couple hundred euros on costumes when i'm missing some billions towards a new upgrade, but always come to sense after reflecting a bit, and remembering how idiotic and meaningless it would be on the large picture. Gotta get your priorities right lmao, there's better uses for your money.

Some people with too much money want to have a certain type of fun without having to grind many 100s of hours. At the end of the day does it matter? Not really, just a video game right? I’m not here to judge anyone, being asked to grind 1,000 hrs for the gear is not an appealing prospect. I just want to lay out the numbers so people don’t get bamboozled into spending $500 for some power up thinking they can finally enjoy the game after.
It just feels like a waste to splash 150 euros for 8 costumes on sale, which ends up in only two PEN Blackstar attempts which most likely wont succeed. Better to just grind it out and enjoy the loop. @@imPansy
Fact is most make around 300-400m per hour that i talk to. Also grind is boring as hell- thus so low,say 2 or 3 hours and can't do more at a time. Play from launch on and off and yea- it is not much fun- grind- try fail- grind try fail- (6% chance) 27 fails on my TET Bheg's to pen to then c10. Then my T9 courser mounts last two were 42 & 47 tries to get dream. Starts to feel like a total chore and not a game rewarding some fun. I have FG chest duo and rest BS TET armor-weapons. I now feel i won't advance further- just bored and fed up with it- also maybe €5k+ spent in game over the years, on costumes weight slots maids etc etc and question honestly why i ever started this shit. I sound a bit sour? yea well maybe :(
I don’t blame you for feeling that way man. Sorry to hear about your experience. It be rough. Especially considering the 100s of hours we grind is all the same exact gameplay loop. For majority of the spots we don’t even treat the mobs with any respect till the very late game spots
I finally walked away from this game and started playing something else. I’m just sick of the grind and the worst upgrade system in gaming. I knew it was time to move on when I actually dozed off during one of the numerous mindless grind session.
Hmm. Try 2-4 pieces of bis gear. Talking about osrs, unless you get goated drops, youre not getting Tbow, shadow, scythe, inferno, quiver, ancestral and torva in 400hrs

I understand the motivation. The consequences is what worries me. We have problems retaining new players as it is, with so many catch up mechanics. New players should know that this gear with the pen weapons are equipment that the top 1% on each region have. They need to know that the vaaaaste majority of players are between 650-700, a score achievable in 3-6 months with a bit of luck. Offer context to your videos, @@imPansy
i'm still at boss gear, i'm even missing a PEN Boss so will take some time. I won't invest for now, i guess the caphras prices will drop further anyway
True. If we were to report the top guilds members for piloting, easily 10-25% of them would get deleted. PA doesn’t actively search for piloters though, only if they’re reported
At this point, I just use mediocre gear to have some combat for fun, do life skill with some gear, and just enjoy the game. I'm just aiming for horses, life skill gear. Less stressful. I didn't even want to do PvP. I really liked the game combat but at this point, tapping for acc is not an option.
You can pvp if you wanted to even with low gear. Low tier node wars, seasonal Arsha and AoS are always an option. You got the right idea for sure. As long as you have a good time does anything else really matter in a video game?

lol if i had to spend the silver/hour i get from grinding in spending euros id have to spend 300+ euros a day xD also those armors u dont even need full tri to hit 401dp which is the current cap
Earning gear in BDO is the biggest waste of any game i have ever seen. You earn gear to earn better gear to earn better gear...and what do you do with it? You attack other players and respawn over and over until one of you literally gets board and calls it a day...that is BDO for you...oh and you can go earn better gear to get better gear....riveting.
The scale is the difference here. Most other MMORPG’s you earn your way to the best gear in 3-4 months, maybe a few 100 hrs. Also the manner in which gear is earned is different usually like doing dungeons, raids, world bosses, PvP etc. in bdo it’s a grueling number of hours and time plus just the same old grind circles for silver 😣
Sadly, it's people who aren't millionaire's who end up spending a ton of money. It starts off small but there're dark patterns at play to entice the average person into spending money. They start making excuses for it like "oh it's for my entertainment" etc.

What server you on? On EU, caphras been at 1,84m each for 4 months now. No sign on dropping
