Man, awesome video. This is spot on! When Im stuck on a lyric I “should” hate, but love for some reason, I always think about Bob Dipiero talking about “Blue Clear Sky”. He said at first listen, Straight hated it not saying clear blue sky. He believed in that lyric and listened to his gut, even when King George himself said he didnt like it. That decision speaks for itself. Thats what makes songwriting magic.

Great video Chris! Getting a song critiqued is good when you are a beginner and need that help to put it all together, but once you know how to write you really don’t need it much. It’s an art form, when is a painting finished? When the artist put down his brush. My songs are a part of my life in time and how I felt then. Good or bad they are what they are. I have never had a hit song although I have had 23 songs recorded. I think depending on who records the song makes a difference too, and unknown who records your song may not get a hit from it but if a star records that song it could be a hit. Your chances are better with great artists doing your songs. That’s all for now!

Chris... this is exactly why I don't care about anybody else's critique but my own or my co-writer. The Nashville critique industry quite frankly makes me ill. Your experience (as is others) reminds me of "Peggy Sue Got Married" with Nick Cage telling Peggy Sue "No, Peggy Sue, it's not "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah"... it should be "She loves you, Oooo, Oooo, Oooo..."

I had joined Taxi a short time after the "Don't Blink Debacle". Thought it was amusing that they closed the forum thread seemingly with their tail between their legs! One of the "rules" you surely had to follow to be succesful was never start the song on the chorus! I'm like "Damn, l can think of 20 hit songs like that right off the top of my head"
I quickly came to realize the only rule is there are no rules and by the way Don't Blink is a pretty cool song bro!

Am so hoping none of those critiques were mine LOL don’t this so. I remember Lester’s TS appearance…oh boy…the reviewer was even worse…
