The term 1932 Ford may refer to three models of automobile produced by Ford Motors between 1932 and 1934: the Model B, the Model 18, and the Model 40. These succeeded the Model A. The Model B had an updated four-cylinder engine and was available from 1932 to 1934. The V8 was available in the Model 18 in 1932, and in the Model 40 in 1933 & 1934. The 18 was the first Ford fitted with the flathead V-8. The company also replaced the Model AA truck with the Model BB, available with either the four- or eight-cylinder engine.
The three car models were replaced by the streamlined Model 48 in 1935 which used the same chassis as its predecessor. The 1937 Ford would be the last to use the old 1932 chassis until 1940 when the car line of Ford was completely redesigned.
The 1934 Ford (the Model 40B) was not as substantial a model year change as the previous two years had been. Noticeable changes included a flatter grille with a wider surround and fewer bars, straight hood louvers, two handles on each side of the hood, smaller head lights and cowl lamps, and a reworked logo. The bare metal dash insert was replaced by painted steel.[9]
V‑8 output was again increased, this time to 85 hp (63 kW), and the four-cylinder Model B engine was in its last year, as was the Victoria body style; nevertheless, there were fourteen body options, the Tudor being top-seller.[4] The standard three-window coupe was deleted.[9]
Deluxes had pinstriping, again twin (chromed) horns, and twin back lights.[9] Inside, they got more elaborate wood graining.
The 1934 Ford V-8 is infamous for being the vehicle in which the notorious Depression-era bandits Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were ambushed and killed.[12] Barrow preferred to steal the powerful Ford V-8, and was driving a 1934 sedan on May 23, 1934, when a heavily armed law enforcement posse opened fire and riddled the pair with bullets and buckshot in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This kit predates the 700R4 trans by a bunch. That trans is a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" 4 speed manual.
The manual in this edition says it's a 700R4 so that's what I read. Thanks for watching.
I agree, just a quick look and that's no auto.
Carry over engine block from the amt 66 nova
I don’t know why it matters what transmission they say is in it, it’s plastic lol
I agree. M22. Just like in my brother's 55 Chevy post that came out of a 65 Vette with the 327.
This video came just in time, I just received this kit from Amazon!
Aaah, can't help myself, only as you mentioned several times..
700R4, is an auto box.
Casting is clearly, a well represented manual.
I'm reading it right off the instruction manual, so you are welcome to argue with them. Thanks.
Beautiful job, as always, Chris!!👏
Painted FLAMES !!!
Bring back painted flames on cars. Nice color choices over a well built car.
Thanks, Chris...
this is a very fine kit indeed! I have built many and have several more in My stash. It does lend itself to various build selections too. Always nice to see Your videos, Thank You for sharing with Us here on the tube. Later
Wow very nice build Chris, Just think with a chopped top and flames, it's a California Kid Ford coupe. ALSO the Desoto Hemi in the 53 Ford pickup, drops right in the car..😊😊😊
NNIIIICCE 🏆🏆
This sure brings back memories of the hot rods the guys were driving around when I was young kid. Great job.
I remember retouching, and restoring the 34 Ford Hot/Rod ZZZ/Top,car,l custom designed, and built a 87 Firebird interior, and or Frame as,well l had to cut Frame to work, the blown small block chevy, with matching blower, and or supercharger, fit very well ,with no clearance issues 🤔, although a l had to reuse the ZZZ/Top centerline wheels, l had to remake a trunk panel it worked, but this was pre/TH-cam.
Turned out great
Nice looking build sir!
Can't go wrong with a '34 always a cool Hot Rod to build!!! 👍👍
Another great build Cris great color combo an the 🔥🔥 flames set it off just right thanks for the video an the time you put in for us 👍🏻👍🏻
That is one sweet ride. If only I'd win one big lotto, I'd definitely have one car like that. And yes ,I would be driving it ...not just storing it like many rich people do.
Such a cool build! I really like the end result.
Great color comb ! Looks great keep up the good work !
This kit is a good one, comes together easy. This reissue has different tires. The older reissue of this kit has the Good Year "gatorbacks" the other difference is the decal sheet. Great build.
Nice build Chris, like the mild hot rod look and flame decals.👍
Cool rod
Excellence Street Rod build Chris, spot on colors and decal choices!
Love the color combo. Always liked the ‘34! Thanks Chris!
Great video Chris keep em coming and I'll keep watching
Great design on this one. It really pops
Nice kit and great work
That is beautiful! Thank you for sharing.👍♥️
It would be nice to see more Chevs and even Dodges from the early to mid 30s. Great build looks cool 😎
That would be interesting, especially the Dodges because I don't recall ever having seen those.
Awesome build Chris. Love your choice of colors. 😮.
I really have to try one of these hot rod kits some time - I like the way this one builds up and the colors here make it stand out.
good to see this un back---have two or three of the original issue that for some reason I never finished---there was a stock version issued at one time also a fairly neat 2-door sedan version in in stock and another street rod version----
Very nice build.👍
that frame etc before the body went on looks really tough! Nice build all around Chris!
I like it
Great job, Chris. I like the way you two toned the interior. And I do like that red.
Nice lookin build Chris! The Mica Red looks fantastic with the black fenders. I bet it's a quick little hotrod in Model Car World with that 383 engine and 700R4 trans.
Very cool model! My ideas started rolling again😂😂
Definitely one of my favorite builds you have done!!! That looks amazing!
Wow. Nice build. Love the colors. Looks like a car from American graffiti. Love the. Flames. They look awesome have a great weekend Chris. .
She's 1 " WICKED " C😎😎😎 LLL 34 Chris 🏆🏆🏆🏆 Thanks For Sharing n GBA 🤗 Gary.
One of my new favorites. Color combo is awesome.
THAT color combo looks amazing!! with the flames? even better!!
One more great build congrats Chris
And another Great masterpiece Chris 👍👍
Great build Chris! Turned out real nice. I picked this kit up last week.
I was hoping that you would put on those flame decals!
I like those L&R Moon Eyes
That's a really nice kit. Nice job making it too and good choices when picking out the colors! Very inspiring
You did a damn good job on that build sir
That's a Chevy 383 Stroker, or supposed to be looks like. Anywho, cool beans bud, as always! ⚾👍🤙✌️
Boss sled Daddy O .
Brilliantly done mate👍
Nice 😅
Nice as always
Chris, I would like to see the model number of the Molotow pens you use for detail work. You're the inspiration for me obtaining a set for myself and I love them!
Looks amazing, how long do you wait after painting to apply the floor finish?
Great build, as always, Chris! Would like to see you try the Testors acrylic silver marker one time, and compare to your extensive experience with the Sharpie. Just a thought.
Great suggestion!
The guage decals are for a stock 34
Very nice build. Are you going to be at Best of the West next weekend?
FYI: AMT did a stock 34 coupe kit back in the 90s. That one IIRC had no hotrod parts in the kit just as this hotrod kit doesn't have the parts to build stock.
Came out looking good, I was wondering how this kit would go together 🤙🏼
You and me both!
I need that kit
The stock version is kit 8214 last issued in the mid 00s. And the hot rod tires are better in the 90s releases IMO.
But this decal sheet is pretty good in this release.
@chrislongbeard I kind of like these tires better than the Gatorbacks. I guess because a lot of kits from the late 80's to mid 90's had them even if it wasn't a new vehicle at the time
Thanks for the heads-up on the stock version. Of course, any one that is half way competent at kit bashing - and has a sufficient stash of
extra parts - could easily convert this street rod kit into a stock version. Modeling is about expressing your creativity....don't get wrapped up in box stock only !
Chris its a gearhead thing nothing personal the trans is a stick shift not an auto. i get that is what the manual says but they are wrong auto trans has a pan on the bottom stick doesn't lol have a great day. p.s. i saw one of your build videos on amazon the other day
Need to tighten up the lug nuts 😅
Back in the 80s AMT made a box set of 3 kits. A 40 ford panel truck, a 37 chevy you could build as a convertible or hardtop and this kit. But I think you could build all three stock or custom.
I was just looking 0:47 at that triple kit in my inventory 3 days ago. The 34 coupe can ONLY be built with the a-arm front. Same identical kit to here except for Goodyear Gatorade tires and different decal sheet. Stock 34 coupe kit I haven't pulled out for a while IIRC only builds stock. Doesn't mean you can't mix in parts from other sources to build however you want. BTW, in my box with the triple hotrod kit there are 3 more 34 coupe hotrod kits. I'm thinking of using the front of the cab and the whole front clip with the back of the cab from an AMT/Lindberg 34 pickup to build a 34 pickup with passenger car front. The 37 Chevy in that triple hotrod kit is a convertible only. It comes with a top that's 'up. It doesn't come with a coupe roof like both AMT and Monogram 36 Fords.
that is not a 700r4 transmission it look like a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission. The build is great I really liked it, I build real cars and trucks.
Really cool build, Chris! Just curious if you got any late 80's/early 90's NASCAR builds on the horizon..?
Can you build the car without the running boards and fenders?
Why do you use floor polish as a gloss coat rather than any Tamiya or such product?
Nice kit to bad it can't be built stock
believe the motor is actually a small block Chevy with a 4 speed trans just saying not complaining
Like I said, it's a 383.
The trans and engine are listed as a 383 stroker and a 700-R4 in the manual, so that's what I read on the video. Thanks for watching. :)
guess it could be a 383 stroker motor, didnt mean to sound harsh, just remember thats what the original said, enjoy your builds, even an old guy like me learns something from your videos, keep up the good work@@hpiguy
Also, I have one of these and thought about just sitting the hood side panels in place, so I could get both looks, seeing the engine vs not. Did you happen to try sitting them in there loose, and do they sort of stay put?
Some hobby suppliers sell tiny magnets that could be used to secure the hood pieces. Creativity is only limited by your imagination.
Well Son Of A Gun! I didn't know that. I'll have to ask my hobby dealer about that. Do you know if Model Round Up carry those?
The edges of the side panels on the body area are so large, they just may sit on their own. If not, a teeny dab of 'blue tack' or poster putty, like a pinhead would hold them there.
What kind masking type use bro?????
I asked him that once myself and his response was Washy Tape. I don't remember how it was spelled tho, wether it's with a y or ie.
Am fairly new to model car building but I see you are using Rust Oleum paint. I recently heard that paint is not the best for plastic models. I'd like options because Tamiya and Testors paints are about $14 a can where I live.
He has done tutorials about using different paints, in the past. You can use the Rust Oleum paints by using carefully.
There are many other channels that demonstrate how to use different paints, finger nail polish, etc.
