Movieworld... I think I went there back in 2000. Time flies.
Another thought Grant: For event coverage I always seem to end up with the Lumix 14-140mm kit zoom and using 14, 20, and 100 to 140mm. I really wish there were clickable stops for different zoom focal lengths, and another feature I appreciate about the LX100 being able to set the focus ring to step and see it in the EVF, that's why on my GX10/ LX1000 wish list would be a built-in fast Leica zoom-by-wire lens with programmable stops, a leaf shutter for high shutter speed fill-flash.
I'm thinking from time to time about switching the 12-60 and some of the primes out and use the 10-25/1.7 together with the 35-100/2.8 for more or less everything. From an optical point of view, it would be better but I like the smaller sizes of the lenses I have. 25-50 is a range that I use very seldom, so this lens isn't a thing for me.
The GH6 is great for this kind of mixed shootings and if you know the setups for the different kinds of stills and video-clips you can prepare the custom settings and switch within one or two seconds.
I do love the colour science out of your image selection but from the video it does look a little dull... especially Bizarro (Purple Superman) he's a touch flat maybe but still I wouldn't complain with that output either. Love to see the 42.5mm on that rig though.
I almost always struggle with zoom lenses when it comes to composition. Nothing to do with the lenses themselves. When I go out for photowalks, I simply enjoy the experience more and get better results, when I stick with one prime lens. I guess my brain wasn't made to zoom.
I find them like a graphic equaliser on stereo kit - so many choices that I can’t make one 😂. I have zooms, but am a better photographer with primes. Well I think so anyway!
Had the same struggles in composition with my Lumix G7. But I learned to observe my surroundings more, figure out where the light comes from and then try to compose. Anyway, cheers to you fellow M43 shooters!
Congrats on getting yourself a GH6. It's a great camera and the CFXpress is incredible for long formay stuff and fast. I have one too and I find I get better photos with primes as well. I have the Sigma trio{16,30, and 56mm} and they are a great set for both photo and video on MFT cameras! I still love shooting on my G9. It feels better to me but the GH6 is great as well but not as comfortable.I have it in a cage. I have to get used to it.
Great video and thanks for sharing.
Thanks man :) Yeah, I think primes are the way to go :)
Cool... Does the GH6 do external USB drive recording and do you have any thoughts on the higher MP sensor?
@@jackoneil3933 Yes, the GH6 does support SSD drive connection and the 25 Megapixel is much better than the 20. I get great quality out of both for video even using VLog but for photography, the GH6 does much better imo especially using hiresolution mode!
@@ChuckSeayIIThanks! External recording to an SSD and ProRes would be a big plus for me. I've been considering an S5 or Sf5II as20MP while reasonable with a good lens does not leave much room to crop so the GH6s few extra MP and a good High-Res mode might make sense as I don't have to re-buy lenses.
Some of the talk about low-light streaking and noise due to the Phased-array AF pixels in the Sensor and some saying the G9 was a better stills camera has me in a holding pattern on the GH6. If you have any thoughts on it I'd appreciate your take?

Look man, don't waste your time... The only two ZOOMS you need are the Panasonic 10-25mm Leica Summilux 1.7 (constant), and the Panasonic 25-50mm Leica Summilux 1.7 (constant). All those other kit styly lenses with the variable aperture and all that plastic stuff.. NO ! Just don't, don't waste your time.
Yep I agree but they are bigger and heavier - so it’s a trade off - brilliant for video though
Yeah… that’s the vibe I got - Almost Kit like vibes…
Nah. Get the Olympus 12-40 and 40-150 f2.8 - excellent combo
@@DJFAmenHeavy Nice suggestions. Personally, I rather go with the Panasonic / Leica glass...and I want that 1.7 at all times.
Especially w/ the way cameras are getting updates these days, to auto-focus especially, I want the camera brand / body to be talking to the same brand / lens.
