  • Chantilly Bars | Revel Bars
    Oats mixture ingredients:
    2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
    3 cups quick cooking oats
    1 bar butter or margarine(225g)
    1 tbsp baking soda
    2 tbsp baking powder
    2 cups brown sugar
    3 eggs(small) or 2 large eggs
    pinch of salt
    1 tbsp vanilla extract
    Chocolate Filling ingredients:
    1 cup cocoa powder
    1 big can condensed milk
    2 tbsp butter or margarine
    pinch of salt
    1/2 cup hot water
    1-2 tbsp vanilla extract
    chocolate bars(optional)
    How to make the oats mixture:
    1) Preheat Oven or Stove top oven for 10-15 minutes
    2) Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
    3) Cream butter and brown sugar. beat for 3-4 min.
    4) Add eggs- 1 at a time
    5) Add flour mixture- a cup at a time
    6) Add the vanilla and Gradually add the oats
    7) Mix using the spatula
    8) Mix until well combined
    9) lightly grease and flour the pan or you can use parchment paper
    10)To assemble: pat 2/3 of the oat mixture and spread evenly
    11)Slowly pour the chocolate filling over the oats mixture
    12)Spread the chocolate filling evenly
    13)Dot with the remaining oats mixture
    14)Bake for 30-35 min. over low heat
    15)Cool Completely
    16)Slice into bars
    How to make Chocolate Filling:
    1) Combine cocoa powder and hot water. Mix until well blended. Set aside
    2) Melt butter and chocolate bars over low fire
    Note: Extra chocolate bars are optional. You can directly cook together the butter, cocoa mixture and condensed milk over low heat
    3) Stir constantly until the chocolate has fully melted
    4) Add condensed milk, cocoa mixture and salt.
    5) Continue stirring until the mixture is smooth
    6) Turn off the gas stove and add the vanilla extract
    Optional: add peanuts
    7) Let it cool and set aside
