I was anxious to post about it when I first got books sent to me, but I am so glad I did! I have found new favourite books I might not have read it otherwise and was able to recommend them to other who loved them too :)

Thank you so much for this video! It is super helpful! I recently restarted a bookstagram and this video definitely made me more motivated to keep going. I think the hardest part for me is going to be sticking with one theme since I always like trying new things and styles.
Oh I'm so glad you found it useful!!! You can always change your theme with the seasons for example! As long as your aesthetic is consistent throughout if that makes sense! Make your pics immediately identifiable as 'you'

I’ve been a bookstgramer since 2018 but about Arabic books . The thing that is bothering me is that I have only 1000 followers. My content is good I think cuz I really take time to take pictures and edit them and stuff . I really love reading and making bookmarks and I know that the number of followers is not the most important thing but it encourages me to continue. People go to my account and like my posts but never follow . I tag other accounts who share bookstgram posts but they do not repost my posts . But the number of saves on my posts are good. I even tag bookstores that I bought from but they don’t share my post . I know you think I post some offensive stuff or somethings that people find uncomfortable but no it’s just all about books and bookmarks . I really started thinking about closing my account cuz I’m doing what I do with passion but no one seems to care to follow
Oh dont be discouraged! Is there a big arabic book community? I know I've spoken to people who struggled to gain because their language/country didn't have the biggest book community and by posting in english too and with english books sometimes, they gained followers although I completely understand if that's something you wouldn't want to do.

I love your videos and the pictures you post on Instagram, can you please tell us if there’s any potential for making money out of your bookstagram!? I love books and started a bookstagram that I’m planning to turn it to a side hustle while enjoying my passion for books.
Ok so I'm a writer but I also want to have reader type followers (obviously right?). My gripe is just about EVERY bookstagram page has a bunch of book stacks. Like first off, I don't have physical books anymore. Second, I find those pics wild boring and I don't even like them, let alone want to post them. So I'm struggling with what to post.
That's fair!!! They aren't for every one. In terms of physical books, there are ways around it, like posting a pic of your kindle, phone or tablet or even photo shopping a book into a scene you set up (I do the latter). If you look at my page, I rarely do stacks, I mostly show ONE book off with a kind of scene around it but I also do lots of non book pics of me, my house etc so definitely doesn't have to be stacks only. Also as a writer you could post your writing tools, notebooks, coffee, keyboard etc as well as things that inspire you like a beautiful old grave stone, a rose etc. Finally you could try to inspire others by creating a photo challenge, creating images that are not book related at all and ask people to write something based on that image. That's just a few examples, there's lots you can do

I need to film a video about this because there's a bunch of ways!! Basically you can approach them, they can approach you or there are sites to sign up to to send out review copies
I tend to just type in book or reader and check all the tags with that in it & how many there are with that tag. I also just flat out make up something that sounds like it could be a tag and it usually is lol. I also check other people's hashtags...if you click on them you can see how many posts use it. That's a great way to find new ones!!
Decide on your style/aesthetic and start looking for bits and pieces to fit that eg fake flowers. You can get things in charity shops or pound shops so no need to spend much. Look about at what you already have in house - blankets, plants, teacups etc. Also free stuff like acorns, dry leaves/plants, stones, sea glass, branches etc. Re books again just photo graph what you have and any new ones you get, whether you buy a physical copy, ebook or borrow from friends or library. You can borrow props too...my mum has lots of antiques so I frequently borrow her stuff. It all depends what style you are going for...what are you thinking?
Instagram don't pay content creators, the creators are paid through individual partnerships, collaborations and sponsored posts. The business account gives you access to stats which help with planning your posts and building a following
Hey mam😇 i have made an ac for my ❤️ for books so i want to ask that should i go for different mail & password for this book ac or merge this in an already existing instagram a/c? will i face any problem in future or this book ac, merged with already existing insta ac is good to go?
Maybe it's because I'm an old fogey but I don't like the social media side of things. I know it's a necessary evil but to me it takes away valuable time where I could be spending it on producing better content. On the Instagram thingy do you have to physically type the hashtags for each post? (sounds exhausting!) I tried looking at the Hootsuite page but it wants you sign up immediately without actually demonstrating anything Grrrrr! s it worth it? As much as we want our channel to be a success, personally I'd rather spend some time in the real world instead of tied to a screen all day. I do enough of that in my day job. lol
It can be a lot of work, especially if you want to make quick gains. You do have to type the hashtags but you can cut that down by having several batches saved and switching between them. I think Hootsuite is good if you're like me and can't make and type the posts at the best times to post them. Instagram really can translate over to views though
@@MarieMcWilliams I've actually developed three distinctive groups of hashtags since making this post and they seem to have helped out a lot. Instagram does seem to generate some interaction (much more than Facebook and Twitter) which is a positive. It also seems to be a lot less combative than the other platforms which encourages me to post more. I've actually been toying with the idea of just uploading videos directly to each platform rather than trying to point back to this one. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
My favourite places are charity shops/thrift stores and second hand shops or websites like eBay. There are also sites you can sign up to to become a reviewer of books like netgalley for example and the books are free
Yes of course!! You don't have to post images of books exclusively, and if you want to post more book pics but don't have physical books there are ways around that, like posting images of the cover from online or phptoshopping that cover onto a scene you photograph to make it appear as though the book is there, or pics of your kindle etc.
I often get sent eread copies of books. I either photograph the tablet/kindle as I would the book or I photo shop in the cover of the book into my layout

Ok so I'm a writer but I also want to have reader type followers (obviously right?). My gripe is just about EVERY bookstagram page has a bunch of book stacks. Like first off, I don't have physical books anymore. Second, I find those pics wild boring and I don't even like them, let alone want to post them. So I'm struggling with what to post.
That's fair!!! They aren't for every one. In terms of physical books, there are ways around it, like posting a pic of your kindle, phone or tablet or even photo shopping a book into a scene you set up (I do the latter). If you look at my page, I rarely do stacks, I mostly show ONE book off with a kind of scene around it but I also do lots of non book pics of me, my house etc so definitely doesn't have to be stacks only. Also as a writer you could post your writing tools, notebooks, coffee, keyboard etc as well as things that inspire you like a beautiful old grave stone, a rose etc. Finally you could try to inspire others by creating a photo challenge, creating images that are not book related at all and ask people to write something based on that image. That's just a few examples, there's lots you can do
I’ve always wondered how people get sent book by publishers I know you have to gain their attention but I’ve also seen very small accounts get sent books. How does that happen?
I need to film a video about this because there's a bunch of ways!! Basically you can approach them, they can approach you or there are sites to sign up to to send out review copies
Can you give any tips for how to find new hashtags?
I tend to just type in book or reader and check all the tags with that in it & how many there are with that tag. I also just flat out make up something that sounds like it could be a tag and it usually is lol. I also check other people's hashtags...if you click on them you can see how many posts use it. That's a great way to find new ones!!

I don't have too many books or props so how do I start my bookstagram account???
Decide on your style/aesthetic and start looking for bits and pieces to fit that eg fake flowers. You can get things in charity shops or pound shops so no need to spend much. Look about at what you already have in house - blankets, plants, teacups etc. Also free stuff like acorns, dry leaves/plants, stones, sea glass, branches etc. Re books again just photo graph what you have and any new ones you get, whether you buy a physical copy, ebook or borrow from friends or library. You can borrow props too...my mum has lots of antiques so I frequently borrow her stuff. It all depends what style you are going for...what are you thinking?

what do u consider consistent ? could 2x a week be a enough ?
Honestly I think daily is the best way to go. It's ok to miss sometimes, things happen, but you need to be on every day to see consistent growth

Hello! Do I have to have a business account in order for Instagram to start paying for me when I get enough followers?
Instagram don't pay content creators, the creators are paid through individual partnerships, collaborations and sponsored posts. The business account gives you access to stats which help with planning your posts and building a following
What time do you post? I want to post at a time most ppl are active in Europe and the US too :)
I find around 8pm UK time good. That's early for USA and evening for UK and Europe

Hey mam😇 i have made an ac for my ❤️ for books so i want to ask that should i go for different mail & password for this book ac or merge this in an already existing instagram a/c?
will i face any problem in future or this book ac, merged with already existing insta ac is good to go?
Maybe it's because I'm an old fogey but I don't like the social media side of things. I know it's a necessary evil but to me it takes away valuable time where I could be spending it on producing better content. On the Instagram thingy do you have to physically type the hashtags for each post? (sounds exhausting!) I tried looking at the Hootsuite page but it wants you sign up immediately without actually demonstrating anything Grrrrr! s it worth it? As much as we want our channel to be a success, personally I'd rather spend some time in the real world instead of tied to a screen all day. I do enough of that in my day job. lol
It can be a lot of work, especially if you want to make quick gains. You do have to type the hashtags but you can cut that down by having several batches saved and switching between them. I think Hootsuite is good if you're like me and can't make and type the posts at the best times to post them. Instagram really can translate over to views though
@@MarieMcWilliams I've actually developed three distinctive groups of hashtags since making this post and they seem to have helped out a lot.
Instagram does seem to generate some interaction (much more than Facebook and Twitter) which is a positive. It also seems to be a lot less combative than the other platforms which encourages me to post more. I've actually been toying with the idea of just uploading videos directly to each platform rather than trying to point back to this one.

My favourite places are charity shops/thrift stores and second hand shops or websites like eBay. There are also sites you can sign up to to become a reviewer of books like netgalley for example and the books are free

Yes of course!! You don't have to post images of books exclusively, and if you want to post more book pics but don't have physical books there are ways around that, like posting images of the cover from online or phptoshopping that cover onto a scene you photograph to make it appear as though the book is there, or pics of your kindle etc.
I don't have a lot of books only 8 books... But I love books and read online... Please help me about this...
I often get sent eread copies of books. I either photograph the tablet/kindle as I would the book or I photo shop in the cover of the book into my layout
