  • Hey everyone,
    Today I'm just answering my most commonly asked question, which is what suspension do I have ad how do I rate it.
    I've spent nearly 3 years with this kit, and have loved it. It's seen corrugations to heavy loads and has taken it all in its stride.
    The kit I have can be found at Fulcrums website:

    fit the 2inch formula kit with a mate. bit of a dog regarding the torsion bars and the bolt and bushes for the leaf springs were siezed to eachother and the leaf (stock suspension on a 2008 with 240xxxkms). it was 1150 all up and a 10 hour job. good for price but if id do it again id choose the raw shocks. if you have basic knowledge you can fit the suspension yourself relatively easy but make sure you get it checked and alligned otherwise you put everyone in danger.

    hi there i have a question about the 4x4 system in the d22 navara/NP300(in south africa) i am purchasing a single cab for a long trip up into central africa and i wanted to know if the 4x4 system is connected to the front wheel via automatic front lockers or if the whole front drive shaft gets disconnected at the transfer case. I have been spending weeks trying to find information about the transfer cases and hubs but unfortunatly there is little information about this.

    hey bud i just had the Fulcrum 40mil lift on my 04 lux…i got ModKingz in Cabramatta…great kit so far no probs…i got the supepro bushings all round and the upper and lower control arm bushings as well as a steering damper and steel torsion bars…best money i ever spent…Question…aren’t you worried about the extra stress on your cv shafts with the 3 inch your’e getting?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate! I've done a diff drop to reduce the stress on CVs and also put spacers on the UCAs to limit downtravel as the CVs were still binding on full droop.

    Hey mate. Have you had any problems with your extended shackles. Mechanic told me pretty convincingly that they are bad

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, no issues other than it rides like dog sh#t 😅 but thats also bevause I have 300kg constant leafs in the back with no weight to bring the shackle angle back to a normal position so all the bumps are going straight into my chassis instead of being absorbed by the leaf and shackle 😅 you'll also need to do a pinion wedge to realign the diff correctly and avoid shudders in acceleration. Not the best way to lift a car but still satisfactory if done with the right supporting mods 👍

  • @tainedannefaerd4989
    @tainedannefaerd4989 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey mate would u recommend getting heavy duty torsion bars or just re splicing stock torsion bars as my bumps stops are up against my upper control arms and front end of car is sagging enough as is so don’t wanna wind down torsion bars anymore. Also got a steel bull bar which is why I’m thinking just to go heavy duty torsion bars?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, HD bars may be the way to go. Should handle the steel bar weight a bit better too all wound up 👍

    Did you upgrade torsion bars. I’ve had a look at Fulcrum and they have a 2 inch but recommend upgrading torsion bar if you have a steel bar. Reckon it’s necessary?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! Mine are formula HD torsion bars and they carry the weight much better. I run the steel bar and a winch so it was necessary to carry the weight :)

    Hey bro, what brand ucas and shocks you going to use now?. I just bought the 3 inch Rancho adjustable shocks and the Blackhawk ucas. But like everything in Australia right now there’s no stock lol.

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, I'm looking at PSR UCA's and looked at the Rancho 9000 rears and 5000 fronts but have a mate that reckons EFS is the shit. He was talking a shock not specifically for the 22 but would fit and allow over 3 inches of travel, and for less money, so I'll investigate that 👌

    • @clevelanholland7773
      @clevelanholland7773 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was going to buy the PSR ucas, but the bushes are trash. They shit themselves very quickly. The Blackhawk ucas utilise the OEM rubber ones which are obviously meant to last and are easy to buy when they do go. Also have caster adjustment. Which psr don’t.
      Yeah they must be Colorado shocks or something similar they have a lot more play. The Ranchos are roughly the same price as the bilsteins but I like the idea of the adjustability

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clevelanholland7773 oh fair enough, thanks for the heads up! Might do a bit of research on that.
      And that's what drew me to the Ranchos, the adjustability 👌 I think they are Collie shocks now that you mention it!

    • @clevelanholland7773
      @clevelanholland7773 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey mate I’ve got a question not about the suspension but I’ve got a d22 2012 with a factory stock bull bar are they right to attach an winch and use like are the sturdy enough? We’re they build to use a winch?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, is it a steel or alloy bar? The steel bar is a bolt it and are made to take a winch, I did an install on my steel bar in a separate video below ✌ if its an alloy bar, you can do it but it needs cutting and an aftermarket cradle 😁
