    Me and my wife own a Daycare and Boarding Facility in Southern California that we opened in 2007. My wife stays there 24/7 365 days a year. We charge 22 a day for daycare and for Boarding we charge 32.50 a night. We offer cageless boarding or Kennel Boarding. I love your setup...

    Wow! Your rates are fair. I have an in home canine camp and for boarding my rates are $45 per night ($75 for 2 siblings) and $35 for day camp. But having a separate kennel outside of the house but on the property is for sure the goal.

    In San Francisco, I used to pay $90/night for boarding and $35 for a 3-hour outing with pickup and drop off included, but it has to be 5 days a week. So if I'm traveling, the monthly cost easily goes above $1000. But there are all-inclusive doggie day cares in SF that starts at $1500/mo, that is, no need to reserve spots, walk in and drop off any day.

  • @teamjesus2407
    @teamjesus2407 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Your prices are so reasonable. I charge $25 a day to keep a dog overnight in my apartment in Ohio. Kennels that don’t do nearly as much as you charge an average of $40 a day.

  • @CDHpetcare
    @CDHpetcare 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Commenting on the prices:
    I charge 25 for drop-in services (similar to what you say your daughter does along with her walks) and that; 's competitive to what the Wag app was charging. The on-demand dog walking app takes about 40% of what pet caretakers earn, so I figure I'm still charging less than the app but keeping all of what I earn. I think your boarding prices are very affordable.
    I just did a video about my local doggy daycare and boarding here in Fort Worth called Camp Bow Wow. I think your prices are about 5 bucks more than their commercial setup, but you definitely have the intimate, lower dog-to-human ratio.
    I believe there were about 30 dogs during my visit (you can count them in the video), so I think for pet parents wanting a more personalized experience, your prices are very reasonable. And you include walks, which CBW does not.
    Both are nice setups for boarding, it just depends on what works for the dog and the dog parent. I would imagine some dogs would be more reactive to having so many other dogs around (and it's loud in the facility), so a smaller kennel would be best for them.

    I love this video. Thank you for all the information. I've never boarded a dog but my husband recently found out his coworker's wife runs a kennel from their home they charge 35 per night in the kennel or 45 if the owner wants their pet to stay inside a pet room in their home. I'm wanting to do this myself because my daughter just started online school. It would be a great way to be home with her and still have an income. Right now I'm still working a full time job. My daughter has a dream of being a dog trainer and these two businesses would go hand in hand.

    I’ve done in home dog sitting for the last 12 years. I’m winding down because I’m ready to retire. For about 7 years I’ve only taken small senior dogs. At this point they all know each other and get along great. Small seniors are a specialized market that my clients really appreciate and it works for me because I’m a senior and the big young ones are too much for me. I charge $39.

  • @ilovesweett

    I’ve been boarding for almost four years this August. We’re in NC and we charge the exact same except on major holidays we charge $40 per overnight and if there are siblings the additional pups are $20 each. We have a lot of repeats. It’s enjoyable but it is a lot of work!

      What does overnight even mean though. 24hours?

    • @ilovesweett
      @ilovesweett ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LandingsTokers not necessarily. For me, a pup can be dropped off early one morning sat at 7/8am and as long as they’re picked up by 8pm the next evening then that’s just one overnight charge. 8pm is my cutoff time because I have kids that need to be in bed by then for school and it’s just a respectful time. Anything later they’re going to be charged another night and if they aren’t willing to pay it then they won’t be coming back.

    Your rates are super good compared to where I work! We charge $51 a night for “luxury” suites and $41 for classic suites. We probably have 100 dogs a night most nights, 60-70 on a “slow” night. And that’s not including any playtime packages or considering that we don’t have enough employees to take care of that many dogs. There’s maybe 3 people working night shift so we never finish up on time.

    $75 per day here in Southern California, including basic obedience.

    You walk the dogs every single hour? How is that possible ?

  • @DigitalCitizen1

    $25 a day, AND $35 a night. So $60?? Maybe, but I perceive you don’t charge enough but I’m from California so expenses are higher

    That's so inexpensive. It's that price for a dog WALK here. Easily $75 and up for overnight at ranch/ kennel

      The Kennel is too far away from the house. I really don't like it.

    $60 right in there. But if you are turning people down, I'd go to $70. I guess it depends on how many customers are in your radius. Because of the long walks, I think it is worth $75. People spend the same on dogs as their kids these days.
