I feel like Wendy being more “active” in the live-action takes away from her character. She’s supposed to be the mature child in the group and teaches the boys to grow up instead of staying as wild kids. The “it’s updated for modern audiences” excuse is stupid.
Indeed. It does take away from her character in the story. She was supposed to teach the boys how to be mature. She’s at a time of her life where she’s expected to act grown up but is still pressed by her brothers to remain childish.
@@riotkitty that’s why I only like the live-action Cinderella since they stayed true to the story and characters without drastically changing anything for the worse.
I thought Wendy was the best character in the film and she’s my favorite character in the film and my favorite Disney live action character and heroine. Ever Anderson is the standout in the film and the best Wendy we’ve ever gotten in any Peter Pan adaptation. Sure she’s bratty at the beginning and slaps Peter Pan at one point but she cares deeply about her brothers and the lost boys and Tinkerbell and Tiger Lily and even Peter Pan she even goes so far as to sacrifice herself to save her brothers and the lost boys so they’d grow up to be good pirates and be spared so she takes their place to walk the plank
If you guys want a good live action peter pan I recommend the one from around 2003. Great effects for the time, amazing acting from the kids and adults, emotional, and with some really profound stuff for a kids movie, and the natives and princess tiger lily are cast by actual native amaerican actors and speak their own actual language. Tigerlily curses out hook and its epic. It takes so cool changes, like the idea that Wendy is attracted to the idea of being a pirate and almost betrays peter, the mermaids are evil, hook and smee and the othe4 pirates are actually competent and threatening. It's amazibg
That one will forever be my favourite live action adaptation. I watched that so much as a kid. I only wish I could find it today on a streaming service. 👍🏻😊
The problem with a lot of these remakes is that they take themselves way too seriously, especially with these dark, cold settings, like Smarty mentioned. With the cast of Hook for example, you could tell they were having fun on the set.
What's really sad is them basically ripping off their own work. They should have done something new with the IP, because without a doubt the 2015 "Pan" movie was the best interpretation of the character. A retelling of his origin story, how he was born, who his parents were, how he has magic, how he met and befriended a young hook. Also it had way better special effects. It was just amazing but I don't think many liked it that much but hopefully because if this movie, people will appreciate it more. Hey you should check out that movie if you want something else.
Hey, I've watched that movie. It wasn't bad; I liked that it tried to do something different with the concept, and Peter's actor was great imo. But I was disappointed with the visuals because it didn't have the fantastical vibe I would expect from Neverland. I liked the 2003 movie more, but the darker tone was interesting.
Disney should be taking notes from Puss in boots the last wish. First off Animation isn’t just for kids,a lot of adults will watch the Disney classics with their kids over the remakes the remakes don’t hold a candle to the classic stories. Second you can get away with so much more in animation I know it’s over said but it’s true. Third, you don’t need a retelling of an old story there are so many ways to make a new one without repeating everything. As for the last wish,I think Disney should experiment more with animation again like they did in the past not just with hand drawn sketches, it’s obvious the CGI for the live action movies built up on nostalgia aren’t working out great or most the people who are working on them are bored and just want a pay check, but so far I think animation was more their style
Instead of awful live-action remakes, i want to see an animated version of Jack and the Beanstalk or Little red ridong hood by Disney. In 2D or 3D with new elements to the stories. I missed 2D animation. The classics are still beautiful with cute characters; Stitch, Simba, Mushu, Bambi etc. The music was epic, the action was fun, the drama was well done. It's sad that there's not this style of animation in Pixar and Disney movies 😢At least Cartoon Saloon is here with creative stories! The compagnie knows how to make good movies and animation! I hope it will return in the futur!

I think no matter how bad the movie is, a lot of people in my country will still watch it. Because a lot of the backgrounds and stuff was filmed in our small country. It’s the same as when the last James Bond movie was made, there were also shots filmed in our country. With a small population of 53000 people, you can imagine how excited people are when big movie studios come here to take movie shots. In fact the shot at 2:14 is taken close to where I live. Those two rock formations are known as the Giant and the Witch, we have a lot of folklore here. The short version of their story is they were trying to pull one of our islands to a different location, and they would always hide under the sea during daylight. But one day they were not under the sea and the sun turned them to stone, making them stay in the same location for all eternity. English is my 3rd language, so sorry for my bad English. But that story was basically the gist of the tale.
Still, if your country is small, that wouldn't give Disney so much profits so not problem Also the movie will be in Disney + so maybe the people from your country will see the movie practically FREE.
Your country looks beautiful! The problem lays in the definition of Neverland being a magical island where everything happens at the same time. This coast is EPIC, in a solemn, mature way.
