Scott was filmed with 5 Contour cameras at 1080p during the live show in Seattle. This song features him wearing a head cam, which shows two stick tosses from his perspective. www.contour.com
@@drummerw17 No way, omg that is so awesome. Where i am from in Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia Canada, we are some really huge Priest fans. I missed the concert they did in Halifax N.S. I really hope they come further down the next time if they come back.
Based on his work in Judas Priest, Racer X and even FIGHT I'd say that Scott Travis is the quintessential Metal drummer. Not saying he's the best ever, but if you want Metal drumming done right he's the man! He's steady, groovy, and he can get technical when it's needed in the song! A true professional!
Every great heavy metal band has a great drummer and Scott Travis is an awesome drummer .His style is brilliant and he always seems to enjoy himself .I met him he said he just loves playing live it gives him a real buzz.
Simply awesome. Love this song, love Priest, love the drumming. Mr Travis has revitalised this and many other classic Priest tunes Soooo.... when is the new album coming out? lololzzzzz
Great to see a super metal drummer not killing himself but giving a 100 percent and having some fun too, also not playing so loud that it chokes the drums, this is why we use mics, nice one Travis!
Scott, great video, thank you for being a major inspiration in my drumming. I will miss seeing you guys live. I saw you guys on the Epitaph tour in Reading, PA, and flew to Chicago for the British Steel anniversary tour. Went to that show with my 2 best friends from HS. Thank you again for all the inspiration.
Scott, ur the best drummer in the world in my opinion. What a rhytm, what a energy, what a performance! When i saw you in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria ... i was like : WoW MAN, are you serious he's like a gun P90.. :) Keep it ! LONG LIVE PRIEST
Boys and girls, this cat is awesome. I saw this dude back in the day with Ripper singin' and I was like whaaaaat? I saw this cat play Desert Plains, son.My buddy met this dude and said he is like 10 feet tall. This cat don't fuck around... easy thumb up!
Double bass drum work always interested me, especially a song like Rapid Fire. Used to be a drummer and I could do somewhat of a drum roll on a single bass drum, kind of double, maybe quick triplet. The synchronization of Scott with those super long arms does look almost effortless. 🤟🏻Keep rockin Priest, love it
Nice one Scott, amazing to watch these videos. I think you make guitarists everywhere appreciate how much you drummers do! (not that we didnt anyway of course! :D)
The irony is that for all the great drummers that Priest had (Les Binks, Simon Phillips, Scott Travis), their most well-known era was with Dave Holland, who was limited at best.
Scott Travis , If This Is REALLY You .. I Got SOO Much To Say .. You Were Like Literally My FIRST Inspration .. For The Drum Set , I First Herd You Ever Since I Was 12 ..
I dont like talking crap about other drummers but i think scott is better than the drummer they had back in 83. Scott is more relaxed and has more dynamics behind the kit
I have to say I seen you in . Jackson Tennessee so many years ago and it was you that made me pick up my sticks again so Travis ty so much oh it was a Van Halen Tribute band I remember you just sat there and talked to me about playing and told me where all you have been it meant so very much me ty again
Wow Scott, amazing footage! Are you planning on filming any shows like this soon? I admire you, your performance in Tilburg two years ago was truly epic!

That was awesome, thank god you found Judas Priest....a rare insight to what goes on up there. It was interesting to hear the sound, do you actually hear much of the music?
Scott, you're my hero. Really, you are! I'm from argentina, i saw you twice back in days, 2008 and 2011. Do you use some facebook fan's page? Take care!
Went and saw them live very recently, gotta say he caught my eye the most throughout the show. His technique is so fluid and relaxed, it’s so smooth with little aggression, which is hard to find in a metal drummer, and even harder to pull off in a metal act. Never even knew his name before the show but he knocked my socks off, I’m not a big drum guy either I’m more into guitar lol
@ScottTravis I just tried Contour! ... and has really improved the quality! Anyway, continue in what you do. It's an interesting insight behind the scenes!
It's VERY DIFFICULT to get audio. It sounds exactly like this back there....exactly. All drums...almost no vocals....and Glenn's amp blasting (since he takes the backs off). The mics get overwhelmed.

Scott for President!!! I just saw "Epitaph". What a concert!!! What a performance!!! Excellent!!!
A drummer in a metal band myself , it’s so amazing his confidence and easiness at what he does . Relaxed and confident

An awesome performance of Rapid Fire! WOW!
Great job with all the classic JP songs. Faithful to the original drums but with a lot more heavier modern sound as a bonus.
Mind blowing talent!

I make it look impossible. Love this track, and the drumming kicks the posterior
I think he can easily play the movie to watch during the show, clearly to to have something to do
And that's what separates the amazing drummers from the good drummers! 🤘
Do it his way then

Travis was a big fan of Les Binks’ playing. I think that’s where part of his style came from.
