    Sir as u said when explaining about Constrained by Draft,
    If a vessel having
    •low ukc(due to draft)
    But
    •Sufficient sea room (Sufficient width of channel)
    is NOT restricted in her ability to deviate from the course she is following.
    My question Such a vessel will still be displaying CBD lights because of her draft (low ukc) ? And will be treated as CBD in next colreg rules for other vessels when taking action?
    Regards

    Hello Capt.,your videos are really in detailed...thanks for uploading...everything was made cleared except one thing ....like you've said, making way n underway is said when vsl is cutting through the water and making her way or underway using her engines...so,basically "underway"n "making way" both are the same term,Acc to you???

    • @thecaptainschannel7206
      @thecaptainschannel7206  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Underway is when floating freely not attached to any thing. Making way is underway plus cutting through the water.

    • @akshaygurnal2087
      @akshaygurnal2087 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Aye Captain,...So,If the vessel is drifting and moving with current, she is underway but not making way and whereas making way is when,the vessel cutting through the water and vessel is in control by helm.If engine is just stopped and she still making wake and cutting through water then she is making way.

    Good day sir. I’ve a doubt. If the vsl is dragging anchor will it become a NUC vsl. And if we are NUC and at anchor, what light signal will we show? NUC light or Anchor Light ? NUC and Anchor light together it becomes Vsl Aground light.

    Heading 000. If our engine speed is 5kts. The wind and currents are experienced on our bow @10kts.
    So are we just Underway or are we Making Way.
    I clearly understand Underway.
    But since we're using our means of propulsion, in this situation, are we making way or Underway?

    • @thecaptainschannel7206
      @thecaptainschannel7206  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's making way if engines were not used you will drift at 10 kts. With engines 5 kts you drop back by 5 kts so making way

    Sir, How much range of Visibility we will consider as a restricted Visibility ?

    • @thecaptainschannel7206
      @thecaptainschannel7206  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rules do not specify the range. In my opinion 3 to 5 miles should be considered as reduced visibility depending on speed of own vessel.

    So it will considered as sight of one another????

      Any craft which is capable of moving from one place to another using more than one mode to travel. Eg sea plane it can move over water and fly in air. It's a multimodal craft.

    • @thecaptainschannel7206
      @thecaptainschannel7206  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since it is RV, rule 19 will apply. Also note that the action will more or less be the same either way.

    • @rsrajeevsingh36
      @rsrajeevsingh36 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Captain's Channel rule 11 says sec 2 to apply in sight of one another..

    • @thecaptainschannel7206
      @thecaptainschannel7206  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Insight of one another means both vessels seeing each other. In RV you may be seeing the other vessel, but is the other vessel seeing you? How do you know. Also note the words in or near an area of RV.
