The tentacle defects were shocking! 😮 How could they have been thinking about this for so long and blow the materials and the connections? Aunt May was obviously a piece of junk from the first reveal, but botching Ock’s defining attribute is a shocking fail even though the buck is interesting. I thought about getting this as my comic/animated Ock, but I’ll wait for the eventual price drop before even considering it. This is insulting.🤨 WTH, Hasbro? Get your head in the game

Although some other reviewers I’ve seen have said heating/boiling gets the tentacles to fully seat past a second “pop” that keeps them in place and working better than Anthony’s review 2 - After a year of overstock, Hasbro will release them to fan channels, who might offer sales. To back your point, even May alone is going for $30-$35 on evilBay
QotD: I actually do want a figure of Aunt May. But I also would like it to be, ya know, good. It's so baffling to me how this line started off so strong with Venom, but every subsequent release has only gotten worse. At this point I'm really hoping that any other company grabs the Spider-Man TAS license to make figures out of. Even if, say, Diamond Select did, I'd happily make it the only 7-inch line outside of Spawn that I collect. Spider-Man TAS is such an important show for so many reasons and it deserves way better than this garbage.
It's simple really. The more popular it gets, the cheaper Hasbro will be to maximize profits. I also wanted an Aunt May btw. Simply because I want the people in Peter's life too but it's a shame it's so bad. Oh well, I got her for $10. And I guess I'll pay similar for MJ.
Yeah, Aunt May is honestly a more important character than a lot of other superheroes and villains we've already gotten. But like you said, that's no excuse to make this lazy ass figure that doesn't look anything like the source material and calling it "Aunt May"
@@raceofbk Not necessarily. Take this Doc Ock for instance... It definitely doesn't move well at all. You're going to have a hard time getting any real interesting poses due to that AND the tentacle issues.
The paint on Doc Ock reminds me of how a lot of toys were painted when I was a kid. I have a very strong emotional and nostalgic attachment towards this version of Doc Ock. The Aunt May is whatever, but this Doc Ock is my mind’s eye of the character. He could use just a touch of paint in the sculpted lines, but it’s still a really nice look. Getting mine in the mail soon.
Love the honesty! I still watch Legends reviews, but am so glad I have pretty much stopped buying unless $7 clearance. Sometimes they are not worth that. Keep up with obvious and honest reviews. Hard to find someone who does not mind stating the truth.
@@sigerlion8608 Yeah, agreed. At this point, they have become cheap ways to get my kid involved in action figures. Hasbro doesn't care and they think they are too big to fail. I am hoping I am around to watch them fall. I collected sports cards for a bit, and now Panini has the same crap QC and overproduction that Hasbro has. Unfortunate, but I don't spend my money on crap. So I save a bit.

I saw someone in a Marvel Legends Facebook group say that you were ridiculous in saying that this doc ock can’t stand on the tentacles, and posted a picture of him doing just that. I was so tempted to say to him “yeah, what you’re not telling us is how many times you tried to get him to stand and how many times he inevitably fell over in doing so.” Just because there’s a slight chance that a figure can achieve a certain pose, doesn’t mean it always will. There’s a thing called quality control, which is different in experience from person to person. It’s the classic argument “well mine stands, so that means you’re wrong.” no that just means that you happened to get lucky or were desperate enough to prove a point that it “can stand” according to you, and potentially you alone. It’s amazing how controversial Hasbro is as a company, and how controversial their fan base is as a result.
yeah. it can technically be balanced if youre willing to sit there for an hour...and it wont even last that long. it cant actually be posed in any meaningful way.
@@AnthonysCustoms true, any pose on a figure can be achieved with the right amount of patience, but there’s no reason for it not to be easier to achieve on a character like Ock, who is known for standing on his tentacles.
You know the nervous face or the disgust face people make like dry heaving thats the face of aunt Mae. Doc Ock lacks outlines on the armor piecess on the outside of the orange. I like how Anthony is mad and laughing at the same time😂.
Man, ever since I got into your reviews I thought you were just being nitpicky but the more I get myself into action figures I can't help but noticed qc issues in a figure that really killed the overall look and have been way more picky and carefully selective of the figures I get. Keep up the good work for collector's sake coz Hasbro is just killing their marvel releases literally.

People need to stop calling out reviewers and critics for "nitpicking". It's a terrible defence for shit products and is almost always invorrectly attributed.

The tentacles can support him if you get him in a specific pose. Seen another TH-camr (Dan who reviews. At 13 minutes in) do it and I’ve got it displayed that way. They just have to be set a little wide.
I much prefer your realistic and slightly negative reviews then the overly positive reviews. If i am spending money on something that is not a necessity to live, it better be worth it. Some people might say that you are overly crtiical and petty when you point out stuff like that thigh cut, but you back it up with a logicial reason.
Honestly dude, if anything you’re too positive on these Marvel Legends figures. Personally, if an action figure cannot stand on its own (and these ones can’t, even on a flat surface) then they get a ZERO. Why should they get any score higher, when they can’t pose, they’re literally called ‘action’ figures. That’s the whole point of them. Paying premium prices for items that don’t perform their basic functionalities, is daylight robbery and the people who defend Hasbro’s practices, don’t care about getting better products for their money, which we won’t get, as long as we don’t give these companies honest feedback. At some point, they will HAVE to listen.
In defense of Aunt May, I'm probably the only person on Earth that wanted this one over Doc Ock. 2 reasons: a. I'm glad Hasbro got around to making a 1:12 scale version of the old ToyBiz 12 in figure. b. Maybe with the overlays removed you've got a decent base for a custom Golden Oldie. Think about how great she'd look next to Galactus! We need more heralds anyway!
Bro I completely agree with you on the horrible sculpting. We have EVERY right to be angry and negative, considering what we pay for these figs. It's 2023 and there is simply no excuse for laziness. The detail that companies like McFarlane toys have been putting out for over 20 years, and they started as a small company. Hasbro IS the biggest toy company next to Mattel so for them to put out hot garbage is ridiculous. I happen to collect WWE figures from Mattel, and 98% of the time they put out awesome figs EVERY time.
I genuinely don’t understand the people who defend & continue to buy marvel legends, I’m guessing they’re either shills getting free stuff from hasbro or they quite literally ONLY collect Marvel legends so anything vaguely resembling something new or an incremental improvement (and that’s being generous) from hasbro gets treated like a gift from god & massive step up. It genuinely feels like unless the figure is a 0/10 complete dumpster fire, Marvel legends fans will give it a pass & eat it up (part of me also suspects that some collectors are afraid that if they don’t support ML/hasbro it’ll be the end of marvel legends again and tbh I’d much rather have no toys than shit toys).
The absolute dumbest thing in the world… Hasbro went the greedy route by packing a figure nobody wants in and quarter assing the quality on both when they could’ve went even half assed on Doc Ock, sold him a premium deluxe figure and people would’ve paid 60 for him, by himself… the people who run that company just aren’t bright.
With the cost of these figures, I think heavier criticism is appropriate. If I pay $50 for a filet, I don’t want 50% of it to be some other tough poorly cooked cut of beef that was thrown on the plate. I’ve certainly cut back on my Hasbro purchases, particularly marvel, in recent years because I feel like I’m ordering a filet and getting a small chunk of good meat with the rest being filler McDonald burgers.
I wanted both figures in this set, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t the most hyped about Aunt May. As one of the most important characters in the Spider-Man mythos, I was excited to finally have her. To each their own I guess.
I hate that everyone always says that it’s passable when it comes to marvel legends. This product is never gonna get any better because most people buy it up without saying anything
Doc Ock has some things that could be fixed up like gluing in the tentacles so they don't rotate or using a Gundam marker for the panel lines (Nothing that can be done for those thigh panels sadly) so for that alone, he's better than Aunt May, who's just a redo of the Peggy Carter in that WWII Cap two pack. Still even though I like modding my figures, not everyone does, these guys should come as close to perfect as they can stock, barring QC issues of course. Why couldn't Hasbro do the panel lining? Square pegs for the tentacles? I don't even care for this character design much and even I would be bowled over if they showed they cared at Hasbro. The ineptitude feels almost on purpose at this point
We need all of Spideys characters. Hasbro knew what they were doing packaging her with a fig many would want. You know she'll be retooled into a comic ver later on.
All facts by Anthony. Again, some of these reviewers are just happy to have a "representative" in the collection even if it looks bad. They say these figures are great when in fact they are horrible. For the price, I personally don't think marvel legends are worth the plastic they represent. The last marvel legends I bought was ulik from walmart for $10. I have the sdcc boxset but why not upgrade a decent, not great, figure for a ten dollar bill? Hasbro makes too much money for people to keep letting them get away with making BS.
Was there a survey that Hasbro sent out to their collectors with one of those questions being "how important is articulation when purchasing our products" and did people respond with "not really important?" Lol because 90% of their stuff can't articulate for shit.
I mostly just wanted swole doc ock and actually didn't mind getting an Aunt May. I was kinda looking forward to it. But then I saw Aunt May and straight up wondered why they gave the best Willem Dafoe headsculpt to Aunt May. I had no expectations for her figure and was still disappointed. The Doc Ock was disappointing too. The big draw was the bendy tentacles and they blew it.
Ok so I sold my entire Marvel Legends collection 3-4 years ago, back then I would watch your reviews and think you were very negative. Now I collect mainly Neca TMNT, when I watch your reviews now your absolutely correct 💯! Now that I’m no longer in the Hasbro ML Cult I see the light you where right all along! It’s disgusting, disgraceful and disrespectful that all they care about is taking your money! Neca puts more paint on their accessories then Hasbro does on whole figures! It’s a JOKE! 😂
The way they butchered the poseable tentacles is *shocking.* They're the *main* reason a lot of people want this 2-pack! Not accounting for the weight of the arms when designing how they plug into the back is an amateur mistake, and the stiff plastic is so weird when the Sentinel's tentacles were fine in that regard. You mentioned it feeling like the person who cuts up the sculpt is not the sculptor, but here it feels like the different designers aren't even sharing their work with each other. Was there some office beef over at Hasbro? A bad breakup? Someone ate someone else's lunch?
I'm so tired of them using this VHS line to get old or retooled figures back out. Unless you're in a country which has pulse(which I don't) you have to over pay for these figures that aren't even worth the asking price. It's just stupid. Hasbro is just ridiculous.
McD’s toy nailed it and I’m starting to wonder if hasbro looks at their customers like children receiving a happy meal. It’s more like the child receiving the happy meal is running the company. People with cardboard signs asking for money are better at selling goodwill to strangers than the toy companies make you want to buy their toys.

I had heard the claws from the Amazon 2 pack were interchangeable with the claws on this Doc Ock, not sure how much that’ll help it stand overall on those wobbly tentacles.
Doc Ocs tentacles are too heavy to be supported by the joint - Makes it awkward to pose and they'll keep moving over time. They REALLY should have locked in place better. Added a tiiiiiny tiiiny bit of superglue just to keep them in place and it makes a whole world of difference.
God, how depressing. I almost have to hope they don't make more characters that I want anytime soon, because what are the odds they come out just as bad? I'll echo a Twitter comment I made, which is: with how good the Jada Street Fighter line looks, I need that company to get the rights to MvC and show us just how good retail Marvel heroes can be. I can't stop picturing how good they would be compared to current Legends. All that being said, thanks for the review! I always appreciate knowing what to avoid.
9:51 That is absolutely pathetic. It might as well be sculpted onto the neck rather than making it a joint. But what’s even sadder is seeing people defend Hasbro and these crappy figures. Ik I said this before but I genuinely think the people hard defending these either never owned anything outside of a Hasbro product or just have low standards outside of it looking somewhat like the character. And for the main complaint that imports cost too much, for as much as you spend on an entire wave of Marvel Legends (a wave of ML equals basically a SH Figarts or even a Mafex), it wouldn’t hurt to buy an import figure. Sure you pay more for one figure but I’d rather pay more for one really good figure than more for a bunch of mid-trash figures.
Another factor is that the people who defend hasbro are doing it to get recognition on the Internet. They think either hasbro will like them or they can find their identity as a hasbro fan.
I only wanted this set because of Doc Ock as I wasn’t able to get his first release, this is also my preferred look to him tho. As for Aunt May, I am so glad my friend wanted her and not Doc. She looks like she had an accident in her pants or saw something pretty messed up and she’s confused. Shoot the Mary Jane McDonalds Toy looks closer to the source material 😂 Great review! I'm having a lot of fucking trouble with these shit arms. I can't peg all four of em into the old octopus figures like they said you'd be able to. The plastic on the old octopus is too rigid. Even if you heat it up, the pegs are too soft and too large that they quickly absorb heat from the heated octopus figure and become even softer.
They new exactly what they were doing, charge double the price and you get a figure that no one is going to get. Otherwise that figure was going to sit. I honestly wish we got a retro card back Doc ock
Qotd #1 Yes. Qotd #2 no. As a comic book character collector, I find this Aunt May a terrible representation. Hasbro has had the ML license for 20 years and they still haven't managed to make an Aunt May who has only been a character in comic lore since 1962. It can't be easy having to find something redeemable over these. I do not find your reviews negative at all. I find them sincere. I prefer sincerity over bull crap any day.

I remember seeing the preorder for this and the biggest sell factor was Doc Ock with long bendable tentacles as displayed in the pictures. Seeing them as limp noodles with baby claws is disappointing to me and I think those are the longest Doc Ock tentacles on a figure to date. It might be ok on a shelf but I pick my figures based on how well I can use them for stop motion animation therefore possibility and holding said pose is a must. Great Review, I wish this Doc Ock was a single release or with a Spiderman. Personally I want Marvel to move on to the Spiderman no way home Doc Ock, I'm kinda done with bright green plastic-- let's hope for the best.
Thanks for the video! When I’m on the fence about a purchase I check out your reviews and it talks me out of it every time haha. Seriously tho, the tentacle set up really killed this for me. My comic Doc Ock peg hole got stripped from rotating the tentacles and now they won’t hold in place. I guess you shouldn’t play with your action figures 😢
I was really tempted with this doc ock cause the design for ock looks awesome and the best. However this being a two pack and hasbro pulse exclusive I couldn't get. Also I am seeing a lot of issues. For the time I am ok with the toybiz series 8 ock. Great review as always, I was waiting for ur review on this set
You are too negative, Anthony 😠 Aunt May was clearly designed to at least do her iconic T Pose against her enemies! Peak action figure design from the small toy company better known as Hasbro. Seriously though, for how much that pack costs they could have at least added a swappable skirt to pose her sitting like some figmas do. Edit to answer the questions of the day: I really wanted this Doc Ock, this is the design I am most fond of, but being released as a two pack is a big nope from me. I am perfectly happy with my super amateurly modded Doc Ock from the... Was it the Sp/dr wave? That one is great with these cheap usb lamps bendable tubes. I can see a lot of people modding this one too because these bendable tentacles are bad.
This was my most anticipated release from them and I am so upset by what came.. I looked past the aunt May be ause I genuinely thought this doc ock would be great but the first thing I noticed is there were 2 open and 2 closed tentacle claws which is whack.. after seeing this review I'm really just bummed.. looking at the tentacles and his head joint.. good God.. I really hope the tentacles at least do better with the comic book ock.. man what a terrible company.. I'm sure I'll at least be able to make him look alright in my display..
Don't change how you review figures for anything. The honesty in pointing out the {increasingly} flawed composition of these pieces is greatly appreciated. Keep on keeping on. Those who gloss over bad work are just pandering for favoritism from Hasbro. (Who?) you get my point.
Anthony, I don’t think those people who say you’re too harsh, don’t realize your looking at figures, with way more anatomy and figure making knowledge than most TH-cam figure reviewers and collectors. At least I hope. That would b like you doing your reviews in bad visual quality or maybe the mic not functioning properly and u don’t do anything about it. These same people would be all over you complaining how bad your editing is. You could pull a hasblow and just say “well at least you got a review”.

A decent Aunt May is really needed. She goes well in a Spiderman diorama with a baddie capturing her. She is as essential as MJ and Gwen. This does look like a dude and not like May. Hasbro went cheap and made a lousy figure. Would not buy this since already have comic Doc Ock with custom bendy wires. Love the animated better but not worth having to get a bad figure alongside him.

Aunt May can T-pose at villains to assert dominance. And she is mocking their fear by making that face. 10/10 figure.
The tentacle defects were shocking! 😮 How could they have been thinking about this for so long and blow the materials and the connections? Aunt May was obviously a piece of junk from the first reveal, but botching Ock’s defining attribute is a shocking fail even though the buck is interesting.
I thought about getting this as my comic/animated Ock, but I’ll wait for the eventual price drop before even considering it. This is insulting.🤨 WTH, Hasbro? Get your head in the game

2 - After a year of overstock, Hasbro will release them to fan channels, who might offer sales. To back your point, even May alone is going for $30-$35 on evilBay

It's so baffling to me how this line started off so strong with Venom, but every subsequent release has only gotten worse. At this point I'm really hoping that any other company grabs the Spider-Man TAS license to make figures out of. Even if, say, Diamond Select did, I'd happily make it the only 7-inch line outside of Spawn that I collect.
Spider-Man TAS is such an important show for so many reasons and it deserves way better than this garbage.
It's simple really. The more popular it gets, the cheaper Hasbro will be to maximize profits.

@@raceofbk Not necessarily. Take this Doc Ock for instance... It definitely doesn't move well at all. You're going to have a hard time getting any real interesting poses due to that AND the tentacle issues.
The paint on Doc Ock reminds me of how a lot of toys were painted when I was a kid. I have a very strong emotional and nostalgic attachment towards this version of Doc Ock. The Aunt May is whatever, but this Doc Ock is my mind’s eye of the character. He could use just a touch of paint in the sculpted lines, but it’s still a really nice look. Getting mine in the mail soon.
Love the honesty! I still watch Legends reviews, but am so glad I have pretty much stopped buying unless $7 clearance. Sometimes they are not worth that. Keep up with obvious and honest reviews. Hard to find someone who does not mind stating the truth.
@@sigerlion8608 Yeah, agreed. At this point, they have become cheap ways to get my kid involved in action figures. Hasbro doesn't care and they think they are too big to fail. I am hoping I am around to watch them fall. I collected sports cards for a bit, and now Panini has the same crap QC and overproduction that Hasbro has. Unfortunate, but I don't spend my money on crap. So I save a bit.

I saw someone in a Marvel Legends Facebook group say that you were ridiculous in saying that this doc ock can’t stand on the tentacles, and posted a picture of him doing just that. I was so tempted to say to him “yeah, what you’re not telling us is how many times you tried to get him to stand and how many times he inevitably fell over in doing so.” Just because there’s a slight chance that a figure can achieve a certain pose, doesn’t mean it always will. There’s a thing called quality control, which is different in experience from person to person. It’s the classic argument “well mine stands, so that means you’re wrong.” no that just means that you happened to get lucky or were desperate enough to prove a point that it “can stand” according to you, and potentially you alone. It’s amazing how controversial Hasbro is as a company, and how controversial their fan base is as a result.
yeah. it can technically be balanced if youre willing to sit there for an hour...and it wont even last that long. it cant actually be posed in any meaningful way.
@@AnthonysCustoms true, any pose on a figure can be achieved with the right amount of patience, but there’s no reason for it not to be easier to achieve on a character like Ock, who is known for standing on his tentacles.
You know the nervous face or the disgust face people make like dry heaving thats the face of aunt Mae. Doc Ock lacks outlines on the armor piecess on the outside of the orange. I like how Anthony is mad and laughing at the same time😂.
Man, ever since I got into your reviews I thought you were just being nitpicky but the more I get myself into action figures I can't help but noticed qc issues in a figure that really killed the overall look and have been way more picky and carefully selective of the figures I get. Keep up the good work for collector's sake coz Hasbro is just killing their marvel releases literally.

The tentacles can support him if you get him in a specific pose. Seen another TH-camr (Dan who reviews. At 13 minutes in) do it and I’ve got it displayed that way. They just have to be set a little wide.
Yeah. That one specific pose that's basically just balancing. The wire isn't strong enough for real posing.
I much prefer your realistic and slightly negative reviews then the overly positive reviews. If i am spending money on something that is not a necessity to live, it better be worth it. Some people might say that you are overly crtiical and petty when you point out stuff like that thigh cut, but you back it up with a logicial reason.
Some people will go through intense mental gymnastics to justify a purchase or try to get free product.

Honestly dude, if anything you’re too positive on these Marvel Legends figures. Personally, if an action figure cannot stand on its own (and these ones can’t, even on a flat surface) then they get a ZERO. Why should they get any score higher, when they can’t pose, they’re literally called ‘action’ figures. That’s the whole point of them. Paying premium prices for items that don’t perform their basic functionalities, is daylight robbery and the people who defend Hasbro’s practices, don’t care about getting better products for their money, which we won’t get, as long as we don’t give these companies honest feedback. At some point, they will HAVE to listen.
Whenever I see those heeled feet with a dress like that restricting leg movement, I get PTSD flashbacks to House of X Jean Grey falling over.

In defense of Aunt May, I'm probably the only person on Earth that wanted this one over Doc Ock. 2 reasons:
a. I'm glad Hasbro got around to making a 1:12 scale version of the old ToyBiz 12 in figure.
b. Maybe with the overlays removed you've got a decent base for a custom Golden Oldie. Think about how great she'd look next to Galactus! We need more heralds anyway!
Bro I completely agree with you on the horrible sculpting. We have EVERY right to be angry and negative, considering what we pay for these figs. It's 2023 and there is simply no excuse for laziness. The detail that companies like McFarlane toys have been putting out for over 20 years, and they started as a small company. Hasbro IS the biggest toy company next to Mattel so for them to put out hot garbage is ridiculous. I happen to collect WWE figures from Mattel, and 98% of the time they put out awesome figs EVERY time.

I genuinely don’t understand the people who defend & continue to buy marvel legends, I’m guessing they’re either shills getting free stuff from hasbro or they quite literally ONLY collect Marvel legends so anything vaguely resembling something new or an incremental improvement (and that’s being generous) from hasbro gets treated like a gift from god & massive step up.
It genuinely feels like unless the figure is a 0/10 complete dumpster fire, Marvel legends fans will give it a pass & eat it up (part of me also suspects that some collectors are afraid that if they don’t support ML/hasbro it’ll be the end of marvel legends again and tbh I’d much rather have no toys than shit toys).
Aunt May should have come with a chair and tv so she could watch her programs.

The absolute dumbest thing in the world… Hasbro went the greedy route by packing a figure nobody wants in and quarter assing the quality on both when they could’ve went even half assed on Doc Ock, sold him a premium deluxe figure and people would’ve paid 60 for him, by himself… the people who run that company just aren’t bright.

With the cost of these figures, I think heavier criticism is appropriate. If I pay $50 for a filet, I don’t want 50% of it to be some other tough poorly cooked cut of beef that was thrown on the plate.
I’ve certainly cut back on my Hasbro purchases, particularly marvel, in recent years because I feel like I’m ordering a filet and getting a small chunk of good meat with the rest being filler McDonald burgers.
I wanted both figures in this set, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t the most hyped about Aunt May. As one of the most important characters in the Spider-Man mythos, I was excited to finally have her. To each their own I guess.

Doc Ock has some things that could be fixed up like gluing in the tentacles so they don't rotate or using a Gundam marker for the panel lines (Nothing that can be done for those thigh panels sadly) so for that alone, he's better than Aunt May, who's just a redo of the Peggy Carter in that WWII Cap two pack.
Still even though I like modding my figures, not everyone does, these guys should come as close to perfect as they can stock, barring QC issues of course. Why couldn't Hasbro do the panel lining? Square pegs for the tentacles? I don't even care for this character design much and even I would be bowled over if they showed they cared at Hasbro. The ineptitude feels almost on purpose at this point
We need all of Spideys characters. Hasbro knew what they were doing packaging her with a fig many would want. You know she'll be retooled into a comic ver later on.

All facts by Anthony. Again, some of these reviewers are just happy to have a "representative" in the collection even if it looks bad. They say these figures are great when in fact they are horrible. For the price, I personally don't think marvel legends are worth the plastic they represent. The last marvel legends I bought was ulik from walmart for $10. I have the sdcc boxset but why not upgrade a decent, not great, figure for a ten dollar bill? Hasbro makes too much money for people to keep letting them get away with making BS.
Was there a survey that Hasbro sent out to their collectors with one of those questions being "how important is articulation when purchasing our products" and did people respond with "not really important?" Lol because 90% of their stuff can't articulate for shit.
I mostly just wanted swole doc ock and actually didn't mind getting an Aunt May. I was kinda looking forward to it. But then I saw Aunt May and straight up wondered why they gave the best Willem Dafoe headsculpt to Aunt May. I had no expectations for her figure and was still disappointed. The Doc Ock was disappointing too. The big draw was the bendy tentacles and they blew it.
Ok so I sold my entire Marvel Legends collection 3-4 years ago, back then I would watch your reviews and think you were very negative. Now I collect mainly Neca TMNT, when I watch your reviews now your absolutely correct 💯! Now that I’m no longer in the Hasbro ML Cult I see the light you where right all along! I think i pre-ordered when they first opened up pre-orders.
The way they butchered the poseable tentacles is *shocking.* They're the *main* reason a lot of people want this 2-pack! Not accounting for the weight of the arms when designing how they plug into the back is an amateur mistake, and the stiff plastic is so weird when the Sentinel's tentacles were fine in that regard.
You mentioned it feeling like the person who cuts up the sculpt is not the sculptor, but here it feels like the different designers aren't even sharing their work with each other. Was there some office beef over at Hasbro? A bad breakup? Someone ate someone else's lunch?
I'm so tired of them using this VHS line to get old or retooled figures back out. Unless you're in a country which has pulse(which I don't) you have to over pay for these figures that aren't even worth the asking price. It's just stupid. Hasbro is just ridiculous.

McD’s toy nailed it and I’m starting to wonder if hasbro looks at their customers like children receiving a happy meal. It’s more like the child receiving the happy meal is running the company. People with cardboard signs asking for money are better at selling goodwill to strangers than the toy companies make you want to buy their toys.

I had heard the claws from the Amazon 2 pack were interchangeable with the claws on this Doc Ock, not sure how much that’ll help it stand overall on those wobbly tentacles.
Doc Ocs tentacles are too heavy to be supported by the joint - Makes it awkward to pose and they'll keep moving over time. They REALLY should have locked in place better.
Added a tiiiiiny tiiiny bit of superglue just to keep them in place and it makes a whole world of difference.

I'll echo a Twitter comment I made, which is: with how good the Jada Street Fighter line looks, I need that company to get the rights to MvC and show us just how good retail Marvel heroes can be. I can't stop picturing how good they would be compared to current Legends.

That is absolutely pathetic. It might as well be sculpted onto the neck rather than making it a joint. But what’s even sadder is seeing people defend Hasbro and these crappy figures. Ik I said this before but I genuinely think the people hard defending these either never owned anything outside of a Hasbro product or just have low standards outside of it looking somewhat like the character. And for the main complaint that imports cost too much, for as much as you spend on an entire wave of Marvel Legends (a wave of ML equals basically a SH Figarts or even a Mafex), it wouldn’t hurt to buy an import figure. Sure you pay more for one figure but I’d rather pay more for one really good figure than more for a bunch of mid-trash figures.
Another factor is that the people who defend hasbro are doing it to get recognition on the Internet. They think either hasbro will like them or they can find their identity as a hasbro fan.
I only wanted this set because of Doc Ock as I wasn’t able to get his first release, this is also my preferred look to him tho. As for Aunt May, I am so glad my friend wanted her and not Doc. She looks like she had an accident in her pants or saw something pretty messed up and she’s confused. Shoot the Mary Jane McDonalds Toy looks closer to the source material 😂

I'm having a lot of fucking trouble with these shit arms. I can't peg all four of em into the old octopus figures like they said you'd be able to. The plastic on the old octopus is too rigid. Even if you heat it up, the pegs are too soft and too large that they quickly absorb heat from the heated octopus figure and become even softer.

Hasbro has had the ML license for 20 years and they still haven't managed to make an Aunt May who has only been a character in comic lore since 1962. It can't be easy having to find something redeemable over these. I do not find your reviews negative at all. I find them sincere. I prefer sincerity over bull crap any day.

I remember seeing the preorder for this and the biggest sell factor was Doc Ock with long bendable tentacles as displayed in the pictures. Seeing them as limp noodles with baby claws is disappointing to me and I think those are the longest Doc Ock tentacles on a figure to date. It might be ok on a shelf but I pick my figures based on how well I can use them for stop motion animation therefore possibility and holding said pose is a must. Great Review, I wish this Doc Ock was a single release or with a Spiderman. Personally I want Marvel to move on to the Spiderman no way home Doc Ock, I'm kinda done with bright green plastic-- let's hope for the best.

My comic Doc Ock peg hole got stripped from rotating the tentacles and now they won’t hold in place. I guess you shouldn’t play with your action figures 😢
I was really tempted with this doc ock cause the design for ock looks awesome and the best. However this being a two pack and hasbro pulse exclusive I couldn't get. Also I am seeing a lot of issues. For the time I am ok with the toybiz series 8 ock. Great review as always, I was waiting for ur review on this set

I really wanted this Doc Ock, this is the design I am most fond of, but being released as a two pack is a big nope from me.
I am perfectly happy with my super amateurly modded Doc Ock from the... Was it the Sp/dr wave? That one is great with these cheap usb lamps bendable tubes.
I can see a lot of people modding this one too because these bendable tentacles are bad.
This was my most anticipated release from them and I am so upset by what came.. I looked past the aunt May be ause I genuinely thought this doc ock would be great but the first thing I noticed is there were 2 open and 2 closed tentacle claws which is whack.. after seeing this review I'm really just bummed.. looking at the tentacles and his head joint.. good God.. I really hope the tentacles at least do better with the comic book ock.. man what a terrible company.. I'm sure I'll at least be able to make him look alright in my display..

Anthony, I don’t think those people who say you’re too harsh, don’t realize your looking at figures, with way more anatomy and figure making knowledge than most TH-cam figure reviewers and collectors. At least I hope. That would b like you doing your reviews in bad visual quality or maybe the mic not functioning properly and u don’t do anything about it. These same people would be all over you complaining how bad your editing is. You could pull a hasblow and just say “well at least you got a review”.

A decent Aunt May is really needed. She goes well in a Spiderman diorama with a baddie capturing her. She is as essential as MJ and Gwen. This does look like a dude and not like May. Hasbro went cheap and made a lousy figure. Would not buy this since already have comic Doc Ock with custom bendy wires. Love the animated better but not worth having to get a bad figure alongside him.
