Objectivity is exactly why i usually come to Anthony for figure reviews. The $19.99, "dont be to harsh, just a toy"and sculpt over accessories are just shitty ways of shilling trashy products and practices.
I've officially had it...I had to go ahead and become a member of your channel. I simply couldn't bear another sit through of these funny ass reviews of total trash and not show my appreciation in some small way! But on a serious note, you are proving a real valuable service to the collecting community. Whether or not everyone agrees, this is simply true. These are times of outrageous price hikes on everything in life and as collectors we need to be a lot more selective of what we buy and which of these companies we support. It has been made abundantly clear that Hasbro (the company, not necessarily the small band of people working on the line who may or may not have some semblance of respect for their customers) outright loathes us adult collectors. They see us as nothing more than cash cows they can milk endlessly while they throw this garbage in our faces. And me reaching this conclusion is in no small part due to you, Anthony. I thank you for this and many others should as well!
Collecting Marvel Legends feels like going through a check list. You’re buying characters to complete teams and display on a shelf. It’s one thing to like a character, but the problem is that when the nostalgia and character love wears off are they good action figures? I remember when I got the Mafex Jean Grey. The paint application on the face was so clean and crisp. The sculpt was beautiful and she poses very well. She looked like she jumped right off the comic cover and reminded me of her look in X-Men #303. From there I bought Psylocke, Gambit, Storm, and Thor. Sure I like the characters, but a main motivator was just they made good figures. They pose well, look like the soruce material, and have fun accessories. Sure they cost more, but I would rather buy one good figure of a character that I like than 5 mediocre figures of characters I like. These outdated articulated legends with boring faces and paltry accessory counts are not fun. They aren’t innovated, they can’t pose well, and aside from it being a character there’s nothing appealing about them as action figures.
i think it would be a fun metric to keep tally of good/bad releases from marvel legends. i'd estimate that they typically run a 20% success rate, which is just abysmal.
I fancy adding here, too, that I chortled myself delightfully on the way home from hospital this evening! Your laugh near the video’s end is brilliantly infectious, dear boy! It has been a long, arduous day here working at hospital, so I thank you for keeping me in high spirits!
I've noticed, the guys that back marvel and Hasbro, are just happy to get a figure of a character. Similar to the movies, they don't care about accuracy or likeness to these characters. They're just happy to be apart of the group and say "I got that new figure" or "I just saw that new Marvel movie"
Dude seriously just greatful your one of the only reviewers who doesn’t shill for free figures no one’s honestly reviewing figures like you do and no one’s standing up against hasbro like you do good work man
Yeah, I can see why this probably won’t sell very many copies. Isn’t this the third time we’ve gotten Terrax? At this rate, it’s almost like Hasbro will just eventually release the build a figure characters in these packs with the bare minimum thrown in.
I find it funny how people enjoy attacking you for disliking HasBro products, and when you put forward objective thoughts and make sense, they say "grown ass men whining about a toy" and "it's just a toy bro". There's no convincing these people either way, they're total clowns.
Must have been a typo on the price. It was supposed to be 36$. I like how the gloves arent even painted evenly on both arms, one side goes up to the cut for arriculation, and the other doesn't.
It really seems like Hasbro tries to have it both ways where they know they're marketing towards actual collectors, but at the same time pretend their target demographic is children so they think they can get away with selling crappy toys for children at collector prices. AND THEY DO. Incredible...
I honestly just wanted to get this for Terrax, but I'm being very selective with the figures I buy lately, I only backed Giant Man cause I really really have been praying for a release of him in a big scale, lol. But yeah, always agree with you man, the only way I see myself buying something like this is on clearance
Same, hasbro's been lazy with marvel legends this year, specially with them re-releasing old ass figures nobody wanted (6 arm spidey, dr spectrum on bucky cap body mold, morbius, venom space knight baf, super adaptoid)
I got it just for Terrax. I know he's an old mold, but I didn't get him. That was long before I started collecting Marvel Legends. I'm happy to have him. The Nameless One could go in the garbage for all I care, but Terrax... Very happy with him.
This would've been a great opportunity for Hasbro to remake this figure, give us some new sculpt, make it pinless, maybe throw an alternate head or 2, but hasbro be hasbro

It sucks how ppl dont care about the quality and continue to buy stuff no matter the price hikes and short cuts hasbro makes. I see how black series exclusives are 27.99! with tax its a little over 30, i thought maybe ppl wouldn't buy as much and was hoping it would lead to hasbro lowering the price, but saw how Commander Appo was being army built by many people regardless of the 30 dollar price point, since ppl keep on buying, hasbro will just continue to raise the prices and cut back quality because they can get away with so much because people do not seem to care about quality or ridiculously expensive prices

As a marvel legends collector, I feel sad for this toy line, compared to GI joe classified, which has better sculpted details and accessories. The marvel legends team keep coming up with new ways to sell the same figure, with slightly better sculpt or slightly better paint, why cant they do it right the first time? the hulk bruce banner 2 pack for example could have been awesome if the included a partially transformed arm or a screaming head with green eyes. it feels like they keep holding out on us collectors just so they can sell us the slightly better but same figure a couple of years from now.
