  • Swapping a coil is almost a full strip down on this one!

Thank you for this video. My 10+ year old Echo blower quit on me last weekend - with no spark. I began disassembly to get to the ignition coil and thought I must be confused. But your video shows that I really had to completely disassemble the blower to get to the coil. This Echo BP265L has been my most reliable yard power tool. So, no complaints here. I am just glad you provided the steps and tips to get it fixed.

Excellent instructions, thanks a lot. The only problem I has was that the old wire was damaged trying to get the boot off. Unfortunately I had purchased a new boot and spark plug connector. They were fairly inexpensive so I would recommend getting both new. Runs great again

Great video man I just had to do the repair to my mother's machine and now it's working again. Your video really helped with the disassembly of the back half of the unit plus the business card trick to space the coil between the magnet was a hot tip as I didnt have my feeler gauges onhand. Take care.

Even with gas cap and air filter off????

Make sure the cylinder is tightened down to the the block. I've seen the bolts come loose and it can't create enough suction for the fuel.

If the coil is bad will it keep the blower from starting? Blower worked fine last time I used it a week ago and will not start now. Fuel is good and new plug as well

Absolutely. Pull the plug, plug it in the wire then ground it and pull to see if you have spark.

@@TepcoCycleRepair I just did that and no spark (new plug). Does that mean it's the coil?

You say to look at previous video to determine if the coil! Which video are you referring to?

Thank you, I have a similar tester and I am getting no spark, so I am assuming the coil is dead.

Disconnect the kill switch to the coil first and see if that works. Kill switch wire could be shorting out.
