Whilst filming in a public place is perfectly ok and not illegal, it’s probably best not to cause problems with the landowner who is doing you a great favour by turning a blind eye to you (a) parking on a byway and (b) staying overnight. If people want to continue to enjoy the freedom of parking and staying on the Drove it is in everyone’s interest to respect the landowner wishes. The more aggregation the sooner the Drove will be cleared and closed off at night. The only legal rights people have on a byeway is to pass over it without stopping.
Keep filming everything you can, I can imagine the staff would rather watch someone faint with heat stroke, then even suggest that a decent human living a van has some free water.

If you're on public land you can film and take photos of anything and everything your eye can see, whether that is jobs worths, or looking into private property. You can, as long as the air space isn't restricted, you can fly a under 250g drone over private property, You don't have to justify yourself or identify yourself.
Those muppets let those JSO vandals get right up to the stones, with their cameraman following them. And he doesn't want you filming him! Surprised they weren't all sacked.

I did notice the lady previously went towards The visitors center after her visit , i think Enlish heritage are steering this , they want to own the view and love people gasping for a drink so they can go back and spend more money, i am cancelling my English heritage subscription today and i am telling them its out of protest, the police didnt attemd the last visit so how can she know when she is going to need them? I think they came to try shit chris up

hi craig ive looked at a few of your vids and courteous,to fellow van lifers ,not everyone is comfortable being on camera ,you meant well but ,it was a hot day and tempers fray, so in fairness to the guy, it would have been courteous to end filming and just explain chris had water for anyone in need, tbh its one of those jobs i couldn't do myself but someone has to do it ,but on both sides he also should have been more courteous as they have training in how to deal with public, imho i really think it was the hot weather we all get crabby when its hot lets face it we dont see much of the golden sun looks like your genuinely enjoying van life ,its plain to see and change of plans on the hoof backs it up enjoy your vids and i honestly couldn't do the you tube vlogs but admire those who do 😁
watch out for the people who come from cities and think they can live anywhere they want to, they won't pay to stay on campsites but park up in supermarket car parks, block the lanes on the levels and snuck into farmers' fields, some of them seem totally unaware how much they sicken the locals and think the council officials chase them off for no reason, they don't understand that the council gets 1000s of letters, emails and phone calls complaining about feral city dwellers in cars, minibuses, old caravans etc many of whom block private roads and block access to fields and lanes, they're all a bit crazy so be careful,

There is a likelihood that anyone watching this vlog has access to some sort of email. Rather than just agreeing that what happened was not just wrong, but, but the fact that these staff are not briefed on what is lawful in terms of public photography or filming is quite bad. To support this fact and to aid English Heritage in its future training, write an email complaining about their staffs ignorance. Moaning on here is fine for the few who actually read the comments, but English Heritage needs to understand that there is a skills gap with its knowledge. I have written to EH, linking this video in the hope that they use it in how NOT to deal with public photography. Please do the same.

As a full timer I stop at stone henge for a few nights at a time every now and again and we are left alone because we keep a low profile. Brilliant vlog Craig, the council workers stood there need to be retrained and educated regarding the rights of the public. If you don't want to be fired then sit in a private office and not a front line public facing job. Your rights as you know can film anything in public even the police can't stop you or tell you not to film in public. As far as the two council workers who were clearly infringing on your personal face should be complained about and be reprimanded. There is a likelihood that anyone watching this vlog has access to some sort of email. Rather than just agreeing that what happened was not just wrong, but, but the fact that these staff are not briefed on what is lawful in terms of public photography or filming is quite bad. To support this fact and to aid English Heritage in its future training, write an email complaining about their staffs ignorance. Moaning on here is fine for the few who actually read the comments, but English Heritage needs to understand that there is a skills gap with its knowledge. I have written to EH, linking this video in the hope that they use it in how NOT to deal with public photography. Please do the same.
