Hi guys. Nice episode BTW. To help correct the twists in your fishing line, be sure to add a swivel to your lure rig so that the line won't be twisted up by the action of the lure in the water. If you are using a steel leader, place the swivel where it attaches to the leader. That should help immensely! Cheers and have a great day on the water!
Cheers Dave! Swivel it up! That’s the advice we are getting so we will be getting one and putting one on! Cheers for watching and for the fishing tips!
@@SailingZephyr we are in Greece preparing the boat for Atlantic crossing .Out cat is 20 years old and need a lots of care ,love and money 💸💸.But we are slowly coming to the Caribbean .We will love to sail and kitesurf in the Bahamas .
I grew up in the Honduran Bay Islands you take that string and attach it to a swivel let it all out with nothing on the end leave it like that for several days it should straighten it out
You must place a good eyebolt so that the line does not get tangled so that the turns of the lure are not transmitted to the line since over time the turns accumulate in the line and you literally ruin it
Once again, great episode! 🙂 To be perfectly honest, I for a change will only miss you guys from Bahamas.. The islands didn't impress me much, or at least they didn't live up to all the hype that has been built up around them. But meeting you there and sailing with you was one of the best experiences I've had since starting sailing life! Best cruising TH-cam couple ever! 🙂
okay first I am so happy I found your channel I am about to hopefully splash myself in the nest 30-45 days but haha I might be able to help now I fish for a living and honestly, it has happened to me but not that bad bro how the fuck, so most of the time when that happens the weight of the line is moving faster than the bait and the bait is trying to catch up so it either comes to the surface and or will spin making the line do that so if you still have the line what you can do, is trying to wrap it between two trees as tight as possible for 15 - 20 min or the next time you are sailing let the line out but add a big ass weight so its tight and let it spin and fix its self meaning it would have to un spin itself through each one of those twists hahaha Fuck that haha so now i would go buy new line but not as thick use 30-50lbs test most of the time if your trying to catch something bigger than dinner bump it up to 60-80lbs test but your leader use 30-50lbd test thats what i use every day fishing charter boats and we caught just this last onday a 47.5 lbs mahi mahi on 50lbs test line you just have to take your time and keep the line tight it doesnt matter if it takes you 3hrs as long as the line is tight and a shark doesnt eat it on the way in you will be fine take your time and put dinner on the plate here is my Fb page so you can check some out some pics from my trips facebook.com/profile.php?id=100009370568504
